Because we used Blue Tiger Stripe Camo... Â Also, we brightened up the screenshot a bit. (It was very dark before) It looks slightly different in-game. Asmodeus

Everon Cartel News Announcement We have just released a NEW SAFE ADDON!  Image > 100 kb It's an animated safe and keypad combination lock interface accessible via the use of dialogues.  It allows mission makers to choose any six digit combination of the numbers 0-9 or the symbols * and # for unlocking the safe  To add to it all, LCD created another script to easily make a booby-trapped version of the safe that blows up real good in the right situation!  (look for more details in the readme and/or on our website) Get it here: http://www.everoncartel.com/news.htm and then just follow the news announcement or click on the "downloads" section on the left. You can see this addon in a mission made by me in the OFPEC BETA testing forum:  http://www.ofpec.com/yabbse....start=0 Please feel free to post comments here or e-mail webmaster@everoncartel.com Thanks! Asmodeus Please don't post images over 100 kb

No problem Supergrunt! Thanks for double checking it! @ Peanuckle Thanks for the feedback!! We are still ironing out the details, I like your ideas! The document will definately at least be "customizable" so that the mission designer can place a wide variety of things on there.. We will tell you more when we make sure it works correctly. (Our scripter, LCD is kinda busy with school right now, but it will be done very soon! Thanks!! Asmodeus
-
Hmmm.... Well... In that case Supergrunt.. It would be easier for us if you could send it to us and we could check it out for you. I just talked to our master scripter, LCD, and he said it would be easier for him to solve the problem this way. Let us know @: webmaster@everoncartel.com Or go to our forums below. Asmodeus P.S. The document addon will be released very soon with the script I mentioned above! (just finished the document part of it tonight)

Hi Supergrunt! Thanks for the interest! Based on what you've said, I'd be willing to bet that you did not copy over the description.ext from one of the example missions. Â Is that correct? If not, let me know and give me as much info as possible about exactly what steps you took. Thanks! Asmodeus P.S. Â @ Denoir, I'll watch the picture size next time... Â Thanks. Â P.P.S. @ Everyone We are working on a change to this addon that will allow the choice of a "random code generator" that creates a random code for the safe every time a mission is played. The code will be placed on a special "secret document" addon that we are creating that will allow the mission designer to allow the players to get the code various ways.

Hey!  This looks really awesome!! Just a suggestion though: Specify the OFP version required on your http://www.flashpoint1982.co.uk/  page and the beginning of this thread...  The only way I found out (without downloading it first) is to check http://www.dc3d.co.nz/skyhawk.htm  (Glad I saw that link of yours, Klink!  Also, none of the news posts I saw mentioned what version is required either..  Just thought it might help some of those out there who weren't able to get OFP 1.90 yet.  When I do get it, I will definately check this out cause it looks great!  Asmodeus
-
Thanks for the compliments! Cops and robbers is sorta what our mod has in mind... As far as making it able to relock... We'll look into it. Asmodeus
-
No, at this point it's intended use is for "documents" or other such things that would normally be in a safe. (We plan on releasing a small pack of objects to go in the safe if there is interest.) Or for the booby-trapped option, it's intended use is to blow you to unrecognizable pieces! Asmodeus

Hey there all you talented peeps at BAS! I was just trying to d-load this cool looking bird and the link doesn't seem to be working on yer site... It links to: http://www.concept-5.com/ballistic/downloads.asp# So, it's just a bookmark right now and takes me to the top of the d-load page! Please let me know where I can get my paws on it. I look forward to checking it out! (better late than never) Asmodeus

