Uhm yeah but then again "Silent hunter 3-4" by ubisoft wasn`t bad eventhough Lockdown and Vegas was.

Seems to me alot of people here have idealized BIS and are terrified that Codemasters will actually make a good game.

Yeah the setting sounds good enough for me, and not only that but I assume we get to play around with US, Russian and this time Chinese goodies in the equipment department. At least we get 3 sides as in the original.

Nah that looks a bit to slick with all the grass etc to be in-game I think. Of course I can hope , the teaser was nice though and I am looking forward to this more and more. I know it uses the NEON engine which "Colin McRae Dirt" is built upon as well but I haven`t played it so I can`t comment on the engine.

I am pleased about the annoncement, about the game. It doesn`t look to bad in my opinion, and I will probably get it anyway since I didn`t get ARMA. As usual though, can`t say to much without an in-game video. I must say however that I am a bit surprised about all the negative comments.

Holy those screens looks good, but as the above poster say it says nothing about gameplay, though the original game and the H&D series makes me believe that we are in good hands with Illusion

You sure thats not only the games that are presented as "playable" maybe OFP2 will be shown with a trailer, or some other tech stuff.

I read on another site that OFP 2 was going to be included, strange if not they have said earlier it would .

Another option that I would love to have is the ability to stash all kinds of stuff in your car ( think more like the loadout screen for H&D2 ) for weapons etc... I also agree that I would hope we get more stuff to do Oh boy I just realized how dissapointed I will be if all the rumors have been false

I haven`t read any news yet but I saw a list over the companies and the games that are to be shown (maybe not a compete list) and Mafia 2 was not mentioned there. However there was a quote "In addition to the stellar line-up, two new and unannounced games from established and popular brands will be revealed for the first time at Games Convention 2007" So there is still a chance. Eventhough I have to say with all the places I have seen this rumors online I believe we will see Mafia 2.

Yes I remember this Mafia was released just after GTA III if I remember correctly. It has never ceased to amaze me that some people claimed that the grafics was better in GTA then in Mafia, even the cars in Mafia is better ( I have heard ) then the cars in Godfather which is alot more recent. I love Mafia and I have played it five times, first two times with a keyboard and the last three with my Logitech DFP. Playing Mafia with a wheel is a true treat as the physics in the game is great on the cars. Awesome feeling, just cruicing around, and the chases are alot of fun. However I do agree with the criticism on the game that it is to linear in the storyline, so if we indeed get a sequel now then I hope for more non-linear gameplay and a MP COOP part which I have always wanted in this game.

dont forget vietcong too they had a hand in that as well. another a1 first class game. Yeah I thought about it when I wrote the post but I was not sure if it was a 100% Illusion softworks product or if there was other developers involved so I didn`t mention it  Strangely enough I haven`t tried that game yet  Looks like there is no official word yet, so I guess they just save it for the conference which is just days away anyway.

I really hope it is game2, I am sadly becoming more impatient as I grow older

As much as I agree with you I must say that financially and in terms of competition a 6 year interval is alot. The competition will only increase in this genre I believe, especially now with next-gen technology hopefully bringing with it new sandbox games with vast areas.

Yeah so did I, I wonder if they have changed publisher now and are working on another game as well (hopefully next to Mafia 2) Not sure, but I think we will know more in the end of the month. The new publisher is "3D publisher" think it is Japanese which have said Illusion have one unannounced game for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 that aim for a fall 2008 release. This game is not currently belived to be "Mafia 2" though. I am to be honest quite happy just to hear something at all from Illusion again, they are great developers in my opinion.

Take two will reveal the games they plan to show in Leipzig later today I have read so hopefully we will not have to wait for a long time. Damn long time since a game made me so excited (not since OPF) if this is true. Illusion is next to Bohemia for me one of the top developers with the Hidden & Dangerous franchise as well.
