ORLY. I've seen some pretty ridiculous stretching and hanging, and I don't even play it. I was watchign someone else play it. Look at Kane&lynch or The Darkness. Both have very good ragdolls.

For me it really helps the overall atmosphere. Like in Rainbow Six 3, It was very satisfying to bust into a room and shoot a guy in the head and see him go limp and drop to the ground or use the explosives and see a body smack against the wall before dropping to the ground. It also makes the weapons feel more powerful when you are able to see your targets head snap back or his body jerk with each impact.

I like ragdoll. To be honest I can't think of a recent FPS that doesn't have it.
-
Damn, I better download my favorites off the site while I still can. On the plus side some alternatives are popping up.

I'm more worried about how each part of the island will perform. Especially for multiplayer, as it's not like I can say "Hey get out of that forest\city my computer can't take it!".
-
Damn that looks nice. Way better than Fire Warrior.

I think informing people about scientology will help, the more you learn about it the more ridiculous it gets. You can say what you will about christianity but at the end of the day you can still join, leave, and seek information about it freely.

Maybe the cables went emo.

There's a picture of it floating around on imdb. From what I've gathered from the descriptions, if zoidberg a squid, kangaroo and an ape had freaky sex their baby/abomination would be the monster.

Confirmed shoot out of non-gunner positions

This reminds me of Joint Operations. It led to some really weird strategies, but nothing too bad as a chopper full of AT weapons and saws was a magnet for stingers. There was alot of teamwork too because if your helicopter or boat was under attack everyone aboard could defend it. -
In stealth missions I've found it easier to either snipe from long distance or not shoot anyone at all. It's not like MGS where guards actually investigate the body and then raise the alarm. As soon as a squad member stops responding they assume the worst. If you can find a time where the A.I. is not getting orders for awhile and is far from his buddies you can take him out. Other than that it's best to just try and sneak around them.

Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced
AWDrift replied to imported_bör's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
The tools are coming out. Joystig has an artical on it. http://www. ?Joystig.com/2008/01/03/Ut3s-ps3-mod-cooker-expected-next-week/ ? I wouldn't worry about cheaters too much many PC online shooters have mod support and are very succesful. Anti-cheat systems will help too. -

I hope they do what UT3 did and allow mods for the PS3 version. I also hope they make the game's singleplayer long. Halo3,CoD4, and Gears took me two sessions to beat the SP, way too short for 60$ games. Espcially when they want you to pay extra for online. -
It's more about principle. I shouldn't have to pay for a feature that I've been getting for free on other consoles or my PC. Even if it's cheap it's something that shouldn't cost money in the first place.

Ok, a highly sensationalistic image showing five physically unharmed at first sight crying kiddies (who were on a BATTLEFIELD) makes the U.S armed forces responsible for 100% of Vietnamese civilian deaths ? You are aware that that the Tet offensive massacres perpetrated by the NVA claimed around 5,800 (of which we have documentation) non-combattants and prisoners of war ? Well... lets see how good you feel after being covered in burns... the crying, naked girl was in her home village, and at the time of the napalm attack, was clothed, and that was pretty much the thing that saved her. RIP for the infantrymen. ? That's war. Things like that have happened as far back as people have existed. Doesn't really make the girl's situation any better, but that's just how it is. The thing wrong here is people not realising stuff like this bound to happen in any war.

I just don't like Live, online should be free. Other than that I'm ok with it.

I hope there is a new patch I've been using 1.06 as 1.08 f'd up my game.

IMO, in a combat sim AI being able to drive across the map with a single waypoint doesn't matter much compared to AI being competent and realistic in battle. I'd glady exchange huge maps for one's the size of a city, forest, or large field if it meant AI being realistic in combat. After all this isn't test drive unlimited or an island tourism sim, it's a combat sim and basic things like surpression and cover should be priorities over having a huge map.

I'm sorry for the soldier's families, but don't trash the whole U.S. military. This happens in all wars.
-
I like the new setting. It feels more alot more gritty, which is a nice change from Sahrini.
-
The older blitzkrieg games. They have lots of mods, look pretty good, and are real cheap. Also check out IL2 1946, best ww2 flight sim around. The infiltration mod is alos worth checking out if you have UT99.

Anyone else think the pc only content might have something to do with how MS tried to force them to charge for content before? Also check out what they did with UT3. I think Epic is fed up with MS.
-
I have to say I really admire the details in the game. The way units enter, exit, and fire from vehicles along with many other things is very impressive. ArmA could use alot of these details.
-
The ragdolls can be made too look realistic, as they have in many games.
-
I'm pretty sure CoD3 had ragdoll. It might have had the system where the death animations transition to ragdoll like in a lot of newer games, but I'm not sure. I think ArmA is behind in this area, even RTS are getting great physics now.