Fremantle class patrol boat + crew
Asmodeus replied to Major Fubar's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
hmmmm.... Â I tried downloading it several times and it gets to 563 kb and stops, then I try to unzip it and it says the archive is corrupted... Â Are there any mirrors? Â Asmodeus EDIT*** Well, guess the 5th time is the charm eh? lol I just got it (finally worked when I found a different source) and am gonna check it out now! -
I too had this prob and when I put my original OFP cd in, O2 crashes with an Illegal operation saying there was an unkown error in kernl32.dll  However...  I have made a few addons already without using the viewer at all...  The game itself is a viewer and when you are getting into making an addon, all it takes is a quick .pbo and your ready to check it in game!  Also, a lot of stuff has to be checked in game anways (geo lod's, fire geo, roadways', AI paths, animations....)  Asmodeus

Strange.. Â I've been getting into addon making recently and have noticed some strange texture problems also... Â Textures that are surely mapped and there when I make it and then not there on certain peoples' computers. Â (TAAB Addon) Textures that look clear on my friends' computer, but do not on mine. Â So.. Â I'd say (this is just my suggestion) update all your drivers for your graphics card and such, and hopefully that could help. Â (Hasn't with my probs though..) Â Asmodeus

I think the whole point of this is interesting... If I don't like something in this game... I don't use it. I personally like the LST, and have used it in countless cutscenes. It and the LSD look good next to the TAAB addon our Mod has made also... So.. Guess it all just depends on your point of view. Asmodeus

Tactical amphibious assault base (taab) released!
Asmodeus posted a topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Update from the Everon Cartel Mod: New Addon Pack available! You can now download the ECL_TAAB addon pack!! It requires OFP V1.85 and in the pack there are 6 completely new buildings designed for use in the sea, but compatible with land as well. Â TAAB stands for Tactical Amphibious Assault Base, which just refers to the overall design and intended use of the pack. Â This is unlike anything else in OFP that I have seen to date... Here's some more details of the addons included: ECL Isle-A small raised bunker on pillars with a radar dish, radar screen, and a helicopter landing pad on the roof. Â It has a perfect area in the front for defending with hand held rockets and 2 places for M2 machine guns. Â Ammo boxes can be setpos'd and hidden in the floor, but still accessed by the players! ECL Dock-This is a dock that works with Mark II pbrs, Russian Patrol Boats, the LSD Â and has a ramp that works with all amphibious vehicles!!!(bmps, m113s, brdms) The best way to use it with the LSD is to back it up to the ramp part of the dock. Â ECL Parking-This is a parking platform with a large empty front area. It is sized perfectly to fit with all the other addons. At the back of it, there is an area for "fast deployment" of the vehicles where the ground drops out. (you'll see! Also, you can place a dock at the end and it will fit perfectly. ECL Brrcks-A large barracks area with bunkbeds, lockers and a bunker area. Â It also has a raised command bunker on top of it. Â All of these are connected by ladders. ECL Platform-A flat large platform on pillars. Â Can also be used as a boat dock. Â Good for connecting all the above addons. ECL Platform_s-A smaller version of the above addon. And some screenshots: Barracks We hope you have fun with this addon pack! Â Please visit our website for more details and to download it! http://www.everoncartel.com/news.htm Also, please check the readme for more information and a known bugs list as well as credits and other info! Tactical amphibious assault base (taab) released!
Asmodeus replied to Asmodeus's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
The sub is a project that we are still working on. Â It definately won't be released until it is done, and probably not until our campaign using it is released... Â Thanks for the interest and compliments! Â About the aircraft carrier looking thingy you want... Â There are some actual ones already in progress that I know of... I would wait for that if you want an aircraft carrier. Â However, in the ECL_Island.intro sample mission, you will see a little to the North of the base you start in is a large runway that I have successfully landed and taken off of in an A10! Â Asmodeus P.S. For those missions to work, you must have editor update 1.02 due to the fact that I setpos'd sandbags for the M2 machine guns as well as put warning signs in certain places.... -
Tactical amphibious assault base (taab) released!
Asmodeus replied to Asmodeus's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Ooops! Sorry about that everyone! The read-only thing was due to Kaliyuga's cd burner... For some reason it does that to all files he burns... As far as the missing addons for the mission... Very strange. Thought I took those out.. But I double checked the mission.sqm and did see those addons in the ECL Island one... The TaabMission one looked fine and should work. RIght? I have uploaded the updated version where the files are not read only and the missions should be fixed. (same place) http://www.everoncartel.com/news.htm and then just click on the "downloads" link or the "get Taab now" button on the news page. Also I have uploaded a zip with the 2 fixed missions in it, if that's all you need. http://www.everoncartel.com/missions.zip Thanks for the feedback on that stuff! Asmodeus P.S. Never saw any of the newer Bond movies... Is that what you're referring to? -
Yeah, this game's AI is a part of the reason that I love it so much! Â It's difficult becuase it's realistic, like you said.. Â The game boasts that it's a battlefield simulation, after all. Â I find myself seeing more and more that this simulation is so well done that it is a form of training, as philcommando said above. Â I see this as a great achievement in gaming. Well done BIS! Â And yes, Steal the Car is a great mission! Â Simple yet difficult. Â Can be short or take a long time. Â (I've beaten it in 2 minutes a million times by now) Â And it taught me many things about moving around safely and taking out enemies from safe locations. Â Asmodeus

