MH, isn't that a designation for Special Mission? I only say MH because of the MH-53 Sea Dragon, then you have your MH-53J's and now K(is it, the Pave Low IV), and so on. Don't forget RAH- and OH- and TH-, etc etc. AH-1Z, aren't they calling it the Viper rather then continuing on with Super Cobra? That was the scuttlebutt I heard. Frankly I would not mind choosing the AH-1Z over a fixed wing, it looks like one mean mother, meaner then the Longbow. George

I hear ya, we got the MARPAT's at OCS, but I still have my brothers set of woodlands from when he was an 0311 in the 90's so I just wear those most of the times we have humps or stuff here. PS. The Huey looks great, keep up the good work NZXShadow. George

MARPAT flight suits??? What's the word on them so far? Sheesh, hopefully I get to enjoy the OD flight suit for a while when I head to NAS P-cola this year. TS: yeah yeah I know, I forgot, that's what happens when you sit in a Poli Sci class for 3hrs a day every day, your brain goes to mush since it is filled with pure non-sense HAHA. George
-
Yeah, from what I see pilots still wear teh OD green flight suits, and Marine aviators and enlisted aircrew wear a woodland cover on their helmets to identify themselves grunts. Since all enlisted go thru MCT and all Marine officers are trained as infantry platoon commanders. George

That's because the Marine Corps has the baddest bunch of MoFo's Miles, DUH!!! HAHA. Just kidding. But on topic, it is good to hear that the Pave's have an ETA of Jan 04. Though the more time taken on them the better they shall be. George

Those first Marines that were inserted into Liberia were not Force Recon, they were part of FAST (Fleet Anti-Terrorist Security Teams). They were put in to augment the security of the American Embassy. The reason AF H-60's were used were because they were the closest available asset to insert the FAST team. George

OUT-FREAKIN-STANDING!!!! I just made a quick mission 42 T-64 tanks (improvised Tank battalion, 3x Companies of 14 tanks each), versus an under-strength company of M-1A1's and 2 AH-64D Longbows from BOH in support on Kodiak island. WOW!!! I should have taken pictures of the fields of fire afterwards!!! WOW!!! George

Green beret addons and new anims
AOCbravo2004 replied to trinec's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Well Jinef the original 10th Special Forces Group back in the 1950's was comprised of a large number of East European immigrants, this was permitted under the Lodge Act, which allowed immigrants of persecuted countries to become American citizens if they served in the US Armed Forces. Also if you read my post again you will see that I said that the 19th and 20th SFG's have FORMER ACTIVE DUTY SF soldiers. As in they did their time on active duty, got out and got jobs in the private sector, yet still want to be 'Green Berets' but only part time. -
Green beret addons and new anims
AOCbravo2004 replied to trinec's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Yea right, i'd like to see someone actually tell theSF soldiers in Iraq that they were ORDERED to shave thier beards off. SF soldiers, from whati have seen on Fort Lewis (1st SFG), they do pretty much what they wanna do, they can carry thier weapons in there own POV's, they can go and check out demolitions at thier own free will just to go blowshit up. When they get a mission, they go and do it, and come back, no sitting around fgor  a coiuple days wondering whats going to happen. They know thedeal, and get it done. I'll try to find the report, but this order was issed, in Afghanistan NOT Iraq, after several famous picture shortly after one of the assassination attempts of Afghanistan's Interim President Hamid Karzai. I even remember watching a Larry King Live at the time and they were talking about how the Army was requiring the Special Forces soldiers too look 'more professional.' Personally I think the order was BS, I think the beards are necessary for them to accomplish their mission since a beard is part of the Muslim culture, pretty much required for acceptance. PS I'm trying to find an article that states that SF soldiers in Afghan were told to remove the beards and look a bit more professional. ON TOPIC: It would be nice to get soldiers with SF tab and patch on their shoulder. In the mean time I just use Covert BAS Rangers and slap a patch on them. George -
Green beret addons and new anims
AOCbravo2004 replied to trinec's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
ACtually DeadMeat, the 19th and 20th Special Forces Group are National Guard units ;), Part-Time soldiers. Pretty much all members of the 19th and 20th are former Active Duty SF soldiers. The beards are for blending in, back in 2002 the commander of American forces in Afghanistan ORDERED all SF soldiers to get rid of the beards since it was not professional looking. George -

Coc unified artillery 1.0 released
AOCbravo2004 replied to dinger's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
You can do this. Â Just read my post on this thread a page or two back and it explains how to have the artillery target either you the player or an object that can be tiggered using any kind of trigger that suits the mission. Â Also if you're the radio man, I'm fairly certain that you can call fire onto your own position. Â Just get inside a bunker or some structure when the enemy breaks through your defenses and then call in the artillery on your position. Â Then hope and pray that none of the rounds lands right next to you or on top of your building. Â It's probably not a good idea to call in a MLRS strike on your position however as it kills just about everything that isn't heavily armored. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD> You got me wishing for a DANGER CLOSE command HAHA. I can just picture it, the player screaming into the handset "Danger Close, Danger Close!!! ROUNDS OUT!!!" Ok now back to reality, I love this addon!!! Great job CoC. George -
Hh-60 seahawk + hh-60j pavehawk
AOCbravo2004 replied to ExtracTioN's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The HH-60H(same with SH-60F) does NOT have the APS-124 radar underneath the nose like the SH-60B Seahawk and SH-60R Strikehawk. That radar you are referring to is for detecting subs and is used in conjunction with the MAD(that red/yellow torpedo some of you have referred to ;)). The 60B LAMPS III is the version that is carried on cruisers and destroyers, the -60F was designed to operate off of and near the carrier since the screws of a carrier generate more noise then the escort vessels. The -60H was designed for SAR and for use by NSW(Naval Special Warfare) for insertion/extraction of SEALs. The S/HH-60's at times also have a FLIR attached to their nose. The Navy is going to replace the -60B and -60F with the -60R, and the Navy is also now bringing online the CH-60 for VERTREP. Links to pics of SH-60B/F/R Link to pics of HH-60H and HH-60G George -
Absolutely wonderful news, I have been waiting for CoC UA. I'm sure the wait will have been more then worth it. George

Here are some screenshots I took. The Americans have taken the main airport on Tonal, there are 8 CH-47's, 12 BAS UH-60's, 14 AH-64's, 4 OH-58's, 2 C-17's, 1 C-130, 2 MH-47's, 6 MH-60L's, and 2 AH-60L's. Also out of sight, I have a company worth of Stryker 2's (LAVIII's, call them S2 cuz it is the Stryker the Army should have bought).
