They were angry and jealous of all the cooler kids and so they wanted to show them off with guns and violence. That just makes them all the weaker and more cowardly in my mind. I just graduated from HighSchool in the year of 2000, and I never felt like them. In my mind they were pathetic losers. Â Why empathise with them??<span id='postcolor'> (forigive the lateness, havent looked in a while) I sure hope your miss spelling of my name is a mistake, otherwise you lower yourself to the level of all the other cheap-shot'ers that do the same thing. Your not being able to understand where they were coming from, and pointing out that you think they were pathetic losers because they hated the "cool kids", and not understanding how i could empathise with them leads me to believe that you were part of the groups of kids that filled people like me with bitter, endurring anguish durring those years.................or you went to a better highschool than they did. if thats it, than i apologize for that first part. Well it never stops. I understand how they fealt because i went through what they went through, maybe worse. And i know others who went through what they went through. And i know others who are going through what they went through. The "In Crowd", devided among its sub catagories it may be, is all the same. Stupid people getting by on their aperant good looks, thinking that if it werent for them, no one would have friends, while at the same time, they make peoples lives a living hell that doesnt end until graduation just because they happen to go a different path with the way they want to look and act etc. This is nothing to joke about for me. You know absolutely nothing about me, or what iv gone through, or whats in my head. Dont think for one second that just because you never had to go through what they did, that no one ever does. Consider all the good schools youve gone to a matter of good luck, because every school iv ever gone to has been nightmerish and traumatizing to say the least.

Would like veterans advice for upcoming mission

yeah, what iv got is getting better. Now iv got it set up like this You get dropped off via blackhawk, and then another blackhawk comes down and drops off the Ranger unit you're being deployed with. You synchronize watches with them, exchange plans and whatnot, and then they head off to do the "mission". I followed a lot of what USsoldier11B said, and added my own stuff to it.
  8. Iv got my sound in .OGG format, so now what?

iv managed to run over barbed wire blockades. the ones that can stop tanks But yeah, it is easy to just go around. Matter of fact, why not just hit the dirt behind them? More cover that way
  11. I was just wondering how many people out there are pro-plagurism? Stupid question, cause anyone who is, either wont vote at all, or just lie about it. So i guess i'm just asking everyone whos good enough to be honest about their opinion on plagurising other peoples missions and whatnot. In some cases, though, theres only so far one can go with originality before your good idea is just too essential to be left out. anyway, the floors open. P.S. Sorry about constantly miss spelling plagiarism......sometimes i hate the english language.

ok, for those that it may concern, the mission is this. You are a sniper (a black op actually, i like those better, since the snipers in OFP look terrible.), and you have a spotter. You are being deployed behind enemy lines on Kolgujev to generally mess with the enemy in a way only a sniper can. Your priorities are assassinating high ranking officers, generally demoralizing the enemy, and at one point, artillery designation (yeah, i know its not really a snipers job to call in artillery, but it fits the story line in this case......trust me). I'm making it as realistic as possible, while dealing with the confines of it being just a game, which means i'm pretty much compressing weeks of sniping activity behind enemy lines into one relatively small mission. There is no end to it, in a conventional sense. When you feel youve hunted enough for the time being, you may "disappear" at a location of my choosing (A certain forest there). Refer to a previous post for my real problem with this. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Aculaud @ April 14 2002,05:42)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Right now, i have it like this. The mission starts with your black hawk flying away and theres the resistance contact waiting for you. you go over to it, get in the jeep, and you drive to this town where you meet two resistance guys that brief you on enemy activity in the area, and then its off you go. This works pretty good for what it is, its just starting to feel like its too at your leisure. Would a real sniper be that safe? would he have a contact just waiting for him at his drop zone, and then just mosey on over to a resistance held town or what? Looking for realism here.<span id='postcolor'> I agree with USsoldier11B's advice, and i totally trust its accuracy to real life operations, but i dont exactly know how to integrate it into my mission. Any ideas would be apreciated.

    Jump?

i thought about this once. Would it really make it all that unrealistic if it was within reason of normal human jumping? In games like LandWarrior, it made all the difference in the world in some situations. Lots of beautiful simplicity with jumping. You could jump on to a boat and shoot from it since you werent locked into anything. But then youd have to be able to do things like tell your squad to jump on to a boat, and youd have to be able to write code based on it; "Jump from here to here" or something to that extent in a script and whatnot. And then theres all the jack rabbit people in multi-player that use jumping as practicly a cheat at dodging bullets, and the only way to kill them is with explosives. What that starts is everyone using only explosives since thats the only guarenteed way to kill anyone anymore. Then what we have is a bunch of grenade launching, rocket shooting, jack-in-the-boxes. This is years and years of faster paced, less realistic FirstPersonShooter veterancy talking. Jumping in OFP would be about as useful as giving the reds another chopper (No offense, red heads. You just dont need one more damn chopper).

ok, this is all good, its just not fitting this mission. How did i get there? Did a black hawk drop me off on kolgujev? Did i boat there and theres the civillian waiting for me at the docks? Right now, i have it like this. Stupid ai and their binoculars!

well, unfortunately, there is no way, to my knowledge, to simply make them use them. Actually, as far as AI goes, i think they're just for show. Once you identify a unit at 700 meters out, they automaticly pin point its position too. Iv also had AI guys do that without me identifying them first, and they werent even using their binocs. I dont think any optics have an effect on the perceptive range of AI.

  22. I want a trigger to activate when any specified unit is identified. I know it will involve multiple knowsabout commands, but how do i seperate them to make it so that the trigger fires when any unit is identified?
