what are directed artillery strikes?

The speculation from Bushs side has always been: once we start that war the ideological discussions will end and people will rather talk about the daily events and battles. And they are right. Now we are just considered as the sissy pacifist complainers and a chapter of the past...

200 surrendered so far...this is very little considering the amount of propaganda that has been issued by the airforce during the last weeks (and of course on the radio). Lets hope those 200 are only the tip of the iceberg otherwise it will become a realy bloody war (at least for the iraqi side). And the point that has been missing here so far is that ratata baeng baeng beeeeeeeeeeoooooow-pufff kaboooom swisssshhh boooomm!

the last thing I would do is hope for a military desaster with many dead soldiers (or civillians)..but hell yes I hope Bush himself gets the bill for that one day...

What do terms of surrender mean to the UN? Appeasement does not work. Only the threat of force and the will to use will stay the killers hand. Im not happy with the campaign finance reform bill, nor the Patriot act as an intrusion to privacy. So i cant say i support Bush on all matters. But watching all the anti-freedom marxist hippies come out of their closet only helped make my decision for me in supporting the war. I cant wait to vote for the lesser of two evil come 2004. And i know Hillery Clinton wont recieve a vote from me. <span id='postcolor'> Great reason to support a war> not liking the opposition. You realy thought the issue through eh? dont waste forum space

I think he hasnt realy done a long-term assessment of the situation yet. If the US CONQUERS>OCCUPIES>COLONISES. Iraq then the initial war-costs will only represent a tiny share of the total costs. Most of the funds will be required to secure peace and to rebuild the nation. But since this war is a purely unilateral action by the US there will NOT BE ANY OTHER COUNTRIES WILLING TO INVEST FUNDS TO REBUILD IRAQ. What is he talking about? First we have to hear about all this "we can do it on our own you european whimps" and now we are expected to clean up what the american army destroys? Is he seriously saying this. While during the first IRAQ war the US army provided the fire-power other countries provided the required funds. The US will not be able to fully finance the cashflow required to fullfill their great great plans for Iraq in the long run. During the next elections a slogan like "bring our soldiers home" will give a hurtful boost to the democrats and the Iraqis will be left alone in ruins...just as it was after Iraq war 1. Elections? IS he mad??? how can you make elections in a country that has no democratic tradition. THe main oppositions in power are all Mullahs that would kick IRaq right back to the stoneage. Anyway, the internal economical crisis together with the high costs of protecting america against terorists has already caused one of the greatest decificts of the last decades. No, dear war-lovers..that you gonna pay yourself..guns are an expensive hobby! Could have told you that before But maybe you can finance it through merchandising. Like -patriotic-hero-movies about the war in Iraq. Dried fingers and ears of Iraqi soldiers as souvenirs. And in the end you could publish a book about "how we saved the world from a second Hitler".

Here u see all the parts that u would u be missing after one night in Malta. They stole my stereo and my atenna and two of my tires overnight...right opposite to a hotel with 24hour reception...hell those people love cars
-
I had all sorts of cars but mainly the boring german sort of cars...small cheap and safe like Golf and Polo and so... But in Thailand I had a super powered machine that looked simillar to that one... No kidding they tuned it up to 110 Km/h for me...which in Thailand is like signing the last will. the bumps in the roads there are not ordinary bumps..they are volcano craters...still I survived and I discovered the most beautiful beaches with it that I have ever seen in my life and probably will ever see..untill I return and will become GM of my own Resort Hotel

I say the GREEN BERRETS, why? Because they havent been mentioned so far and I wanted to show off with my incredible sophistication and knowledge of global issues and and and and ...did I tell you that I am good looking as well?

the entire thing started to get realy confusing for me. ...turkey could get 26 billion and the key to burn down the last resorts of the free kurds, AND THEY DECIDE AGAINST IT? ...why is there such a huge gap between peoples wishes and the actual deeds of their leaders ? Why does neither Aznar nor Blair pay so little attention to the opinion of their voters? Aznar decides against the opinion of 90% of his population and Blair provoked the largest demonstration in England SINCE 30 YEARS. Why does the powerfull Collin Powell suddenly turn out to be such an incompetent politician...showing pictures to the security council that 10 days later are publicily announced as null and void by Mr. Hans Blix? Blair? Not better! Why does Mr.Blair present a Secret-Service report on Iraq to the parliament claiming it would reveal the production of weapons of mass destruction? And why does this report turn out to be the report that an ordinary university student wrote 10 YEARS ago based on INTERNET-RESEARCH....? what the hell? Why does it have to be now that PEOPLE IN THE UN COUNCIL applaused to the speech of the foreign Ministre of France (Mr. de Villepin). The UN council had only applaused once so far in its ENTIRE history..and that was after the speech of Nelson MAndela. Why does it have to be now that the entire Arab nations during February conference vote against war.?..with 100% majority..for the first time in its history. Why is the reaction to a speech with the words..."now the UN will show its real value to the world" that even the most undecided countries take side and decide against war. How can a professional politician like Jack Straw be so unconcentrated and state that "in the 21st century wars might be morally justifiable"... didnt he think before speaking? .... hell after so much failure they should press for the final secret weapon and reveal the secret information they got about weapons of mass destructions. But I assume they also take snakes and scorpions into consideration.. and yes then I would agree....Iraq has lethal biliogical weapons.

