Brigades, divisons, regiments... what's all that r

Ok, what about "unit"? Is that just like a general term describing some sort of combat element, or is it refering to something specific?
  2. This is a direct quote on how the new heart beat sensor will work: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">The release of Raven Shield will see a dramatic change in the way that players will see the data gathered by the Heartbeat sensor. Previously where data has been displayed on the map allowing the player to see the location of enemies or hostages, the new HBS (Heart Beat Sensor) will provide "more realisic" (my quote not Ubi's) data to the player The HBS device will change from the hand held scanner device to a visual device similar to a set of goggles, requiring the player too "look" through it and around their environment acquiring data. The visual representation of a Heart Beat will comprise of a pulsating circle. At the E3 show an in game demonstration of this, showed the player using the HBS much the same as a set of binoculars, and looking at the other members of his team seeing the pulsating circles eminating from their chests. When the HBS is used through a wall all the player will see is the pulsating Circles, and the direction from the player. No distance, or readily visible indication of good guy/bad guy/hostages, so it should be a little more intense entering a room. During the demo, the demonstator did say that it was possible to "deduce" who the bad guys and the hostages were, but his reasoning behind this could bring additional problems for players who don't know the location of the other team members. Bascially, if there are two heartbeats in a room, and one is slightly faster than the other then, it is logical to assume, that the faster heartbeat belongs to a person not trained, or comfortable with their situation i.e. a hostage/civilian. This obviously doesn't apply if there is only one heartbeat, and if there are lots, then good luck or patience will be required, and considering that we can assume that the players other team members will be as well trained then their Heart Beats may be harder to distingush from the bad guys.<span id='postcolor'> Ya get that? The hostages/Civillians will be NOTICEABLY nervous durring the missions. For everyone who wanted more realistic emotions from characters in their war games, there ya go! And, for everyone who didnt think Tom Clancy was in on making the games, check this out. This is a direct quote from Brian Upton of RedStorm regarding HBS: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">We _thought_ they were real when we were originally designing the game with Tom ... . <span id='postcolor'> I simply CANNOT wait! I say 'all the better'. I need time to get my new computer until then anyway. I know if i made my own game, it would go through YEARS of beta testing before it was even considered for release.

If you could live in any video game place....

I choose OTHER. Under the rationale that, in order to live in my videogame world of choice, i would essentially be living in that videogame. Which means i wouldnt have to worry about food, disease, sleep, where to take a shit, etc. So i choose a war-time environment where there are no laws and i would be free to build my fortress and hunt at my leisure If i went urban, I was thinking of Vilnius from Ghost Recon, or Kosovo from R6:Rogue Spear. Or if i wanted more of the great outdoors, i'd want Kolgujev. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (UKSubmariner @ Sep. 04 2002,170)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Probably the City of Lost Haven that's in Mafia..... 10. I feel the only thing OFP really misses right now is a No-Mans-Land island. A big, shapeless island, war torn into a complete battlefield. Imagine a more rolling, flat Kolgujev with slightly less forests and foliage, more burned out towns that are a lot bigger, are more spread out and cover a greater amount of land, rubble everywhere, destroyed vehicles, explosions and gunfire instead of wild life for ambiant noises, crumbling walls with holes that you could shoot through... I just think this would be the crowning glory for the game. Making fortresses out of old buildings, sniping from heaps of rouble, setting up machine gun positions at the sides of roads behind crumbling walls. Securing areas for forward firing posts. I think it would give a true sense of surviving warfare. What say you, the people?

After some carefull consideration, i had to pick The Ghosts. Not only do they just simply kick ass, but they helped bring my previous two favorite games, R6:Rogue Spear and DF:Land Warrior, together as much as they could be.

    On going war story

My name is Gary Goldman. I'm a gunnery sargeant in the 26th MEU. Designated marksman in my squad. The base camp where i'm stationed at the moment is just north of Tora Bora, and a ways east of Kabul. I'm just sorta hangin' out at the moment. Wondering why we aren't out raiding something. The afternoon sun was beautiful. It was very enchanting just sitting here taking in the surroundings. Then I heard some static coming from a radio. What i was able to make out was "This is Mako Two Four -----,---- Zero One Airbo---- need immediate reinforc------ and medivac. Is anyone recieving? We are in a world of shit!--------- support over!". I looked over at my squad leader who was standing right there, waiting very impatiantly for him to give the word. When i was about to ask him if we were going, he reached forward for the radios reciever, picked it up and tried reaching the entrenched airborn boys. "Mako two four Alpha, do you Copy? ...............Mako Two Four Alpha, hold your position, we are sending support, over!? ....." After a moment of no response, the lieutenant paused for a moment, and then looked at us. "What're ya waiting for, christmas!? You heard them over there, get your asses in gear!" With that, i headed straight for my equipment. My vest was packed with ammo. It was so heavy, i wasnt wearing it so much as it was wearing me. And that wasnt even including my Alice pack. I picked up my M14 DMR, and got back to the rest of the group. "Alright, heres the situation. Vasquez's One Zero One is down, we're going over there to reinforce them. Radio communications sounded pretty damn hectic, so we really have no choice but to assume its a hostile situation. Alright, you know the drill, lets pack it in!" With that, we headed for the Black Hawk and loaded up.

First off, if youre talking about ninth graders, how old are they? A few years between the two of you wont mean shit ten years on, so why let it bother you now? If you're 17, youre not old enough to be pedophile yet, so i wouldnt worry too much.
