Yeah the MP code is ammazing ,first i thought they were joking when i saw the server limit of 200 players ,but then i playd a game with 80 players once and it didn't lag the leastest ,so i figure it can support well into the 100's atleast. Really neat to play with so much ,esppecially if both teams build a grand space fleet and then go into full battle with eachother ,we had a battle of about 10 capital ship's and about 60 fighters from different type's ,nothing as fun as tto boost with a wing of fighters right into the enemy pack and dogfight the enemy while youre zigzagging along it's capitals. (and afcourse hoping that you wont be targetted) Really some monumental battle's you can have in this game ,bit like Star wars fights in space. Nah ,but remap youre keys ,i fly with the mouse and it works very well ,easy to shoot accuratly. Anyway ,yes this game is a jewel ,and you must be mad to not download this ,it's graphic's are quite well ,it's gameplay is wonderfull ,a very strategic game that force the players to work as a team ,most of all totaly free. Â Btw if you have questions feel free to ask ,this game takes some time to get in with all it's different factions ,weaponry ,shiptype's etc. ,or visit the allegiance academy: Allegiance academy

Mark me as conspiracy thinker if you want ,but i have the vague suspicion that atleast half the worldwide virusses in existence have been written by programmers at company's like Symantec.

It more complicated than just diffrence's bewteen Sunni and Shia on the bases of religion ,Because while the Shia are the most poppulous ,that doesn't mean they are the most wealthy or advanced in society.most probably ,the economical hart of the country will still be the Sunni pat of iraq ,and it's probably also the "braincenter" of Iraq ,not only scientificly but also politicly and millitary.because the most loyal veteran's of the former regime including officer's were sunni's ,and they have probably more experience with millitary hardware and better availibilety to weapons and ammunition. (probably before the fall of Iraq many millitary socks have been hidden underground all over the Sunni part for later use) The implications on a national economical level could mean that The Sunni's would be forced to pay more for the New democratic Iraq while the Shia are getting most power over how these funds will be invested. In the end ,if i would analyse the chances for a sunni sepperatist movement in iraq then i would say that they would most probably be way more powerfull that a National security force ,and that while their millitary supperiority might then better that while a seperatist movement could be easily sucsesfull given the right moment that a bid for domination over Iraq from such a movement would end up in a terrifyingly bloody civil war ,one that might as well spark the involvemet of neighbouring country's.

It's probably useless though to try to force democracy on a country that just isn't ready for it ,or otherwise just havn't got the political culture for it or the social and national stability. Half the world is in name a democracy ,eperiences after colonialism in Africa for example however show that a democracy that does not exist on the bases of national unity ,with good level of public pollitical awareness ,room for free media ,or an significant intelligencia and/or public education will easily degrade in a tyranical ,dictatorial or oliarchic regime. Political background is very important for a country if it wants to succeed in Democracy ,even many modern country's struggle with such matters there ,country's like Italy or Russia are democracy by name however the degradation of free media influence of the economical sector in politic's there are more than worrying for it's political future ,and this in itself is partly a inheritance of their political past and culture ,for country's that lack tradition of freedom ,equality ,stabilety etc are not easily changed. Even America ,recognized banner of Democracy usually is more and more discarding it's ideals for political and economical benifit.America's press is far from free and unbiased (although most press worldwide is influenced) ,it's newest laws on security or immigration are far from the pioneering democratic spririt of the young America. Many recent scandals like Abu Graib and Guantanamoo are really severely dammaging for America's immage of "defender of the democratic world". And then ,i would say that while the world is IMO more going away from democracy than that it's growing to it ,Iraq is probably for all factor's one of the most impossible country's to get a democracy on ,due to it's ethnic diversity ,it's political unstabilety ,it's fragile nationalism ,it's lack of free press.Thankfully atleast there is a minority of an well educated secular intilligencia ,however mostly sunni and that in itself raises problems. The result will probably be that the Democratic Iraqi goverment as it would be will probably only survive for a limited amount of time and have to be held in life kinda artificially. If the goverment fails to receive a broad national support ,wich it will probably be the case ,then it will be only kept alive by the security it can muster ,at this point it needs America to provide that security ,and with the numbers of insurgent's it will most probably need that support for a long time still. That in itself raises problems. If the new iraq goverment stays largely dependant on America in the future then America's influence will be strong over it ,this will increase the impression under the normal poppulance that this goverment is then only a artificial puppet of the USA rather than a goverment based on a broad national support. If the insurgents that are fighting the Americans continue as a seperatist movement with contuned support under groups of the poppulation then it will effectivly end up in a civil war. The democratic goverment of Iraq can only survive if it get's support from a majority of the national poppulation and that from within all ethnicity's and religions of the poppulance ,or otherwise a goverment that represents virtually everyone. Personally i think this can only be achieved by an extreme level of decentralization ,and would look to my own country Belgium as an example. Due to the fact that we have quite nationalistic sub groups within our country (flemmish-nationalists and Wallonian's) that do not coperate that well with eachother ,Belgian has been forced to take upon an aproach of multiple regional sub goverment's (flemmish parlement- Walonian parlement) This make's it easier for the 2 groups to cooexist with eachother as both are represented by their own goverment. Similar thing's can be seen in Inthe Uk for ex. ,Scottish parliament has made it easier for Scot's to accept that they are a part of the UK ,Or Spain now where Catalonia has received a large amount of self governance the last decade ,wich severely dimminished the power and poppularity of ETA. I would say that there is a need for iraq to have Kurdish ,Sunni and Shia sub-goverment's ,with many influence granted to this sub-goverment's rather than to a national goverment ,so that as such atleast the people get a feel that they arn't dominated from an other group within society.

