Infantry can be fun in some ways. I cant stand being just a normal soldier, unless i'm Russian cause their iron sights are better IMO. I have to at least be a machine gunner, or LAW soldier or something.

Radio, only for one soldier?
Aculaud replied to =BFP=Cheetah's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Generally, no one in OFP uses the radio function except you, the player. Do you just want it to refer to one soldier or something? -
Id have to say some good old fashioned gore would be good. For a game with an "M" rating, not too much happens when you get fragged with a grenade, or get cought in the blast of an AT rocket when it hits the tank youre standing right next to.

I'll start by saying that preforming this task is a real bitch. I'm sure lots would agree with me. Having said that, i'll tell you what i know. While in the chopper, select two or more squad members at a time, and go to their action menu. there should only be one action available, 'eject'. tell them to do that, and they will parachute out of the chinook. Now, i said this ones a real bitch, and heres why. I strongly urge you not to tell your whole team to jump out at once, because they will get caught up in eachothers parachutes and die before they even get to the ground. there are scripts you can get from places like the editing center, or OFPN home that preform this as well, although its much more complicated to get those to work (at least it looks that way to me).

Lets see if i can be of assistance. For vehicles, its really easy to simply create them with no fuel, but have all their waypoints already set up. Then you set up a radio trigger with the command  "name of vehicle" setfuel 1     in the "on activation" field. So when you activate that trigger, the unit will be fueled up and it will simply follow its waypoints. For infantry units, its a little more difficult. I still havent gotten this one perfect, but i think i made it work before like this: Get your squad made up, and put their first waypoint pretty close to them, and then put the rest of their waypoints where you will. Then put your radio trigger next to their first waypoint and synchronize them (you should see a blue line between the waypoint and the trigger if done correctly). this way, they will hit their first waypoint and stop there until you hit the trigger.

Adjusting the height that my parachute falls from
Aculaud posted a topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
How can i adjust the height that my parachute falls from? I tried the flyinheight command, and it doesnt seem to be responding to that -
would it be possible to use an external MP3 file as part of a mission soundtrack?

does my intro\outro have to be on the same island as the mission they go to?

Could i put an mp3 into a mission?

Question about the overview screenshot
Aculaud replied to Aculaud's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
first off, youre not making any sense. Second, iv gotten screenshots to work on the overview, they just look like hell. I want to have a nice prefessional looking screenshot like the official missions have. -
yeah, i keep trying 128x64, and it always seems a little askew. I also notice that the official mission screens are a little longer than 128. I tried 192, but i got an error message. Iv seen user made missions with screens resembling that of official missions, so i was just wondering what the secret is on that.

can i get a template for the overview screenshot from anywhere, so i can make them perfect every time? Avon, maybe youve got one on the FAQ? i guess i'll go look now.

Iv started with this. My test convoy was 8 units long, and from front to back, it was: BRDM, BMP2, repair truck, ammo truck, fuel truck, URAL, T72, and another BRDM. Is this too many units? And how do i make them maintain a straight line?

or something to that extent? i just need to make a trigger that activates when the enemy just generally knows about me

Would this trigger condition work?
Aculaud replied to Aculaud's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
i dont need to check if anyones detected. I need the trigger to fire when any enemy knows about me. not just one specific enemy, anyone. I need a trigger that basicly says, If anyone knows about the player, this trigger will fire. -
Would this trigger condition work?
Aculaud replied to Aculaud's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
youre right, your not making yourself clear. But i got enough of that to know thats not what i need anyway. I'll say it again: I need a trigger condition that will go off when the enemy knows i exist in that vicinity. Something like: east knowsabout west > 3 or something to that extent. Is that possible? does anyone know a condition that would acomplish the same thing? Am i typing to myself here? -
my vote goes to special forces again, because all the choices of how you enter a mission can be done with any unit anyway, and thats my favorite one
-
My vots on Special Forces. Theres nothing more satisfying than sneaking in undetected, rigging everything with explosives, and getting out undetected, seconds before you light everything up!
-
Sorry about that last poll, this one is for real. I have no frame of reference for Red Hammer Spec Ops missions, never having played it, so sorry these are all american Black Op missions, but i still want your opinion. Which Special Forces mission do you enjoy the most? NOTE: I left out Search and Destroy and Red Dawn, because although you play as a Black Op, you are also leading a whole squad to acomplish your objectives in practicly broad daylight

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Warin @ Mar. 18 2002,22:41)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I should try it again as Mr Stealth and blow the tanks with charges like i am 'supposed' to.<span id='postcolor'> thats fun too, but its so satisfying to rack up ALL those kills by the time you complete the mission

k.........................still need help, here. BIS was able to do it, theres gotta be someone out there who knows

Would this trigger condition work?
Aculaud replied to Aculaud's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
ok, this is all great, but my question remains. How can i write a trigger condition in such a way so that if any enemy sees me, and knows i'm there, it activates. or do i have to write a trigger for every single soldier that could see me? -
This would be cool. Delta Force 3 had zodiacs, and what was even cooler is that you could fire your weapon from them. this would be a good addition
