Just follow the following logic. Saddam, as most dictators has no ideological boundaries with  religion. There might be an evidence of weapons of mass destruction (which are propbably no longer stationed within Iraq). If the last tape that has been published of Osama Bin Laden is authentic (there is no proof against it), then we can also say that he in no way mentioned the upcoming Iraq-war. Didnt he think it is not important to mention or didnt he see any connections between Saddam and him? Saddam, maybe funds the palestinian suicide bombers, is he therefore a threat for the US? What is he gonna do? What weapons does he have to be building in order to harm the US? Do we just talk about bombing embassies or do we talk about intercontinental missiles? The next question would be, why should he do it? He has no religious motivations. He is not a risk-taking person, cause otherwise he wouldnt have wiped out everyone in his family who could have endangered his power-monopoly. He also must be a very foxy person cause he was able to stay in power after a lost war, he was expected to get stoned by his generals. So what goddamn reason should Saddam have to attack the US??? what goal??? And what do you think he assumes would be the consequence??? There are some things I read throughout the last pages that I would like to clarify. Saddam didnt gas his own people. He gased the kurdish minority. This minority was funded by the American forces to attack Saddam from within. But unfortunately in the end the kurds didnt get the expected support (which they were promised) and were wiped out in a quick action by Saddam, without having had the slightest chance. Or why do you think the kurds now refuse to cooperate once again with the US, and why do you think the US right now feels obliged to protect the kurdish teritory in Iraq?  (I guess remources) Why cant the government control the press? Of course it can, there are two strategies to make the press and media work your way. Number 1 is you impose rules that forbid them to do things, but that would be against the freedom of press.... and then there is solution 2 which is to reward the press for doing the right thing. A good example is not only the funding of the film "we were heroes" (under the condition that the script will be modified as much as the military authority wants it). And the second is that only members of the press that have turned out to be governmental-friendly will be allowed into sensitive areas and therefore get the competitive edge over their critical competitors from other publishers. Want an example? Did you see that during the last training in Iraq only a selected amount of journalists was shown the war-room? The message is clear: if you want the story which your newspaper needs to survive then we must like you, and we like you if you express in your articles that you like us. A win win situation. And the second solution would be that no journalists will be allowed on the battlefield. And may I remind you that this was not the case in Vietnam. And I can also proof to you that pictures of dead Marines were publicly shown during the war. Times change and the US government has learned their lesson. The lesson was that basically no enemy can keep up against their military strike-power and so the hardest battle will be fought on the home-front, within the own country. Propaganda has its revival!

Thank you, I can still learn a lot! Could you be so kind and inform me about the addon. What is the name, any download link? But damn, right now I got no personal computer connected to the internet, but post it anyway and I will write it up on a piece of paper! -
Oh you got me wrong on that one, I am sure the germans did the strategy of burned earth, with ALL the brutality that is required to carry it out. But I doubt the germans were applying it in France. As terrible as this sound but in your country it made a tiny tiny sense (if you totally ignore moral issues) I never compared the US with Nazi Germany. But after having studied the issue of propaganda for several years I know how difficult to detect it. Didnt you notice that the US has recently FORBIDDEN to show any pictures of dead soldiers? Havent you noticed that the American Army recently financially supports pro-american war-films? And havent you noticed that films like WE WERE HEROES never worked outside the US and only sold well inside the US. Now I dont want to blame anyone neither do I want to construct silly pictures of EVIL AMERICA but I want to make clear that there are things being done that move into the incorrect direction.

It is not about spining things, only the right key will work!

Ever send your soldier on a suicide mission. I did often do so to distract the enemy, and strangely your soldier follows your order like a good educated Naziyouth. This is no criticism but sometimes your soldiers obey orders that are just silly. Maybe in a few years we will have games where the AI is emotional

To speak openly (which all of us should do). I mainly fear that the US will start with a great "new millenium colonisation campaign". After the Afghanistan campaign I doubt that Iraq will cause more than a 1000 KIAs on the american side (besides thousands of casualties on the Iraqi side which will be looked at in the same way as the Hitleryouth). the US has the right to liquidate any potential future threat, but not to conquer countries with potential resources. To me it is scary to look at it this way. What is next? Saudi Arabia because most terorist were born there? If the US would promise not to impose a US-friendly government on Iraq then for me everything would be fine *except the civillian casualties. Anyhow after Iraq there is no need to attack Saudi Arabia, Iraq has enough oil-potential. But I am scared, I am scared that the american population will be stoned with propaganda about the dangerous Saddam and noone will understand the real motivations. And I am scared that this will become a common practice> convince you population about jackshit and you will have the permission to do whatever you wish!

