It is always the same shitty thing! If your island is big enough you will easily beat everyone by the year 1780. But if it is too big and you gotta share it with one, you can still beat the others by 1945. If the island is more like a huge continent than you will be surrounded by assholes that attack you with their huge huge armies and blow your empire to dust by by the year 1300. If your island is too small you just start to suck....you will survive but suck (without any great battles)!!!! After I learned how this game worked I basically automised every little unit... but then I hardly had to do anything except chosing which technology to develope next... but that is how I got bored. After an evening with CIV III I need a night of Wolfenstein online as therapy

BTW, have you seen the report on the TAMIL TIGERSon Sri Lanka yesterday on CNN? For the purpose of raising funds they create films of their battles. In fact they train hundreds of suicidal camera-men that stay right on the front-line and film the action. Those films can then be used for training purposes and "promotional" material to send to Tamils abroad to raise funds. Yesterday, they showed some of those "films" and it was astonishing to see how right in action those camera-men were. I have never seen so real images of war. And the most terrible thing was to see how one of the camera-men substitutes another one just shot dead! They fall like flies, just for the purpose of creating terrible images. Rotten.com is nothing else than the poor beginning of what is coming towards us! I am sure that soon you will find the uncensored films of the Tamil-Tigers battles on the net!!

Me too!!! I bought it cause all magazines were praising it. But why?? I played months on CIV I and realy enjoyed it, but what the hell has realy changed since then. Screw statistics!! You never always know all the elements that are included or being left out! Just take a regular look at your local newspaper and you know that there is a very precise focus-group for crimes. Especially capital-crimes such as drug business, prostitution and car-stealing-dealing are in the hands of ethnical minorities. Of course you could now say: how rassist you are Albert!!! Do you know this old yoke about hell? No? Okay I make the short version, just be a bit creative and expand the story! Albert dies and comes into heaven. Totaly happy that he did not end up in hell he lives his first few weeks in the cozyness of heaven. But after half a year he gets bored, no sins, no soccer, all angels are, and want to stay virigns. Terrible. So goes to Petrus and asks him what he could do against his boredom. Petrus sais" well, why dont to take a trip to hell, and you will happily be coming back"! "good idea" and so he booked a trip to hell. On the great day he arrived in hell he was warmly welcomed by two demons and his lugage was brought to his room. On his bed there were already three beautyful hot women lying half-naked and waiting for him and there was table full with the best grilled Spare-ribs ever and litres of beer. After a adventurous evening he has to return to heaven. He is so sad to go back and so in love with hell that he has problems to settle back in in hell. After a week he books another trip! Nothing had changed, he was welcomed in hell with the same "benefits" as the last time he went there! So when he goes back to heaven he takes a decision. He goes up to Petrus and sais: "I want to stay in Hell, I thank you for everything but hell fits me more, you know!" "As you wish" sais Petrus. When Albert returns to hell, the two demons are waiting for him. But this time they dont bring him to his room but throw him into pot where they cook him at 100° celsius. Then they cut him into pieces, burn him, and put him back together again. Albert asks the demons: "why do you hurt me so badly, I mean the last time you treated me like a king and now..you.you treat me like devils!" And the demon sais: " well of course, we know how to differentiate between tourists and immigrants!"
