    Operation Prelim

Operation Prelim SAS Raid on the Argentine held airstrip at Pebble Island, 15th May 1982 Using CoC Command Engine 2 By AfrographX - Version 0.9 Addons used: - Falklands Mod - Falklands Mod Recommended Addons - Falklands Mod Required Addons - USMC Symbols (included in the rar) Here is a first BETA version of a mission based on the SAS raid on the Argentine airstrip on Pebble Island. About the real operation: On the night of 14-15 May, the SAS carried out a daring raid on the Pebble Island Airstrip on West Falkland. Twenty members of Mountain Troop, D Squadron, led by Captain John Hamilton, assaulted the airstrip to destroy all eleven aircraft. The attack was supported by fire from HMS Glamorgan, while the SAS used 81mm mortar, M203 grenade launchers, 66mm LAWS, and small arms fire to drive the Argentinians to cover. The Argentines were forced to take cover and the SAS moved onto the airstrip ad fixed explosive charges to the aircraft. The assault destroyed six Pucaras, four Turbo-Mentors and a Skyvan transport before the party withdrew. Despite some last minute hitches, the aircraft had all been destroyed or rendered irreparable and one Argentinian lay dead. Two of the Squadron were wounded by shrapnel when a mine exploded, although not seriously hurt. (Sourve: www.britains-smallwars.com) The OFP Mission: This mission is still a BETA. Known bugs/odd things: - When calling in artillery the typical radio messages ("Mike Tango Oscar", etc.) are missing. I don't know why. Probably because I added the IF Menu via initi line, but I'm not sure. So you'll have to pay attention to the beeps and watch the IF Menu to track the status of an artillery mission. About the gameplay: You're in command of four sections. When aircrafts and fuel dump are destroyed bring all four sections back to the FUP. Download Link

Click for better resolution: Click for better resolution: Click for better resolution: Combat Mission: Shock Force. Two mechanized companies of the Republican Guard with support of some Republican Guard tanks defending against two companies of Rebel mechanized infantry, a company of tanks and one company of Reservist infantry. It was a BMP massacre. I've to admit I didn't like the demo of the game that much. But the full game with several patches convinced me and it even works on my old machine. So those people like me who can't play ArmA because they lack the sufficient hardware get CM:SF. It has a good editor, which is different to OFP of course but easy to get into. And you can do practically any scenario you want.

Always wondered how the mission would have ended if Bravo had packed some AT weapons and waited for the player's squad to be in a position to deliever covering fire.

    ADF mod back up!

Hey Rico, do you want an updated Nh90 model? So far it's only the improved model (only1st LOD + detailed cockpit and cargo room). It's fully uvw-mapped, things left to do: making the other LODs, all that config stuff and of course the textures. I have it lying around and am not intending to do anything with it. Send me a PM if you are interested.

    Political Change

How can you talk about freedom in Cuba and praise the recent elections when there isn't even opposition to the government allowed. It's written in the Cuban constitution that freedom of speech is ok as long as you don't critizise the socialist state.

    Political Change

Yes, that's why the Cubans are so eager to leave their beloved country. That's bullsh*it. For example the reason many people in Germany are unemployed is not because it's required by the economic system. It's because most are inadequately qualified for the jobs currently offered by the economy. There are a lot of companies unsuccessfully searching for qualified personal. So in some branches there is actually competition for employees. Alone the effort required to replace the current range of goods offered by the market with one offered by a central agency would be gigantic. That's an utopia. This whole idea is ridiculous.

    Political Change

Of course there is no freedom without money. There never was a time in history and there probably never will be a time when people can survive without producing something of worth for the society they live in. What's real democracy for you? Granting everyone the freedom to do what he wants, even if he chooses not to be a productive part of society and just enjoy the nice side of life?

    Political Change

I think those people in western countries crying about how bad the current system is, are just too lazy to work on the improvement of what they already got. Of course it's not perfect, in fact when you look at it closely you'll find a lot of flaws, but it's the best we have. And instead of whining one should put more energy into figuring out how to improve the system. Besides that I'd like to see how those punks propagating anarchy would survive in truely anarchic country. Perhaps one should organise field trips to Somalia or something like that.
