Hah, BTW...dear american friends I got a great advantage... I got a site called netzzeitung.de that updates 24 times during 24 hours and always shows links to the most important new articles of the most important newspapers. And it is not too big...it simply refers to not more than 20-30 newspapers!

    Unreal ii

Would you please point out the differences between Unreal III and Unreal 2003. Cause I think Unreal 2003 was a cheap improvement of graphics. UT 2003 Is great to play but there is little new! I even think that the UT MP is kind of kiddy stuff sicne it is more of jump&run than using the weapons wisely. The best MP-game I played so far was SOF2...tough to play but a good equilibrium between jump&run and wise application of weapons!

Infantile is the right term! (should have used that myself). But infantility has a different connotation. Infantility is testing your little power against a big power! But we are behaving infantile in an issue that is tremendously important. I more and more have the impression that the Issue Iraq has become a background issue and the real issue is the powerstruggle between US and europe. I can assure you that for the germans it is especially difficult right now. We know that we have always fought for the wrong side during the last century and we want to take the right decision this time. But again we seem to play against the US (US usally having taken the right decision). But we have 2 mayor advantages! We know that a war against an agressor also hits many innocent people (soldier or not) and we are one of the few that can assess the impact of a war on home-territory (just like many other nations, I know). And thirdly we know that history provides may examples that a dangerous peace can turn out to be more profitable than a quick war (eastern germany). Taking the example of eastern germany we should know that even the most developed regime with the most powerful weapons and the strongest alliances can be beaten from one day to the other. Trust the americans for the pragmatism but trust their germans for their war-experience on home-territory. (what price did Hitler pay compared to the price german civillans had to pay).

(way too offtopic) but hell you are right, the entire western hemisphere is in a big midlife-crisis right now. Reference: Sales-figures of Propecia (against hair loss) and Viagra (well I guess you know). And finally of course we got those 42 year olds that more and more start to show up in teenager-discotheques. The best place to observe this is Geneva where wannabe-young try to impress 16-year old girls with their Ferari and Harley. Strange!!! It doesnt work!

    Counter terrorism

Maybe I am paranoid (only maybe) but during the last days I have seen many ugly people surrounding our hotel! They had suitcases with them and each of them carried a Quaran! When they gave their suitcases to the reception we noticed strange "ticking" noises but I dont want to show any prejudice so I guess I will just ignore those "indicators"

What would the UN do if Iraq decided to forcibly eject the inspectors once the threat of a looming war with the Coalition was passed? Hah, good question! If I would be Saddam I would have allready thrown them out so I would have more time to prepare for war and put my "dirty weapons" in place.

I dont doubt that...but that is not an issue right now. The issue is how  much support Bush et al. will have during the war on Iraq. A new peaceplan could shake the US support and redistribute votes. I too believe that the US is already at a point of no return (already 2 months ago). What now matters is the pressure that a new alliance of UN-countries can put on the US during and after the war.

Wait FSPilot, this plan is not considered as helpful by all nations. The US brought forward concerns! Have a look at Yahoo.com and find american feedback on the "mirage" proposal!

hell.......newsflash..... unfortunately I cant translate that but Rumsfeld and Powell are getting agressive... The article sais something like "if germany and france dont change their opinion within 24 hours they will dissapear into irrelevance" and Rumsfeld even accused germany of "disgraceful behaviour" Der Spiegel (German) Rumseld about germany The new german french peaceplan

Oh and by the way Solana said about the comments against Germany: Wir sollten den polemischen Kommentaren, die von der anderen Seite des Atlantiks kommen, keine größere Beachtung schenken (We shouldnt pay any attention to the polemic comments that come from the other side of the atlantic.)

Have you heard about the new european peace plan for Iraq? It was proposed by european leaders and if Russia particiaptes then it will even be considered by the UN. The idea is to station "Blue Helmets" in Iraq and triple the amount of UN-inspectors. Entire Iraq will become a "no fly zone" and Mirage planes will observe the entire country 24hours. Sounds good to me!

THat was just a preposition! Anyway I think the strongest american force is and always be Coca Cola and McDonalds. They have conquered and westernised more nations than an army ever could!

