Well, time for me to break out some of the little French I know, which I learnt exclusively for applying to the OFrP addons: Bonjour, Opération Frenchpoint! TrÄs trÄs bien! And that's about it, yeah. C'est la vie. Okay, I'll stop brutalizing the French language now. Well, like all of your releases I was very pleasantly surprised. Thanks for your work so far, high quality, always a complete set of addons perfect for mission making. There is nothing here I don't like. Definately some of the best stuff in OFP.

Azure's US Army Soldiers in Desert Camo Beta
AKM replied to azureblue's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
The helmets could use some work. I think Shashman essentially wrapped up any feedback you'll get in a single post - of course, it is your perogative to release them. I would suggest taking the knowledge you gained here and applying it to a different project that may garner you more recognition or kudos, something that hasn't been done repeatedly. -
That is looking very good. Finally, I won't be able to pick out my targets and knock them down at 500 meters because of their un-tanned, clean faces. Very nicely done. Looking forward to this battle.

Cameron's method works, but the problem is that you still won't be able to use LAWs or any other second-weapon-slot weapons, as well as having limited carrying capacity. Which makes sense, because you're in Civvies (No webbing to hold extra magazines, just your pockets) but the LAW thing makes little to no sense.

And Dutch rifles... and if I recall, more than a few rifles in service with the UKSF. The ACOG is looking pretty badass though. Damn, but that C-7A2 looks nice.
-
Yeah, that's true. I was about to come back here and mention them actually. Good coincidence. And although I don't know for certain, I think the difference is that it takes advantage of a rail system rather than that giant forestock bracket... gimped thing that you mentioned. I will have to check. It's a damned shame that Colt bought out Diemaco, or I'd head over to the Diemaco site to check, but I'm not willing to sully myself by accessing anything owned by Colt.
-
The CF, as far as I know, uses the Diemaco-produced "M-203A1" which is essentially an M-203. I've not heard of the EAGLE UBGL until now, and I believe it's the Koninklijke Landmacht (The Dutch) who use the AG-36 / AG-C with their Diemaco rifles.

I can't speak for Jackal326, but I'm pretty damn sure the majority of those details are through well-made textures, not little modelled bits and pieces. I think it's a tribute to the quality of the weapon's texturing that you think those are modelled on there. The models are substantially higher-poly than the BIS weapons. The models are fairly high-poly I'd say, but Jackal knows when to stop adding details. Given my experiances with the guy, it's either: i) When it can impact gameplay, or, and much more likely: ii) When he goes bat-shit insane and starts shooting things in-game with the M-82A1 he's worked on.

I like it. There we go. Finally have a good reason to use that emoticon. Looking forward to this island, keep up the nice work.

No soft-skinned vehicles at all, I'm afraid. I think everything there either has tracks or is just a picture - and taking a picture of a picture wouldn't be very effective in this case, given the nature of those photographs.
-
Yeah, I'm seeing the drill now at the Waffen SS Junkerschule: "Eins, ZWEI! Drei, VIER! Und zis is how ve vash our HANDEN. JA!" Ah, if only I spoke German. I am confident you won't screw anything up. I'd like to see more of the Commonwealth troops though, I am *kinda biased.* If there's anything you need, ask and I'll see what I can get done for you - there's a place in my hometown called The Meuseum Of the Regiments, got plenty of Canadian WW2-especially gear on display there, etc. Might be able to get some pictures, dunno. T-72M1 out front, as well as a bunch of Canadian-service Commonwealth vehicles, and a Sherman or two. I should be able to coerce some of my mates into taking blueprint-esque pictures for you if you need 'em - from memory, what they've got out front is: - Universal Carrier / BREN Gun Carrier, - M4A2 / M4A3 Sherman, not sure which, - Cromwell, pretty sure - Think they've also got a Churchill out there, - Few other machines I can't remember. Damn, it's been too long since I've been there.
-
When you saw bearded German soldiers in WW2 who weren't: 1) Combat Engineers (I think that the German Pioneers were permitted to grow beards, like their Commonwealth [At least Canadian] counterparts) 2) Veteran officers, It was because they had no ability to shave. Given how constantly German troops were on the frontline compared to their Allied counterparts, who were rotated back far more frequently, some shadow would be a good idea. And maybe some beardless baby-faced boys in the 12th "Hitlerjugend" SS Panzer. Some of them were as young as 15-16.

