    Buldozer Camera keys

    If I want to goto another part of an island far away I click on an object in the location using visitor, then back to buldozer and I'm there straight away, zooming out using acceleration with shift doesnt seem to work, zooming in is ok

    Each time u make a change to the either the Sat or masks you will need to re-import them to see the changes, make sure also to delete the previous layer folder. When you make a chnage to the terrain png you will not need to do a reimport just reload the terrain file.
  3. Thank you for the kind words, Unfortunetly the island is only very small. Â It started out as a test project and progressed from there.As for the question of towns, yes there are quite a few plus military bases.The island has been made specifically for CTI missions which we have been testing for many months and is almost ready for release (yes JIP is working). As for the island name, it was roughly modelled on an island south of Fiji called Yanutha, so that will be its final name. As for bridges I tried many times to find a way to make the AI cross over them but theres just no way for them to do it. Therfore I had to rework the river to put land bridges at both ends. Bit of a bummer really as I wanted to use many bridges

    As far as I know thats the only way I do it, I tried defining and creating roads but wasnt able too sort it out so I was faced with the option of having an un-usable island without roads..hehe.

    I de-pbo'd the roads addon then added all of them to the new roads section in V3. Then I changed the colors to signify a main road or a dirt road (this will also change them in the map editor). Once that was done I could start adding them to the map. Use the Cntrl key to orintate objects (wish I'd known that before about 10K of road..LOL Another tip as I mentioned before, make sure u use Mesto in the mask, do all your roads in the mask, then when u use V3 you can follow the path, make it slightly bigger than the road so u get a good gravel texture on the shoulders of the road. ( As you can see in the second bottom pic) One thing I have found is laying roads in the long grass with the mesto underlay causes problems, kinda goes all blocky, I have to make the road shoulder bigger to counter it. One more thing play around with the "hardness" of the brush when using PSP or photoshop its a great way of getting textures to run into each other

    As for roads I tried laying a few and then got the AI to drive around and they work great, the bridges are the only thing they wont cross. My maps only quite small so I've nearly completed the road network. The only real problem I found is dodgy textures when u lay them on the long grass. Heres some pics, its about 80% completed. When I created the mask I used the city texture under the road network, this then helped me when I used buldozer as I just followed the texture path. As for the sat pic, I still need to do more work on that, I used the sat pic from saharini and took small sat textures from that. I found a trick for making good mountains and ridgelines in the greyscale, after creating them I used the soften pic tool too smooth out the overall pic and blend ridges into valleys

    If u think textures are a headache wait till u start trying to lay roads....... This is incrediably painful has anyone got a decent idea on how to simplify the process

    Been tinkering and have a playable island now, still need to sort some coast line textures. I can have fun and start adding objects now.

    When you start making islands, start very small. Mine is roughly the same size as ramandi. This way you save heaps of time as will compile the island alot before you start to understand how it all comes together.The terrain.png is the hardest part I found, Take your time and use the RGB numbers to gently slope the edges and make hills.

  17. Seems the webpage and forums have gone for Certa's new ArmA Watch. Does anyone know if he is continuing with this fine product? Now that the addon tools have been released we need an effective tool for distributing addons/mods. Is there any product around that will do the same as OFP watch used to do?

I think I have found all the bugs as we have been playing it on OGN for a little while now, heres the latest and hopefully last version, this mission was orginally desgined for our regimented Coop nights, but I got carried away and kept adding stuff..lol http://arma.ogn.com.au/addons....ara.pbo Some featues: Custom sounds Retains weapons loadouts when respawn Dymanic ambush points Base respawn All vehicles respawn after un-occupied or destroyed Medikit for each player Chimneys smoke (doesnt serve a purpose just looks good..LOL)

    Skywolf this statement isnt true, please double check your findings before posting. I run four servers on one box and they all have seperate nelogs, server_logs, profiles. Its all about how you set the box up. I get a strange feeling from this comment above? Am I right in thinking you have one install and run 2 instances of the game?

    I dont advocate global bans for every server admin. In our case they work fine, At least having the facility to IP ban adds another level of security. Good admins and plenty of them are the best deterant

    There are communities that are active in slowing this problem, we have called upon our community players to assist in this, by recruiting more admins and incorporating IP bans we have seen a decrease in problem gamers/hacking. We are lucky down here that we can activily IP range ban all Overseas players except our local IP ranges. There is no single way to fight this problem, You must employ several methods to combat it, it can be done, vigulance and good admins are a start