Personally i think those documents will not have revealed that much important information ,not that it's good but it's probably not that dammaging for anti-trafficing at all ,since the nature of anti trafficing doesn't lend itself to be easily battled unless when working in an international coperation. Europe has a problem with illigal immigration but fighting this on the national level is almost uselles ,human trafficers work from country's outside Europe and bring the big mass of immigrants in via the fringes of Europe ,by country's like Italy (from Balkan) or spain (Straith of gibraltar) by boat usually.Once the immigrants are in Europe they can travel easily to any member state ,so it's more important to stop immigration at those european borders rather than national borders ,in addition to battle these human trafficing crime syndacate's (it's mainly maffia work) in their country of origin. (Albania for instance) If this marechaussee is working on the dutch national borders then i can only presume that their effeciancy to stop immigration is probably next to nothing. Afcourse ,as Belgian i noticed this ,it's hard to predict the sentiment of the Dutch people on such incidents these days as immigration is more than a hot and controversial topic in the Netherlands now ,the aftermath of the murders of pim fortuyn and Van Gogh have created a significant crack in the Dutch Multicultural society and people tend to react emotionaly on such topics there ,emotionally enough to get some people scapegoated and fired over what may otherwise be an insignificant incident.

Because he's the boss already anyway. Ellect my puppet ,ellect!

Lol this list of party's is full of funny names. My favourite's: -Iraqi communist party (The middle east is red) -Assyrian patriotic party (Yeah Assyrian nationalism is on the rise) -Movement of Hizbullah in iraq (yep they should put more security on the Syrian border) -Iraqi Elites gathering (freemasons rule the world) -National front for the unity of Iraq (good luck) -Twentieth revolution Grandchildren Gathering (self-explainatory really) -Royal Constitutionality Al Shareef Ali bin Al hussein (King Hussein!) -The First Democratic National party (but not the last in the list) -Husseini Inspiration Forum (Banning all those who spammed hussein's avatar across the country) -Iraqi National rescue party (can be seen running on the beaches in red Speedo's) -Iraqi's (quite inspiring party name) -List of independants (like the list wasn't long enough yet) -Al Shaabanya uprising Coalition (AK's for everybody!) -Iraqi council for humanitarian Non-govermental organizations (trying to be ellected for goverment) -New Iraq revival movement (euh? Kunundrum?) Strange though ,noone thought about setting up a Babylonian patriotic party.

