Serverdoc is nice, but as long as you aren't using XP, firedaemon just seems to be easier to use for me.
-
Yup, signed up to beta it, but I haven't heard a peep sice he said it was delayed becasue he didn't have time to work on it.
-
Yup, all props go to the Rock! He did all the legwork,I just mashed a few buttons:-)

Othersmay be closer, but were in Milwaukee, WI incase your still searching... -
where is it possible to play seriously ?
Angry Radish replied to metaldivision's topic in MULTIPLAYER
The Server is located in Milwakee, WI (USA) ....I think thats what you were asking... Stop on by tonight! -
All I want right now, is The ability to enter commands directly into the Ded-Server console, and Logs. W/those two, we could work on the OFP version of adminmod, and really start making ded-servers more playable. That way, we wouldn't need to hack together ingame menus, we could just as easily have the admin prog parse the logs and perform commands, etc... Ahh.. I can dream, can't I?

Is it just me, or does this voting bit bring back memories of Tribes1 voting?

You can stop by and try out Radishville (208.251.17.94), but I'm afraid we do talk there as well Some things you can't avoid when there are regulars on a server. -
I just figured out what has been bugging me about your cfg...you need to include the .islandname at the end of your mapname. like template = CH_Take St. Phillippe(2-20).abel; or whichever the island is... everything but the .pbo extension. That should do it!

I Believe it should be cadetMode = 1; Lemme know if this doesn't work. Also, about the showing up in ASE 2x, it's 2 diff ports, mine does that as well hostname = "KaRRiLLioN's OFP BootCamp (209.193.133.66 FULL T-1)"; passwordAdmin = "adifferentpasswordthanthis"; // password to protect admin access motd[]= { "||OPERATION FLASHPOINT BOOTCAMP", "||HOSTED BY KaRRiLLioN=AR=", "||ATHLON XP 1900+ 1.5GB RAM ON DEDICATED T-1", "||ENJOY!", }; // Welcome message motdInterval=4; voteThreshold=0.5; // when one half agrees, this is enough to confirm a vote reportingIP="master.gamespy.com"; // private server - no reporting voteMissionPlayers=1; // start voting when 3 players connect MaxMsgSend = 256; MinBandwidth = 768000; Maxplayers = 20; class Missions { class Mission01 { template = CTF_Bay Conflict(2-20; cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 5; }; class Mission02 { template = CH_Take St. Phillippe(2-20); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 100; }; class Mission03 { template = TDM_The Race(2-12); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 5; }; class Mission04 { template = CTF_Island Conflict(2-20); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 5; }; class Mission05 { template = CH_Take the Island(2-20); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 100; }; class Mission06 { template = TDM_OH58 Challenge(2-12); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 5; }; class Mission07 { template = CH_Conquer Two Towns(2-20); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 100; }; class Mission08 { template = CTF_Small Island(2-20); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 5; }; class Mission09 { template = TDM_Runway Rampage(2-20); cadetMode = 1; }; class Mission10 { template = CH_Conquer!(2-20); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 300; }; class Mission11 { template = CH_Tiny Island(2-20); cadetMode = 1; param1 = 1800; param2 = 100; }; };

Sheesh, kids with new toys, I tell ya..... I really think we ned a poll forum so we don't have to wade through so much useless tripe just to find actual text posts...

Agreed, we aren't going to be taken down by a script kiddie:-) All they can do is d-load and mash a button. Now shhh! He may run out of free AOL hours soon. Also, if any moderators would like to send me the logged ip for the script kiddie, i'll just block the subnet and be done with it. now back on topic!

Definately all true, especially the fact that the aiw is clocked lower than the regular 8500. The benchmarks I've seen has only scored the 8500 higher in some of the higher res at 32b color depth, and even then, the results were a bit mixed. While benchmarks are great, I still thought the anti-aliasing on the 8500 was better, but then it's personal preference :-) If there was an alternative to the AIW for good DV capture,tv tuner, etc... from the nvidia side of the fence, I would have grabbed it....
-
I took out my gf3 64m ddr and slapped in an all in wonder radeon 8500DV, becasue I needed the dv capture abilities, etc..., and overall I was pleased. OFP seemed to run better at higher res (1600, etc..), but I had a strange lag after playing for awhile, which only got worse the longer I played. It went away after reboot, but returned every time after a period of play. I made sure my bios was up to date, got the newest drivers for all my stuff, no luck. I ended up putting the 8500 in another machine, and put the geforce back in, and what do ya know, the pausing stopped. In the radeons' defense, ofp was the only game I had problems with, but since it's pretty much the only game I play these days, it had to go.... Anyone ever hear of a MB with 2 agp slots? i'd love to run both cards since the radeon doesn't perform nearly as well on the lower end system I have it in now :-( If your looking for ofp performance, I would definately say go for the geforce

Do you have any addons installed?
-
Now now, don't feed the trolls:-) hmm...you know, this forum hasn't had a god thread yet..... And as a sort-of-used server, We see lag spikes when folks join as well.
-
If YOU are the one saying xxx is down, just select that player using f-key, and select "...is down". that works for me at least.
-
Are you running it as a serice using firedaemon? either way, make sure you are setting the service to restart if it fails, and the server should take care of itself pretty well.

How to stop people from using their Microphones
Angry Radish replied to quibbly's topic in MULTIPLAYER
it eats enough bandwidth... plus, you can't prevent the idiot children from spamming global comms with racial slurs, music, etc... The only thing I do, is either start kicking recent joins, or look at the bandwidth usage on the player screen, the highest users are usually the culprits. If you kick em, and the voice stops, wait till they rejoin, do a #userlist, and add the ID to the ban.txt file Till BIS gives us the ability to turn off this useless feature (at least useless on pub servers), we can't do too much. -
The only reason I took out my 64m GForce3 DDR, was to put in an ATI All-in-wonder 8500dv. While I liked the graphics on the GF3 better, I wanted the DV capture ability, and the TV tuner, rf remote, etc.. so there was a tradeoff involved... With the new drivers, I haven't seen too many diffs in speed now in OFP at 1280 res. Just my 2c...

yup, i couldn't stop saying 3, is down, over and over...kind of annoying when you have to leave your own server:-) that didn't help either though, as ther AI player kept saying it when I left, we had to change maps to get it to stop
-
I agree, the vehicles would probably only be used as targets, or to lend some realism to the environments, I doubt they would be riding in them, but I still think they will either have to have some serious horsepower single processors, or they will have to have some custom coding for clusters, or else they will either have to stick with training small unit movements...donno... It will be interesting to see how the final product works out either way...
-
I doubt they will change the API, but maybe it will force them to change portions of the code to allow multiple processors, especially if they are having to support a large number of trainees on the system, which would provide a bit more breathing room for larger servers.....at least we can hope :-) My big fear though, is that we won't be hearing much from BIS now that they have a Gov't contract...they have already peaked in units sold for flashpoint, it's only a matter of time till it turns into too much of a resource drain, and everyone moves onto other things.
-
I can verify that the mem usage gets that high...Our server is a w2k server as well, with only 1 ghz processor, (since flashpoint doesn't use more than that), and 1gb ram. I've had mem usage go even gigher than 600 from time to time, especially during some of the larger maps. Reduced CPU usage would be an incredible bonus, as that is our current limitation as well.