After playing so long I noticed that even super AI doesnt help them cause by now we all now about the AI flaws. But turning off crosshair is great, I must admit that. But what would make it even more realistic is breathing movements after running! Cause I am kind of anoyed about the fact that I rarely use vehicules (law victims) and do everything on foot (timezoom *4). And even after running more than Speedz Gonzalez I shoot like a sharpshooter.

Late at night, hell the maltese girls are just starting to go out! My point was that France has gathered great experience in area of dealing with foreign nations. They know about the conflict potential of starting a war in a sensitive cultural environment. THat is what I mean!

Could it be that France and Russia are dragging their feet about Iraq because they have HUGE oil contracts with Iraq?  Maybe it is all about oil to them too? <span id='postcolor'> maybe ... but we were there first .... then it would be unfair commercial concurrence<span id='postcolor'> Maybe it is just because France has a great great experience with foreign affairs because they have administered colonies for decades. And they cant have made too much wrong because not many colonies threw them out. But dont blame it all on france. Blame it on Germany if you want and blame it on me cause I agree with France and Germany

Link not work for me! Burned earth doesnt work for single villages, burned earth must include an entire ring and this entire ring must be vast enough to eat up the last supplies of an advancing army otherwise it is not burned earth. I dont want to say that you are wrong, but that lies in the logic of the strategy of "verbrannte Erde".

I want a OFP surfboat and a skateboard! Just thought I mention that here. If I may also mention here one thing then it is that there are several important vehicules still missing. I always asked myself why so much effort was wasted (not realy wasted, I know this might sound rude) to create unattractive models. One that could add new flavour to mission maybe in combination with a new map is the LCAC. A hoovercraft which is considered as highly effective and with great future potential. If you want a 1985 version then an modeller could still refer to the british versions. -
Switzerland, realy.. That country was still missing in this forum (if I am not mistaken). Ca va au chalet ou bien?
-
Ran I might be wrong on that, but France wasnt the right teritory for burned earth. Burned earth has the purpose of cutting future supplies of enemies. The only thing germans did when retreating was cutting water supplies, destroying bridges and and and... burned earth requires time and the germans didnt have the time to burn the densiley populated country. Burned earth was done in russia, and as the term sais, it means you basically burn everything, I doubt that the germans created a ring of burned villages to cut supplies. Why would you try to cut supplies from paratroopers anyway

Did you tell them to change formation to line and then a few seconds later back to the formation you wish. If I remember correctly then this was the way I did it. Even though I never liked formations. I positioned each and everyone where I wanted to have him. In other words the manual "find cover"

Pah, dont believe Denoir, he is lying to put the swedish army in good light. But we all heard to stories of swedish soldiers in the balkans who had to admit to their superiors that they lost some empty bullets. Most of them confessed in tears that they were searching the ground for hours but the one bullet did not redissapear. Of course the swedish are little tollerant concerning ecology issues and those soldiers in many cases were executed right away and left to dry in the afternoon sun. Many germans came home from missions and told the stories of desperate swedish soldiers willing to invest great amounts of money for an empty bullet. The empty-bullet-black-market in Srebrenicza was often the last chance to safe the life of a desperate swedish soldier.

yes, good sense of responsibility, keep the swedske skog (swedish forest? ) clean and keep recycling even during times of war.

Oil is playing an important role to the US economy. This does not mean that it has an impact if there would be no more, but simply the price fluctuations can have an terrible impact on the Wallstreet and especially investment behaviour of companies and in the end civillian purchasing behaviour. If you look at the GDP growth curve of the US from 1970 to 2001 and compare it with the corresponding development of oil-prices then you can see the following. The GDP shows is senstitive to oil-prices but especially fluctuations. And those fluctuations USUALLY caused the GDP-growth to drop heavily, especially those incididents that hit the middle east! Well the lesson of that is clear. Stable oil prices do not only ensure a stable development of the GDP, but it prevents hurtful hitbacks and even fosters trust in the national economy and therefore the willingness to invest. Well we didnt have many htibacks during the last years since Mr. Saddam was handicaped. But Saudi Arabia contributes more than a half to the annual OPEC oil-production and so they got the power to increase and decrease the amount of produced oil whenever they wish ("swing capacity"). This dependancy on Saudi Arabia as well as the difficulty to forecast the prices makes conquering Iraq so attractive. And yes we talk about "conquering" As churchill once put it: The americans always do the right thing, but only after they tried everything wrong. I doubt that the Iraq war is the final correct step even though it should be time by now after the US took so many desasterous decisions concerning the Middle East. Sorry guys but this has to be said... when you want war than you must be capable to face serious questions and you must be able to seriously justify your doings othwerwise war is unjustified, and then the dicator is working for your side.