Huh? i thought the majority of Saudi Arabia was Wahabist (an even extremer form of Shia religion ,with product's like Osama bin laden) and that this wahabist dogma's served as law in Suadi Arabia to. Even then ,Iran is deffinatly hte more poppulation rich an millitary powerfull country in that region ,asside from Turkey maybe.
-
Yes well it depends on how many iraqi's lay asside to them the security issue's and go vote ,but if most vote then a Shia cleric will most probably win ,and if almost noone votes then i would say a kurd would win ,eitherway any of these are unnaceptable for certain groups within Iraqi society ,and thus civil war seems more than probably ,plus neither of these will be easily accepted by foreign country's ,if it's a shia then the USA will be most concerned about that (just think what the fall of the Shah of iran and the emmerging of the religious goverment there has done to America's oil interrests in Iran) ,if it's a Kurd godforbid then half the region will be very upset by that. (not in the least turkey) And in the odd occasion that it would be a sunni then afcourse the Shia won't be happy. One must note also that the majority of wealth and millitary power in iraq is in the hands of the Sunni ,afterall Saddam usually only set sunni's as high ranked millitary officers ,same goes with high goverment and economical positions. In the likely even that a Shia cleric will be ellected (Shia's are about 60% of Iraq's poppulation) ,then that will be because the Shia's are most powerfull in number's ,but not in funds or in weaponry ,that power lies to the Sunni who are probably more than preppared to use them against the Shia wich they don't like and don't want to lose their prominent possitions to. Another concern would be what such a civil war could mean for the neighbouring country's ,possibly prominent Shia country's like Saudi Arabia and Iran would prefer to support the Shia while regional Sunni or secular country's would rather prefer to support the Sunni. Let us just hope Iraq doesn't become a second Congo.
-
Personnaly i think a kurd will win.I think most people outside the kurdish region in Iraq will be to scared to vote because of terrorist attacks ,so maybe only 10 to 20% will show up and even then vote over a very devided list of candidate's.This while in the Kurdish regions security problems are non-existant ,probably every kurd ellegible to vote will vote and probably all kurds will vote for the same guy/party ,a kurdish one ,to maximize their chances. I wonder what will happen if the Iraqi people ellect some die hard Shia cleric or a kurd as president...
-
Well i know 3 people on the list , al-Schahristani ,Alawi and Tschalabi ,the rest i don't know. Personaly i wouldn't vote any of them ,some of these guys are religious clerics ,others are ex-opposition politicians who lived in exile for decade's ,like Alawi and Tschalabi ,and do not have much of local support at home.Heck most of the guys on the list have survived mutlipe assasination attempts ,and there might be more on that list if it wasn't for the fact that the assasination attempts are a lot of times succesfull to. But the automatic problem with these iraqi ellections is that any candidate will be unnaceptable for a specific poppultion group ,either he is a non-cleric and then is unnaceptable for a large portion of the shia poppulation (or other religions) or he is in fact a cleric and then he's unnaceptable for most people that don't share his beliefs. IMO ,hold a poll today in Iraq asking the people if they want a religious goverment with Sharia implemented and probably the majority will say YES ,the result is that Democracy is probably no really what the Iraqi's want. And then you have the Kurds ,and the Kurds want a Kurd and thats all to it for them.

Pacific War Mod Addon Pack - 1st Release
Apollo replied to XeLSiS's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Same as most really ,infantry that is ,and after that vegetation/buildings and aircraft ,as these were the most coman thing's in that theatre. But you released some islands first ,and thats good to ,because many addons are already available from other mods islands are the easiest thing's to get playin already ,though it such's a bit to play germans VS Americans on the pacific theatre. Â btw. any ata when the site is going to be back online? Apollo Aka AttilatheGun. -
Youre were minding Italy? I noticed that in the whole of Asia there was exactly 1 person represented on this forum ,and this for a continent that holds a few billion of people ,probably more than half the world poppulation.

Lets see what happens when china begins to send stuff all around our solar system.

Obviosly ,for something to be transmitted over such a long distance in takes time ,because the carrier signal itself has a relative slow speed over such a distance in space ,and Cassini acts as a relay station for hugyens probe where the probe will first teansmit all it's collected information to Cassini at a possible slow speed aswell.