Fine, maybe some americans can help to stamp me! What am I? Am I geman because I was born there? Or am I Irish because I went to school there? Maybe I am french because I worked there? Or maybe I am spanish cause I went there for a semestre? Maybe even swiss cause I studied there for 5 years? Or maybe even Maltese (no please not these Machos) because I work there right now? Oh, I worked in thailand as well? So all I know is that I lived in western nations and I got an opinion. Do you now consider me as a "ah these wannabe pacifist germans" or "oh these frenchies" or maybe even "damn Irish prolitarians". Help me!

    The Iraq Thread

I am confused! Lets focus on the term: United states of America. Considering the cultural compatibility of the US and europe and considering the amount of equal economical interests Americans should understand that the ideological idea behind "United States" is simillar to those of the "United Nations". Just imagine that instead of United States of America we would live in a "united states of western nations". Then you could no longer staple us as "the germans with their perception" and "the french with their attitude" but you would have to consider us as people with equal rights to yours. Consequently a demonstration should not be seen as a rage against the americans but simply citizens expressing their opinion in a great big State. (I guess noone understands what I try to say). So Dont try to marginalise as a outsiders but consider us a group of you state that defend a certain opinion. By the logic of democracy you are obliged to take 85 million german votes seriously. My preposition here would be that we switch positions. Those of us that are against the war should try to defend it, and those that are for the war should try to find arguments that speak against a war. This is a strategy that "Board of Directors" take whenever they are stuck. (I guess you consider my idea to be silly, so it was just a preposition)

Screw all you facts and figures cause they hide the real ugly face of war. And as a german I can tell you that you gonna kill a lot of teenagers at the age of 17 upward. Those teenagers that have no ideological involvement with war but will be pulled into the army in case of war (do you see the connection with germany?). Can they refuse? No! Do they have a chance of survival? Do you have the guts to look into one of their faces and tell him: Listen, Saddam is an evil man, that is why we have to start a war and kill you!" You are destroying innocent lifes..and even soldiers can be innocent people. I hope one day some of you meet an Iraqi in an Kebab-quick-restaurant and have to explain to him why his little brother had to die! And suprisingly silly figures and stats wont convince him!

    I can see you!

My clothes allready reflect my environment. I am Mr. stain and after a busy day you can trace back from my clothes where I have been. People used to make fun of me because I always got stains on my suit right on the day it came out of dry cleaning. Of course my clothes adapt to all the countries I have been to. In switzerland I got mainly chocolate and racelette stains and In asia I mainly had stains from soya sauce. Now in Malta I guess it is green spots from seaweed and oil from repairing my car (shitty roads)

time can heal many wounds. Look at eastern germany or better USSR and China. I am convinced that if we keep the north Corean in a cold war then sooner or later we will succeed. Their government will have to adapt to the rules of globalisation otherwise face great bankruptcy (if it hasnt allready). Their percentage of investment into military will not be financable in the near future and I am sure that their government will break apart one day (even without a revolution by its people). Corean politicians start barking because they are aware of their secure way of going down

    The Iraq Thread

I doubt that the german government witholds so much information, otherwise there wouldnt have been so many official cases. We have many companies in Germany that contribute a lot to modern warfare and therefore it is no surprise that germany is right on top of the charts. Secondly is germany the centre of european illegal trade since it represents the connective point between eastern and western states. But the article is slick cause it implies that Schroeder does not want a war in Iraq cause he is aware of the threat that Iraq and it weapons bears and in fear that former secret trades become public. The BND (german secret service) of course has lots of information available on trade relations since after the reunification the merger of the eastern and western secret service tripled in efficiency and know how. But as a german you can trust me on that one. Schroeder simply refuses to join the war on Iraq because this is what he promised his voters during the election. There is probably not a single nation in europe that is so afraid of war than germany and the easiest way to win an election is to promise "peace". Now all the silly stuff that you interpret into the german decision is silly and purely hypotetical. And I must say I agree with Schroeder to a certain extent. A war on Iraq might have a brave intentions and a good outcome, but I see that the war has also very slick intentions. And I get disgusted how many nations choose to go the US way (turkey) in order to get a piece of the cake. Even if germany doesnt get any of the future oil-trade-contracts I wont care. One thing is for sure, Germany is a nation of 85 million people and the biggest in europe, sooner or later our vote will count and untill then I hope we do not learn to prostitute our values.

I am surprised you consider the article worthwile enough to post it here. Whether this article has interesting facts does not count to me. Fact is that it attempts to punish the germans for their pacifist position. A silly slander, nothing else.