Dont forget that basically ALL of Bushs team has a history in the oil business, even Mrs Rice has an Oil Tanker named after her. I will update you later on that cause I am busy right now. I will present their OIL-CVs to you. And guess what. Iraq is considered as the country with the second biggest oil-resources in the region after Saudi Arabia. So no american would have to be afraid of having to sell his silly SUV. In terms of mistrust and broken UN-laws Corea is far ahead of Iraq. But in contrast to Iraq Corea is REALY armed and has high risk of conflict-involvement. If the US wants to fight against a threat then they must have mixed that up or maybe the smell of oil just made them stoned! Either get into a serious war with a serious aim or keep playing Americas Army! Saddam is in a kind of very extremely vexed situation right now. While Mr. Blix is searching arround in his country the americans are getting ready. Is the war is gonna come anyway then Saddam is wasting time. He should get his army ready but that is kind of tough if th UN-inspectors are keeping their eyes open. If we think about it as a strategy then it works damn well. Saddam cant move a single finger right now, while the enemy is growing stronger.

I remember the little challenge of who has the best OFP stuntman performance. I guess the time has come you proof your qualitites! I herewith announce the official stuntman thread! Due to a terrible accident of my stuntman colleagues I started my own career! Below you will find several images including the dangerous bus-jump and the Tornado-infiltration-jump! Images: The day I lost my friends Stuntclown jumps over 37 buses, in the air jumping 37 buses, landing just in time getting the apples off the trees german chopper ruined I am coming!

First place as "most friendliest contributor" What? Do you know the meaning of that? Do you know how much you destroyed my aims and goals? Being the friendliest basically means: 1. Albert has no opinion, so he got no reason to ever be unfriendly. He agrees with everyone, as long as he is allowed to participate. 2. Albert is an ass-kisser with an opportunistic attitude. 3. Albert is an enthusiastic and optimistic person (uhhh what an insult for a german) 4. Gay people are always friendly and polite so Albert might be gay! (how rude) 5. Albert has to be friendly cause he is weak and he might get hurt if he anoys people. 6. Children are considered cute and friendly---->Albert is perceived as a childish person. How can you do that to me. I am just starting my career and I want to become an evil boss one day. But you just bombarded my future dreams. I am gonna pay that back one day. Be aware

But have you ever seen a boat that is more than 200 metres away and still covers the moon? My first assumption would have been that thermic-fluctuations would have steered the light into a different direction (just like a phatamorgana). My second assumption would have to do with the eyes. If you stand inside a house with good light, or looking into the light of the moon then your eyes can still see colors, but see less light. But if there is little light around you, then your eyes turn off color-sight but your eyes become more sensitive. This is simply due to the reason that the little black&white sensors in your eyes work better than those for colors. So without yoking I would say that the guards inside a guard tower with certain light would see less than those in the dark. Â 3rd assumption. As you know are fisherman fishing at night with light. Maybe the germans thought someone would be fishing and maybe they even thought the old man had Parkinson and so he had problems to keep the finger on the light-switch, therefore the flashing

Click on the map on the left. Yesteday I watched a movie which tells the story of a soldier called Clemens Forrell. As most of his fellow compangnons he was captured in 1945 in Stalingrad, sentenced to 25 prison, and then brought to a working camp in Kap Deschnew (it took one year to get there and only 1/3 survived the marsh) was to be found in the east east east east end of the USSR, in the middle of the sybirian tundra and surrounded by snow snow snow (at least 2000km). Still he attempts to escape in 1949 and the fails. After a terrible torture he tries again within 3 years he travelled 14.203 km (most on food) and finds his way back to his wife, son and daughter in 1952. Those years are hard and colorful, The story of the next three years would be incredible if Forell were not at present living in Germany (1958) to bear witness to what happened. He learnt how to make the Siberian wastes an ally instead of an enemy; he fell in with wandering tribes who taught him how to hunt, keep warm and live off the land. He roamed about for a long time with three escaped Russian criminals, and survived their attempt to murder him. He stole, contrived, he endured, and all the time was drifting southwards and westwards and in the end could escape to Persia. good book good film and Incredible Story. Do you know any other great stories of men that have accomplished the incredible. Not necessarily WWI or WWII.