Hello! Â Just wanted to interject here... </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">That system is at the lowest end of what OFP:R will play on. If you play in any mission that has many AI units or smoke and your computer will switch to powerpoint presentation mode. 32MB is far to small to hold the textures required for OFP:R so they will have to be loaded / unloaded which will definately impact performance. <span id='postcolor'> That was when you were referring to the </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">600 MHZ system and flashpoint runs fine... I doubt whether that is the problem as i also have a 32mb graphics card too...<span id='postcolor'> I just had to say that I play OFP (and have been for a while) on a Celeron 566 mhz, 256 MB RAM, 16 MB Voodoo 3 graphics card, philips acoustic edge sound card and a Western Digital 7200 rpm hard drive. With that slow of a system, OFP runs fine! Â I do have to turn down some of the graphics of course, but I design missions and have been able to make battles with 160 AI + and it still runs fine on my box. Â So... Just had to point out that OFP runs well on a variety of boxes and you don't have to have a top of the line one to enjoy it. Â BTW, Alpha, you have a cable modem with 500 down?! Â Isn't that pretty slow for cable? Â I would try going to www.speedguide.net and download a registry fix if you have win98/me/2K. Â That might be part of the prob.. Â Also: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">what does frame rates slow it down& view distancstem Information<span id='postcolor'> I'm not sure what you meant by this Alpha, but as far as viewdistance, yes that would affect the performance of OFP. Â That command also changes the AI's viewdistance as well! So it takes a lot more cpu power when raising the viewdistance! Â Asmodeus P.S. My benchmark was 977 until I got the 7200 rpm hard drive, then it went up to 1083.

Hmmmm.... Best mod all around huh? Â Well, as you can see by my signature.. My vote is kinda swayed... Â BTW, noticed our links weren't working in Watermans' post! Â Â Stop sampling the goods before you make your delivery Waterman! Â Â lol OFP and Official Everon Cartel Forums http://waterman.conforums.com/index.cgi Official EC Site http://www.everoncartel.com But, other than that.. I've also been watching operation northstar and DKM. Â Â Both look good! Â Most mods seem to be doing great and are all quite original from what I can see! Â Very cool indeed. Â Asmodeus P.S. Â Our website will be moving to www.everoncartel.com within the week! Â

