I cant wait to see the look on some future soldiers face when his suit says "This program has preformed an illegal operation and will be shut down". And then you click on the details and it says "Your suit caused an invalid page fault at........." LOL

since version 1.30 and ultimate upgrade 3, west has a new A10 plane. One that drops laser guided bombs. The bombs are guided by either the laser target designater on the kiowa helicopter, or the laser target designater that a certain black op day unit carries. They are very powerful. I took out 20 abrams with one of them. Its quite a challenge to get them to work accurately, but with practice, they can be VERY effective. Keeping in mind, i'm looking to make a script here still! -

I really feel its time we invented the longer lasting lightbulb, so to speak, as far as artillery scripts go. I have tried a lot of peoples scripts, all of which i feel are inadiquate (No offense). I feel they're inadiquate because of a lot of things. Lots of them use tank shells, which spread out too far, and arent powerful enough to really do the job. And others are meant for far too specific scenarios to be used in just any mission. We need a script thats basic enough to be used in any situation, and strong enough to actually ge the job done, and somehow be as realistic as possible at the same time. Iv been experimenting with the camcreate command and laser guided bombs, and i like what i see. The laser guided bomb is powerful enough to cover an area effectively, and is still a falling weapon similar to tank shells. Iv been having problems with my current system, because it relies on specific units to be there for the bombs to be created (they are created over them). I was thinking more of a system where maybe 3 or 4 laser guided bombs fall in random positions over an area designated by how big the trigger is or something to that extent. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to contact me any way you can, and we'll get something underway. I'd love to make this work. -

Couple questions about statistics. Is there any way to award more points than usual for killing a certain unit. I have tried the addscore and addrating commands, but they dont seem to work. Would they work if i actually exported the mission, or what? what am i doing wrong? The command i tried was like this. condition - not(alive man) on activation - player addscore 500 I tried this with both the addscore and addrating commands. Didnt work. Next, is there any way to show a name for the unit you killed on your stats sheet? Like, if i was to kill a high ranking officer and wanted to know that i did, could i make it so that i see officer (Vladimir) or something to that extent on my stats?

I'll second that! What i need to be an effective soldier (hypathetical based on all my gaming experience). -High powered rifle with equally powerful scope -ammo -Desert Eagle .50 sidearm -ammo for that -binocular\laser range finder -some form of easily deployed high explosive -A reliable GPS interface and tracking system of some sort -A fast way out of where ever i am, should i need it.

It'd be pointless to make artificial soldiers to fight for us. We would just be littering a hell of a lot as the outcome. How would we even fight? Bomb the factories where all the robots are being made with our stealth bombers that are AI controled, but get picked up by their AI controled "Anti-Stealth" radar, and taken down by their AI controled ion cannon, only to have our AI controlled Super computer retaliate by nuking them to kingdom come, and . . . . . . . .You ge tthe idea. No matter what scheme you hatch, there always has to be the brains behind it. Those brains will always be human. Want to foil the plan? Kill the brain. Its been said already. one battlefield sized EMP blast, and its back to 5.56-ers and pine-apples.

well, iv also tried using Mavericks starting at 0 meters high so they blow up right away, and just use a time delay in the script. And then i tried using satchel charges on timers. See, we're at a lack of a good medium explosive, mavericks being low and laser guided bombs being high. All the scripts iv tried are too weak. even one or two laser guided bombs falling randomly in a small area would do the trick. The thing i'm looking to change most is effectiveness. I need a script that uses weapons that can actually get the job done. -

I should also tell you i had one breakthrough with this. My system works like this. When you identify the units you will call in artillery on, it adds an action to your in game menu to exicute a script that simulates artillery on the units specified. My problem is accuracy and amount and position of ordinance used. -

well, the first thing i saw was the M60 machine gun, so you may want to consider using graphics depicting weapons that are actually available in DF2. Just a thought, thats what i'd do.

well, the fact that it was in veteran mode was why you got a star instead of those little pearl things, in case you were wondering. Other than that, i would say you did pretty good. I wouldnt worry too much about the score you got. Little story: I played the mission Sabotuer one time, and it went like this. I didnt even stop for the ammo dump, i went right for the tank base. I got myself up on a hill and picked off everyone i could find with my HK. then, when the coast was clear, i ran down and got in a T-80 as a gunner. I blew away everything. A chopper that was sitting right there, a shilka, a bmp, four other tanks, a ton of infantry, and i even managed to take down both of the hinds they sent to kill me. then, i got in as driver and went back for the ammo dump at Levie. Killed everything there. Then, i went back to the base, got out of my tank, put all my satchels by it, and went for the resistance contact just seconds before i lit the thing up. My kills included over 30 infanty, 5 tanks, four BMPs, a chopper, a shilka, and four trucks. I didnt even break 10000 for that, and i only got two little pearl thingies. So, yeah. sometimes it doesnt think youre worth it, other times, it practicly knights you.
