At the Circuit City I went to, they were selling X45's for $70. I'm not sure if thats a good price, because I havent really shopped around The only reason I chose a Microsoft Sidewinder 2 is because it was completely USB compatible. The X45 stick itself appeared to be USB, but the throttle looked like it plugged into something else... rather than take the chance of having to return that stick, I bought this one. So far I like this stick. Not enough buttons up on the stick itself, IMHO. I have to bend my thumb a more than usual to reach the default Cannon button in IL2, which makes it slightly less comfortable. They could have fit four buttons up there in addition to the hat switch But other than those minor gripes, it all seems to be running smoothly. I didnt even install the software, because it kept saying it couldnt detect the stick for some reason...

Whee! I just bought a Microsoft Sidewinder 2. I could have gotten the one with force feedback, but it was $50 more I was thinking about getting some stick called an X45 I believe, because it had a seperate throttle and stick. Hmm... I hope I made the right choice

Hehehe, I want to fly a Chinook or Blackhawk baby! Some big fat transport helicopter that everyone takes for granted. Either that, or I'd really like to fly a police helicopter. Or a news helicopter. Or a civilian transport one. But back on topic... I doubt that pilotless aircraft will ever fully replace manned aircraft. At least not in the near future.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the FW190's low speed and flaps extended flight characteristics? Dont get me wrong, I love this plane, its my favorite one thats currently modelled, but would a FW190 really turn so well with its flaps extended like that? Or can we expect this ability to be taken away once FB comes out? In other news, I've heard a rumor that the FW190's E-bleeding will be reduced to a more realistic level in the future. And I certainly hope it is true

The twist rudder on my Logitech Wingman 3d stick broke too! Other than that, its performed just fine.

I think I'll be good in the ME262. I'm going to abandon my current lover, the FW190, for something even faster, even more heavily armed, and hopefully it wont bleed off as much E in a turn. I also read that if you're too quick with the throttle in FB, you have a good chance to flameout an engine or even both. So its going to take a bit of getting used to for me. OH!!! And if I'm not mistaken, there was a picture of the ME262 taken ingame about a week ago that showed it with what APPEARED to be mounting racks for rockets. Apparently four 30mm. cannons werent enough for those wacky Nazi's

Hear ye hear ye my fellow Total Annihilation fans! Do a search for the mod titled "World Domination!" It has TONS of realistic units, I.E. T-72's, T-80's, T-90's, Challanger II's, Leopard's, M1A2's, Bradleys, BMP-3's, and much much more! Including ships and submarines! If for some reason a search doesnt come up with useful information, I'll search around and post a direct link myself.

I've seen Apache's do loops too, and no doubt the Russians have a helo or two that is capable.

I only watch MTV before I go to school, because thats when they are showing music videos.

I read... in Jagged Alliance 2 ... that the C7 also has something to allow left handed shooters to fire without shell casings flying in their face after they fire

Alright, I've successfully managed to get OFPR to start with my changes made in the config.cpp. Â However, when I get to the title screen, the message "Value not an array" appears. Â Then I go to the mission editor, place my units, and everything is fine. THEN, the weird stuff starts happening. Â Lets say I place an AH64 in the mission editor with me as the pilot. Â When I actually start the mission, my pilot is sitting ON the AH64's nose. Â I can still move and fly, but the guy isnt even inside the damn chopper for crying out loud! Â I target a T80, and fire all my hellfires at it, and IT DOESNT GET A SCRATCH ON IT! Â I try the same with a BMP, and theres no damage done! So it would seem that by changing the damage of hellfires in my config.cpp, I have somehow made ALL enemy units invincible, and messed up something else. Â I'm being dead serious, all enemy units are invincible to my weapons, be they APFSDS, Mavericks, Hellfires, you name it.

I originally used the program OFPManager to turn the .bin into .cpp. Isnt this how its supposed to be done?

All I changed was the damage value for the Hellfire missiles carried on the Apache.

If I'm not mistaken, a small explosive charge blows the rotors off the helicopter. Then VERY shortly after, the ejection seat launches the pilot and copilot upwards.

Guys, back in the day there were countless arguments about whose combat equipment was better. F22 vs Su37, M1A2 vs T80U, RAH66 vs KA52. And not once did anyone EVER change their mind on what they felt was the best vehicle. All that happened was flame wars, name calling, and other childish behavior. So lets just drop this helicopter argument before it gets started.