Hello. This is Asmodeus again, I first posted on page 3... To continue my tale of woe.. Â I have now completely uninstalled Operation Flashpoint by manually deleting all files using windows explorer. I then edited my registry, removing all operation flashpoint registry keys. I then cold booted. I reinstalled operation flashpoint using the original cd. Â It told me operation flashpoint was already installed? Â So I told it to reinstall it. Â (BTW, I was also installing it on a completely different hard drive, my main hard drive) After reinstalling it (with no errors or problems), I launched it and went to the campaign. Â I tried to start it and it crashed to desktop. I applied the first patch (V1.20) successfully and then tried to play again. Crash to desktop right away. I applied the next patch (V1.30) successfully and tried to play the game... Crash to desktop right away. I applied the next patch (V1.42) and here's what it said: Verifying Operation Flashpoint, version 1.30... Error found in file Campaigns\1985.pbo (de2cd348!=2cdd8f6b) Error found in file DTA\Data.pbo (280a6e43!=91d7bc44) Warning: Error found in file AddOns\ch47.pbo (118962a6!=b0328e20) Operation Flashpoint: Updating version 1.30 to version 1.42... Operation Flashpoint patch 1.42 has been applied successfully. So... I tried playing it and it gave me this error: Cannot load texture data/ofplogo1.paa So, I did a search for that file on the original ofp cd and it is not there. Â I did a search for all .paa files and there was only: coop.paa flagfight.paa capture.paa (There were multiples of these, like coop1.paa or somesuch, no ofplogo1.paa) So now I have no idea what to do... Did I miss some registry entries perhaps? Â If so, can someone please supply me with a list of all registry entries that ofp makes up to V1.75-V1.85? Â (I'm not sure which because the 1.85 patch was supposedly applied successfully..) I am getting desperate.. Â Please let me know about this. Â Otherwise I will have to reformat my hard drive, reinstall it again and not go past V1.75.... BTW, I work in tech support, this is why I am so detailed about this problem.. Â I know how it is to work with many different computers and the many different configurations possible. Â I've provided you with all the information I can get on this problem, also I have tried everything I can think of. Â Any help will be greatly appreciated! Â I love Operation Flashpoint and can't work on my Mod! Â Asmo P.S. I have also messed with the preferences, setting everything to as low as possible and it still has not helped what so ever... If it helps, my system is: Intel Celeron 566 Mhz 256 MB RAM Voodoo 3 Phillips Acoustic Edge Soundcard Generic Gateway Motherboard

Well, my problem started like these problems... </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Quote (Long @ Oct. 14 2002,194) My 1.85 simply does not start. Patch went though without error, but after "clickClick" nothing happens. Strange...... Btw. fresh installation I have the same problem. Resistance logo appears on the screen and then dissappears but nothing happens after that... I tried again with clean install, but didn't help.  <span id='postcolor'> And then got much worse!  First install of the patch went fine, no errors.  Tried to start Res and it showed "Resistance" on the desktop, then made my screen black, then CTD right away..  So then I checked this thread and saw that it could help to copy the missions and mp missions folders from the res cd to my opflashpoint directory on my hard drive..  Did that, no dice.  So then I tried to uninstall Resistance so that I could uninstall 1.46 and start all the way over..  When trying to uninstall Res (from the cd or from the start menu), I get this error: Could not find file  ...Programfiles/OperationFlashpoint/uninstall/resistance.log  So then I did a search for that file and sure enough, it's not there.. It's not on the Res cd either.. So then I tried to uninstall V1.46 and got this error: Could not find file ...Programfiles/OperationFlashpoint/Setup.log So then I did a search for that file and sure enough, it's not there.. It's not on the original OFP cd either.. Ok, now I started feeling:  So then out of desperation I tried reinstalling the V1.85 patch (after rebooting a couple times)  and got this error: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Operation Flashpoint: Updating version 1.85 to version 1.85... Hey everyone! I just have to say that I am really looking forward to this patch! When I first saw that list I was freakin amazed! And very happy too. There's too many good things to mention everything that I'm really happy about, but I just want to say I'm real glad about the silenced pistol, Res sniper, helicopter landing height fix, tank changes, dynamic vehicle classes and fixing the stairs... Of course everything else too, but I was really crossing my fingers for that stuff! So, I want to express my gratitude to all of you hard working programmers and thank you for your support of the community! *Asmo raises a glass* Cheers! Asmodeus