I can't wait for the decent neither ,actually the craft will be on Titan for about two hours and a half. (with the decent incalculated wich will take most part) Apart from the picture's ,a thourough study will be done of the elements in titan's atmosphere ,rightt now most people are anxious to know if there are element's there like liquid water (there is probably lots of frozen water due to the cold) methane and other elements wich could create almino-acid's ,basicly building blocks of life. Some scientists make the assumption that Titan is kinda like a planet that could have life on it in the future ,or a kinda earth in it's embryonic stadium. The thought is that titan is full of liquid methane sea's ,basicly zippo fuel ,makes you think about the prospect's of comercial use of Titan with all that fuel. As it has enough fuel localy to get a rocket lifted out of it's atmosphere ,with some robotic plants out there in the future we could maybe let it send that stuff home or act as a fuel station for further space travel. In any case ,enough fuel there to solve the heating problem of a possible colon there in the long future. voted for "it will be a succes" ,because i sincerly hope it will be ,i have waited for that decent for years. Oh and thumbs up for way more money to space flight ,hopefully the USA could disband a few devissions from it's humongues army and stick it in there. But i think Space flight will begin to realy lift of when there will be actually something to gain from it ,like resources (cash) or living space.

To give some extra motivation: I think he's talking about this little piece of real estate: Better be quick because it was some time already that he asked for it.

*Bump* ,this thread doesn't deserve to be on the second page of this forum. Risking the possibilety that i maight delay the work on this product ,may i request some mouth wetting appatizer screenshot's for the moment? (or more like "drool over these" pics? ) And might i also ask about the coorperation with the Civil war mod on this one? i can only but think that they really would want this stuff ,and their horde of fans including me to.

Heh ,i'm pretty aware of this mod due to the clan forum. Cheers from AttilaTheGun's BIS forum alter ego. Â Btw. ,did they used mines in the pacific theatre WWII?

Maybe due to the speeding nun of "les Gandarme de Saint Tröpez" .

Granted ,it's not only the fault of GW Bush that created this bad economic situation ,While Clinton could boast with a nice budget surpluss it must be said that woon when Bush came to power the IT bubble bursted in a scenario that could have well been predicted (halfway 2001 ,even i managed to predict that bust in 2000) ,and while Bush his tax cut's were primarily benificial to the wealthier classes in the end he had to pull em trough more towards the middle classes by pressure. Not all bad what he did from an economical point of view ,even from such a point of view giving up on Kyoto and support for drilling in certain protected nature enviroment was economicly sound ,though not very morally. Afcourse Bush his war in Iraq is a big factor ,it's costs slammed that hughe deficit ,and the political factor's of that conflict might put a drag on the American economy for some more time as America is pressed to bear the costs of the continuing Iraqi insurgency. In the end though ,Bush has always found his staunchers supporters in the big bussiness sector at home ,and clearly the supported bush again this year's ellection. While the situation might be lose-lose for the west ,the American industry moghul is probably happy'r ,and this lose-lose situatioon still benifit's his own pocket. And yes ,happy newyear unto you all.

About armor penetration value's ,Col Klink once mentioned that when he was ready with Dib ,wich feature's structural dammage to houses by calculating where it hit and wich type of ammo and then only doing dammage there according to ammo strenght ,he might look in to use the knowledge he gained on DIB to apply that on armor ,so that dammage on a tank would be calculated depending on where it hit and wich type of ammo it was hit by. However ,as with dib Afaik, this would mean a whole rebuilding of armor ,breaking it up in seperate pieces with different value's and that being held toghether with scripts. Might be worth it though ,apart from the armor penetration value's it would also allow to like shoot the turret of a tank.

A horse ,a horse! My sister for a horse! seriously ,cant wait to test this baby.

While i absolutly detest the original Bf1942 as way to unrealistic ,it must be said though that BF1942 has one of the largest modding community's in gaming world ,and that this mod community has spawned a few mod's that makes that game nearly as realistic as Ofp standards. an example: http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/info.html this mod feature's realism ,in a sense that people die from i shot ,that tank have actual realistic penetration value's depending where you hit them (even Ofp doesn't have that realism) ,no bunnyhopping ,towable AT and AA pieces and what more. Now i don't even own Bf1942 ,and havn't been able to try this mod ,but it's rumoured to be great ,and really would like to try it.It's amount of vehicle's is staggering ,same goes for the functiounality of them it seems.Makes me almost want to buy the game just for this mod ,what can it cost now?
