Not really. Contrary to popular belief, Russia did't have strong influence over east Ukraine (i did't say "none", just not that much) There many more "party's" in this game. You do notice that east part just want to be separate from west (not move whole Ukraine with them. On the west... they want to keep Ukraine united. And there is a simple reason for it. Most of Ukraine wealth and industry/business on the east. West part historically very poor. For them (west) it very nice to have "more freedom and act like a storm trooper" till next friday. When you realise your unemployment or social check not in the mail (and never will be again) And if helping Ukraine economy working again will be very difficult task for EU, doing so just for separated west simply impassable. .

They will man. Don't worry. Thats why there is a not even single "mirrored suction" placed against EU so far. Even as "symbolic answer". Cremia annexation was totally supported by population. Even Putin opponent inside the country line-up behind him. On the other hand similar move even against eastern Ukraine will not be supported at all. He know it very well. There will be no direct Russian involvement in Ukraine (unless Kiev gang will do something very-very stupid). And even then (worth case scenario) it will be "quick clean-up" and retreat.

Let me summarize it. You totally support crystal clear and peaceful referendum ( with UN monitors from all over the world ) for whole Ukraine now. And you don't undastand why Kiev want to use military forces agains it peoples instead ? Is this right ? After all this is what 2 month protest at Maidan square was all about. Give peoples right to choose , right ? I'm with you 100% on it.

i see defference.. i just don't care about it. What i care about is outcome. We have 4 more country who hate us. Of course Libya will have civil war even without "help from us". Only now, they can point fingers on us. We even manage to betray Egypt army corps (who was always friendly to west). McCain shaking hand with al-qaeda a-like in Syria did't help ether. Rumsfeld once sad "you can't feed alligators with the hope it will eat you last". Can't agree more. Sorry for little ot guys.

Thanks for quick reply. The reason i'm asking... Most of my life i live in US. And even having 20+ years in this country i will still feel uncomfortable to teach Americans what right and what wrong. What they have to do, how they have to think, what they have read and eat :-). It a very different culture for me. Not bad or good, just different (and i like it). Now back to the point. There are one major weak point in your observation. You write "I hated the Iraq War! I still want Bush prosecuted". Sound like.. hey this is a mistake, you don't have to repeat it.. Sound great. Then we have Libya, Egypt, Syria... and now Ukraine. Only this time they have punch in a face right back. We can argue if Russians have to react so vigilantly (it questionable) but they definitely did't start it first.
