Language in games? Can't think of many that haven't already been mentioned. I like it in AA, when an OPFOR guy throws a grenade, he says it in what I beleive is some kind of Slavic dialect. Russian maybe? </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">English may be the pre-eminent language in the world today, but the fact is that it's one of many. <span id='postcolor'> Yeah, but it would be alot easier if the whole world spoke one language. I haven't used any of those weapons ( ), so I will vote based on world-wide usage, ie: FN-FAL. If it was such a bad weapon, then 90 some countries wouldn't have used it. Don't you think?

It's good as a quick reference but terribly inaccurate. <span id='postcolor'> True, it's a good site for quick references, but I haven't found anything better as of late. In alot of their articles, they usually quote government sources, which usually works for me.

This isn't supposed to be in this thread, but I'm just adding to the current conversation. In my opinion, when the war is over, it won't really matter if Saddam was hiding chemical/bio/WMD afterall. The real judgement on wether the war was just or not will ultimately fall to the Iraqi people. If they are happy, then we'll all be happy. I just saw the eleven o'clock news, and they were showing videos with coaliton troops advancing towards Baghdad, with all kinds of people lining the road waving and smiling at the Americans as they drove by. I just hope that Iraq will stay stable after the war, looks like a job for the U.N. Â Â Hey, maybe I can grab a tour over there if Canada decides to go. I really should learn some Arabic. Hey Avon, what happened to your postcount? </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Posts: 3151<span id='postcolor'> You posting in the negative now?

The article seems to be about console gamers only, and I would agree with that assesment. I spend more time reading 'Time' magazine than I do playing console games, because I have never owned a console, ever. Consoles suck! That's why I waste my money on PC hardware and software.

I'm going to correct some factual errors here, regarding the M1A1 in GW1 From FAS.org, which lists this reference to a book. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">During the Gulf War only 18 Abrams tanks were taken out of service due to battle damage: nine were permanent losses, and another nine suffered repairable damage, mostly from mines. Not a single Abrams crewman was lost in the conflict. There were few reports of mechanical failure. US armor commanders maintained an unprecedented 90% operational readiness for their Abrams Main Battle Tanks. <span id='postcolor'> </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I wonder why the Iraqis fired the RPGs at the rear of the tank? Do they think there's too much armor everywhere else, so they were just hoping for a disabling shot and got lucky?<span id='postcolor'> Rear end of an Abrams. The Abrams series of tanks aren't as indestructable as some people think, yes they are among the best tanks in the world but like every piece of Armour, there are always weak spots. At the rear of the Abrams is the engine grill, this is where the armour is thinnest, so a couple of shots from an RPG might be able to do the trick of taking out the engine, turning the tank into a 70 ton pill-box. Shots at the engine grill, tracks, and optics on top of the turret can be made to disable the tank or reduce it's effectiveness. So there. Tyler

Well, nothing about the Maine can be said for sure, but I doubt it was blown up as part of a big conspiracy to start a war. Saying that is like saying the attacks of September 11th were huge government conspiracies, made in an attempt by arms suppliers to get rich. Tinfoil hats anyone?

I got my original copy in November of 2001, I didn't even know the game existed until a few weeks before.

Holy crap! It's only taken them 2 years to get this far. I hear that we will see the game in 2004. The graphics in 'Mafia' amazed me, and the people who made (Illusion Softworks?) it are making H&D2, so I can't wait to see it.

I just reinstalled OFP after is was off my system for a few weeks. There is a certain problem that I have with regards to the game freezing for no reason. It seems to freeze (looks like a slide show) and unfreeze at regular intervals of 10 or 15 seconds each. It does this no matter if my settings are high or low or if I'm playing 1.46 or 1.91. This never ever happened before. I used to be on Win 2000 and the game worked fine, now that I am on XP this seems to happen, that is about the only coincidence. Any solutions? Tyler

Thanks for the help so far guys, I'll give it a try this weekend when I have the time to uninstall, re-install, and so on. I uninstalled my older driver for my GeForce 2 card and installed the newest one, and things only got worse. I hate computers.

The U.N. doesn't make things legal. The U.S. and NATO went into Kosovo without a U.N. security counsel resolution, so I guess we should charge Clinton with war crimes, right? I sort of wish that the U.S.S.R. was still in power, they kept the "third world" in line without giving a shit about bad press, do you think Osama bin Laden would still be wasting air if the KGB wasn't writing traffic tickets? Bahh! This isn't a political thread! Post this in the Iraq thread before a mod gets a brain hemorrhage.