Balschoiw. I am sure you know better about these units than me. Would be kind of arrogant to claim the opposite. I didnt know that every Gebirgsjaeger unit has a Hochgebirgszug as well. What I know about Mittenwald is that you either have to have to have good connections to get in, or you need to be a aristocrat with a title and u definetly must be very damn fit. My friend told me about international competition they had with other european nations. He told me that italy was kicked out because they didnt use their standard military Ski but brought along private equipment which they overpainted with their military colors....there we go again...the italians

The US managed to kill more UK servicemen than the Iraqis in the Gulf!<span id='postcolor'> The deaths caused by friendly fire amongst US forces was 20% (compared to own KIA) in Afghanistan and 18% in Iraq. The FF during the Afghanistan battles was mostly due to the fact that US pilots had to take drugs in order to stay awake during the long flights. These were the so called "go pills" for staying awake and "no go pills" for stopping their effect and enabling the pilot to quickly fall assleep. Most often US pilots attacked friendly forces DURING their training sessions. E.g. as with the canadians ground forces that were training and shooting at precise targets on the ground. Some of the bullets and the tracers bounced off the training-targets and into the air. The pilots assumed they were being shot at and in their surpressed fatigue acted too quickly without confirmation by their base. As always the pilots then believe they act in self defense. Gebirgsjaeger and Gebirgsjaeger can be too different things. The real tough units in this section are the Hochgebirgsjaeger which you only find in Mittenwald/Bavaria. The rest of the units profit very much from the reputation of those units. My best friend was in that unit about 6 years ago. I donnot want to evaluate the difference between a Gebirgsjaeger and a Hochgebirgsjaeger but the demands on physical fitness vary.

grrrrrr....welll okay you precise frenchie..so we see 2 armored vehicules with increased aromor and piece that another tank left behind...you ruin my quizz
-
No, there are 3 tanks on that picture (or 1 and 2 armed vehicules with increased armor). Cause the bridge isnt only simply a bridge..it is a tank!!! Â
-
Yes and England has the best trained high-terrain unit. Or the Saudi arabian rainforrest-guerilla! OH and by the way..do you know which country won the most important sailing trophy today...well eat this SWITZERLAND (and it is the first european nation to get it). Usually the trophy will next be held by the winning country..Switzerland....mmmhhh well...let me see.....where was the swiss coastline again?
-
Cause it is biased...if you use a reference..or a piece of evidence then it must be authentic!!!
-
Oh...quizz-question...how many tanks do you see on the second picture from Replicators post?
-
Ich will einen mit Leichtmetallfelgen, tiefergelegt, zwei fetten Subwovern hinten drauf, zwei Moechtemalgern Auspuffen (a la Turkei) und getoenten Rueckspiegeln.
-
and admit it..it would be cool to try out that tank in OFP..to see how it copes in battles...and how well it could do strike and retreat missions. The wiesel 1 was introduced in 1985..so still hot from the oven for operation Flashpoint 1985.
-
Look..well..I know those tanks look silly...reminds me of Spaceballs. Anyhow they are realy smart weapons. Chinok can easily lift them (less than 3 tons). And still they can hit targets up to 4000m. It can store 7 missiles and is pretty quick in any terrain (up to 70km/h; 44 mph). The size makes it more vulnerable but not necessarily badly armed. The WIESEL 1 ATM HOT is equipped with a modular weapon and sensor platform serving for anti-tank missions, observation, monitoring and reconnaissance. The stabilized sensor platform on the extendible mast enables observation and reconnaissance from a hidden and safe position. Among the integrated sensors are a thermal imager, a goniometer with a TV camera, a laser range finder and a close-range monitoring camera. Still, you were showing the old wiesel which is still in use but the Wiesel II is the modern version. The Wiesel 2 is larger than the Wiesel 1 with an additional roadwheel station on either side, a higher hull and a more powerful engine and more internal volume. It is therefore able to undertake a wider range of battlefield roles. The first production Wiesel 2 application is for the STN ATLAS Elektronik ATLAS Short-Range Air-Defence System now in production for the German Army. The Ozelot weapon platform version has four Stinger surface-to-air missiles in the ready-to-launch position while the platoon command post has the Helicopter & Airplane Radio/Radar Detection. Specifications (APC) Crew: 2 + 4 Armament: 1 x 7.62mm machine gun Combat weight: 4,100kg Power-to-weight ratio: 26.58hp/t Power pack: Audi TDI four-cylinder diesel developing 109hp coupled to a ZF automatic transmission Length: 4.20m Width: 1.852m Height: 2.11m Max speed: 70km/h Range: 550km Airportable: C-130 Hercules Status In production. The German Army has ordered a total of 67 systems based on the Wiesel 2 chassis for delivery from late 2000-02. Variants Other versions of Wiesel 2 at the prototype stage include an armoured personnel carrier; 120mm self-propelled mortar carrier; reconnaissance vehicle; ammunition resupply vehicle; and engineer reconnaissance vehicle. There are also many experimental versions.

I think they have no other options than to denie it!

oh, I am pretty much sure that many russians were forced into battle. I think you are too positive on that one.

reminds me of the planes I build for class-room purposes.
