It was a cold day on may 1st. I woke up, showered and then set out joyfully, because this was the day I was going to buy Combat ops. I said to my self "This is going to kick so much ass!". I called first as to not waste gas or time. They said " We won't get it until the 8th". This was the first day I started cutting.

I was wondering if anyone managed to get a retail version and what store they got it from and why the change from may 1st to 8th?

I'm in favor of it. Would be good for other vehicles too, as I hate the feeling of sitting there with a rifle in hand watching as an enemy soldier lifts up his RPG and not being able to do anything, but pray I get lucky.

I think Gundam would work really well. With all the series it has there are a ton of different settings and types of combat you can do. You could make it gritty and realistic or completely silly. One of the main reasons I think Gundam is doing so well is you can watch one series and it will be a Drama with emotional scenes and gritty violence(0080) and then see another and it will just be completely over the top and silly(G gundam).

Yeah MP is always a bit of a mixed bag. You meet alot of idiots there, my personal favorite being the " Oh, I won't learn to play the game in SP, I'll just jump online and pester everyone while holding back the server until they tell my dumbass how to play" (sorry, just needed to vent a bit). Just wait awhile & look for a clan in the meantime.

It is pretty amazing that humans are using something so similiar to create our own small virtual universes.

You can apply real tactics to the game and be effective. You can also just kill like crazy using tactics made specificaly for a game enviorment and be just as effective. I feel the same with RO. You've got the tools for realistic gameplay there, but without a clan there's not much motivation to use them.

As a tip to anyone. You can sprint past the duty guards at the garbage and if you have enough medkits you can sprint through the brain scorcher. Artifacts and energy drinks help too.

Yeah the previous CoDs were basicaly Medal of honor with constant explosions and more infantry everywhere. Same basic gameplay, but with more energy. I hope they can pull it off.

Right now for wheels the best one out is the G25 and it has 900 degree rotation like a real wheel. The next is the DFP which also has 900 degree rotation, but lacks the clutch& H pattern shifter. After that is the MOMO, It's like the DFP, but with 240 degree rotation. All have paddle shifters and sequential shifters and you can be competitive online with each. Price wise  G25=300$         DFP=150$         MOMO= around 100$ They work with PS3 and PS2 too as long as the game supports it.

I hope they get the EvoX and the new Impreza into the final game. The Evo wagon that mitsubishi has been keeping under wraps would be cool too.

I finaly beat it. I moved my own artillery back into a field at the start of the map and I guess they weren't able to see it so they targeted the trenches. Ended up losing them so I concentrated everything on taking out those enemy tanks. By the time the russians reached the hill I had 3 tanks left and had to shoot like 50 russian infantry. It was a turkey shoot at that point. I only wish they had allowed you more freedom in setting up your defences before the battle.

I don't agree with the "too realistic for casual gamers" part. Anyone who's in the market for simulation games knows that it comes with the territory. So I don't see why it would be listed. You might as well say that Mario Kart is much to arcadey for racing sim fans.

Yeah, the enemy infantry get cut down no problem, but those tanks and artillery smash everything to the point where I'm left fighting with panzerfaust and grenades. The only time I actually took out a tank with them was when a t-34 rolled into the trenches and everybody just pounded him from every direction. Even then it only killed the crew. Would've hijacked it if the only people capable of using it didn't get taken out by artillery a few minutes earlier.

I was thinking the same thing, I mean the main question I'm thinking of now is which are they primarily developing for? I mean is it going to be a PC game made into a PS3&360 game or the other way around? I don't want to have a stripped down game because a year from now PCs will be pushing a lot of technology consoles can't handle. Codemasters is not making a training tool for the military so they don't have an excuse for not making OFP2 the best game it can be.

It depends, I mean provided the games are equal gameplay wise at that point in time I will still play ArmA. Mainly because I will be able to max it out with a year-old PC. That probably, won't be the case with OFP2 though.

Anybody know what rifles the soldiers are holding?

I think there's two operational vehicles in the background, maybe MBTs. So blurry I really can't tell though.

I think in the most recent incident the school's officials failed to deal with the problem properly. Instead of trying to gurantee the saftey of the kids they took a risk by assuming the shooter left. I don't think adopting stricter gun laws similar to those of European countries is going to stop the attacks. We are not like the U.K., Germany, Holland, or any other European nation. Even if we assume for a second that these laws will significantly bring down the number of guns the attackers will resort to other means. Such as explosives or chemical weapons. The weak point here is the school itself. They need to be prepared to deal with these situations and more importantly watch over the kids mental conditions to stop these things before they start.

No to pretty much everything. Not sure if they strafe though.

Cost aside, I think Multi-Cam is superior.

I've never gotten sick or dizzy from a game. I wonder if you can actually ever fix this problem though. The thing that really gets me is how ArmA effected him yet OFP didn't

I can't help, but feel it would be better if they just scrapped the idea of a movie and made an epic game on the 360 or PS3. The whole graphic novel feels more like a single chapter than anything else. Even then it's still mostly just violent battle scenes. With a game though, long periods where it's just nothing, but battle with little story are acceptable. Another thing is the how the spartans constantly talk about freedom and justice. They sound more like Duke and his G.I. Joes than ancient Greek soldiers.