*Bites tongue to avoid a page-long invective-filled diatribe regarding Colt's takeover of Diemaco.* Looking and sounding great, mate. I take it you've already offered these to the rejuvenated ONS?
-
Whoa, big compliment from The Animation King himself there. @Fab - RE, Commonwealth Battlegear: That's excellent, good to hear. I'm kinda hoping to see that little 'assault pack' that clips onto the webbing harness there. As a matter of fact, I have the webbing harness (still khaki) with I believe two general-purpose pouches and a canteen with its straps, if you want more reference images (recently got a digital, whooyeah! ) but it looks like you've got everything, blanco'd and all. It would be a good idea to give a BREN gunner four general-purpose pouches (Three were typically loaded with two mags each, and the fourth had the cleaning / maintainence kit, if I recall correctly, usually) and give him an A-Gunner as well... yeah. Not the point, and now I'm rambling. - RE: Faces: That's freaking excellent. I'd recommend trying to greasestick some of them for camouflage with the black and I believe I've seen green greasestick on some Canadian and British troops in some photographs - dunno if other forces had that or not. Other than that, good to hear, and I am definately looking forward to this release, more than anything else I can think of, actually. Keep up the good work.
-
I'd like to see a little more kit on the Commonwealth troops, they look a little under-kitted there, but it's looking good. Very, very good. Only other complaint I can possibly think of is regarding faces on the troops.
-
Yes, and that thread is here. I'll tell you what I know. They're getting closer to done, but they're not done yet, and trust me, you don't want a premature release, not with some of the coding the way it is.

Laser's US Weapons pack v3.0 and Para Rescue pack
AKM replied to Shadow NX's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I can't speak for Laser and I'm not the best educated regarding CCTs and PJs, but one would think that information regarding how their units are laid out is somewhat classified. It's possible that he just didn't want to best-guess a group together, instead leaving it to the mission maker to do that. Hell, for all I know, PJ and CCT units might simply be grouped up into teams for each mission. I don't think that's how it works, but it's a possible reason why there are no groups. That or it's a simple oversight that for some reason wasn't caught in the beta phase. -
No, I probably shouldn't have. But I don't have a delete feature here. And if we're going to go on regarding posts that shouldn't have been made, prettymuch every post since page 60 of this thread didn't really need to happen, unless Jackal was making it.
-
It's not a shame, it's 81 pages long and hitting it up with the v2.0 release announcement would not be a good idea to begin with. And as Jackal would dub it, many of those 81 pages are off-topic faggotry. Fresh topic is the way to go. But yes, it is a Goddamned shame we can no longer hint at the F-2000, plastic fantastic piece of modular shit that it is (You know, it probably is a good weapon, I just have a strong hate on for 'tupperware firearms,), and I have no idea how the Christ Eddie Murphey got involved in this. It's just fucking common sense to lock it at this point. Actually, my apologies for this post as well. It's completely unessecary and I have no idea why I wrote it. Much as I have no idea why anyone wrote most of the posts in this thread's last twenty pages.

That's a question of ergonomics, and it is personal preference that determines ergonomics for the most part. For example; I find the AK to be a very comfortable weapon to handle that's decently accurate (Read as: Can hit man-sized target) out to around 350 meters, which is what I've achieved personally with a 'prohibited' Kalashnikov on a range in Calgary. In Canadian legal parlance, that means restricted to semiautomatic fire only and with a rivet in the magazine restricting that to five rounds. Six, if you manually fit one into the chamber. My personal mantra is: "So long as it works." It can look odd as all Hell, but so long as it works.
-
I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think Jackal326 made that particular rifle.
-
I'd say it's more of the former - proportions and scaling, with especial attention to the magazine - than the latter (Pistol grip) that's preventing release.

OFP-D Afganeveron v2.0 and AfganPack v2.0
AKM replied to ALYGATOR's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
URRAH! Thanks. Downloading now, feedback to follow, unless I end up burning the rest of my day drooling over this. Now... where'd I put those OWP Mi-8s. -
Island is pretty good for tanker and / or Mechanized Infantry operations. Also decent for airmobile ops. I'm pretty impressed with the way everything's laid out, and it doesn't resemble Nogova all that much to me, except in 'basic shape.' A lot has changed, and for the better, in my opinion. Although without those mountains, it is decidedly no longer the place to wage a guerilla war.

Kickass. Thanks, I've been looking forward to this release for a while now. Looks to be high-quality, I'll be using this for a long time to come, I think. Edit: - A ReadMe, would probably be a good idea.
