Select everyone in a vehicle OTHER than its crew
An-225 replied to polar bear's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
How eloquent. Rather than trying to tell everyone that they suck, how about placing some thought into your future posts? I think that in vehicles with multiple crewmembers, it would be nice to have passengers disembark in an expedient manner if the situation calls for it. -
And...that's a good thing? If anything, it's too simple in ArmA II. I can't possibly think of how you could make it simpler, while retaining the freedom that ArmA gives you in terms of flight dynamics? Collective, cyclic and anti-torque pedals... ...be thankful you aren't governing the RPM of the helo or trimming it.
-
I've noticed the opposite (sort of). My ArmA freezes for around five to ten seconds when opening any sort of GUI, be it menu, gear or map. :/
-
If we are talking about that "Collateral Murder" video...I don't think that was filmed with FLIR on? You can clearly see shadows, and other details that would not be visible on the IR Spectrum.

I just bought and installed the boxed version of OA (automatically merged with A2 and now I have Combined Ops). I selected to install it with the option of using the DVD in the disc tray every start up (rather than activating it online), and the first time I tried running it, it worked perfectly. But on every subsequent attempt to run OA, it closes the application back down with the error message: "Bad serial number given in setup." Any help is appreciated.

RKSL - RAF Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 Released!
An-225 replied to rksl-rock's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Loving the Storm Shadow. I find it amazing that it's meant to fit on a Nimrod MRA4 (although, earlier Nimrods could carry Sidewinders...). I hope we can see a basic representation of the INS unit on the Storm Shadow in the future! -

The flight dynamics are impressive (on this, and the Merlin). You've managed to capture a sense of inertia without making it a flying brick, as most other planes in ArmA are. Having fun tearing up towns with the (Mauser?) 27mm. Looking forward to the Harrier and Tonka. -

I'm waiting for the boxed version, so I can't check, but does OA provide an L-39ZA for Takistan? Could recreate the beginning of "Tomorrow Never Dies" with that. ;) -
ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead demo released. Not.

Да, РОФЛ. ^ What's with the woodland-esque BDU in the middle of "Takistan?" -
That BAe-146 idea is a good one...especially if it were an STA version. But seeing as the STA was cancelled, I doubt there's much chance of that happening.

Call of Duty 7: Black Ops Trailer...
An-225 replied to Laqueesha's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Didn't see this mentioned anywhere else in the forum... http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-debut-call-of/64932 The Cold War setting seems very interesting. Note that in one part, the player climbs into the cockpit of what looks like an Mi-24 Hind-A (which means that part of it must be set around 1972...). It had a Russian teal cockpit and the greenhouse canopy seen on the early production variants. I also noticed a person in a high-altitude pressure suit, and an SR-71... -

Very nice, that unused Ðнтонов Ðн-2 "Колт" is making an appearance! -
Disregard.

Bit of a shame that the JP233 isn't used any more. It would've been quite cool to see a Tonka dispensing munitions with that. Are there any plans for the FAA version of the Lynx?
-
That Merlin looks very nice. It's probably a little too far off to tell, but do you intend to arm the Tornado GR4 with ALARM?
-
It may be rather pointless due to the limited size of the map, but this would be an interesting concept... Is it possible to adapt the C-130 model into a KC-130 by adding the extra fuel tanks to the wings, and give it the attributes of a fuel truck, so that anything nearby will refuel from it, while using attachTo to have the V-22 'hook up' with the drogue in real time? I've seen a few cargo scripts that allow you to load vehicles into the C-130, so surely that could be adapted to allow the V-22 to link up with the KC-130.
-
It doesn't. Instead, the information is projected onto the visor of the pilot's helmet.

I'm pretty sure the only notable difference between the Boeing Longbow and the Westland Longbow is the powerplant it uses, and I don't think that even causes any external difference. -

Am I willing to pay $99 AUD just for FLIR, PEQ and flashlights? You bet! The Chinook, the Apache and the entirely new map are all just bonuses. -
Production of the F-22 Raptor will cease, leaving the USAF with about 187 airframes. The production of the US-101, or VH-71 Kestrel, (replacement of VH-1 and VH-60) will also be halted, with each VH-71 costing $400 Billion US, more than the cost of Air Force One. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7986627.stm Well then, onto the underpowered plane that is the F-35 Lightning II.

I've actually found the UAV to be extremely useful when attacking targets - when it actually works. Half of the time, I can't target anything when I press TAB (certainly not what I want, when I want). This seems to be linked to the current direction of the UAV - I.E, I can't target anything that is not directly ahead of the UAV. I realise, it seems stupid to target and fire on something directly behind the UAV - but currently, we have no control over the UAV, apart from stipulating preset waypoints. That is ludicrous, removing control of the Hellfires from the person actually "controlling" the UAV. I hope this can be changed in the future, to either give the player control of the UAV, or to allow Hellfires to be launched at any aspect.

Just turned 15 on the 12th of August. Just as patient as any other ArmA 2 player.

You just haven't explored it mate. To get ammo and empty vehicles, you place a player unit (yourself) and then you select the EMPTY option. From there you can choose ammo crates and whatever vehicle you like. If you want civilian life, you select modules (F7 key), place a civilian module and synchronise it (F5 key) to yourself. You can get random enemy encounters with the ambient combat module by doing the same thing. ;)

Picture in picture rendering for helicopters, planes and tanks - BIS please add!
An-225 replied to p75's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Of course, most helos can fire a salvo of missiles...but I somewhat doubt that even an Apache can track two targets at once, on its own. Perhaps a Longbow, but that would be a moot or irrelevant point considering we don't have any Longbows as standard vehicles. -

I don't really understand the point of adding this. If you want optics - press NUM0. Is there anything so wrong with the gunship optics that requires render-to-texture? It simply serves no purpose, especially without realistic avionics which require you to pave the target with a targeting pod (since most air-launched guided weapons in this game are laser guided). You also state that you would be able to select multiple targets, as in real life - which is incorrect, at least from my own experience in LOMAC and DCS. The KA-50 can only select one target at a time - the same goes for the A-10A. I would assume the same would be true for the AH-1Z and AH-64. F-15s can track and fire upon multiple airborne targets at one time however.
