Well, this is the first time I readed this topic... smashing, I think is a great news that someone finally decided to do something about all that. One question, this fire dispersion and weapon damage, don't you guys think it will change the way the oficial campaigns and missions work?
Surely, we will get some missions that won't work the same, so it could be good or it could be bad, so please look at it.
I would like to make a sugestion about the dinamic sounds, I was very impressed by the DAA( Danish Army Addons) M16 pack sounds, the fire and hit sounds(to vehicles, body and ground), they are just spot on, the best ones I seen so far, so something like that implemented in this project would be nice.

Some destroyed civilian vehicles would be nice, the problem is that they would'n be too good for modern day missions, at list they are well destroyed, where you only can see a bunch of torn metall and the eskeleton of the seats and the chassis and engine.
If you do some destroyed buildings you could do one(or more) with a destroyed vehicle next to it and some rubble on top, like if the building colapsed on top, if you make the building and vehicle wallkable like the Blackhawk crash site addon, it would be a really nice spot for snipers.
A gramophon(spell?) and old fasion radio would be nice for the atmosphere.
A cuple of billboards and some German propaganda stuff would be nice too( If the missions are based on Germans
)Some sand bags put on a messed up way, like if the position is been hit by bulles and bombs.
I can't think right now, I got the kids messing about and shouting and I have a headeche...

Do you have the FDF mod in a mod folder? I would thought so.
All you have to do is go to the short cut you are using for the FDF mod, right clik and go to properties, find the target window and right at the end type ";" and the name of the folder where the explosions mod are, and then you'll be able to play the FDF mod with the explosions mod, in theory

Mailman inclouded some soldiers on his big weapons pack. I shouldn't sayed infantry, he aded some soldiers to East and Resistance.
If you have Kegetys and Mailmans weapons packs you should try the updated version of UCE's units. They use all the weapons from Kegetys and Mailman.

One of the various things on Lasers pack is that we have a nice modern dessert Russian infantry with a good load of nice weapons, but Laser should work in a woodland camo scheme aswell, so we would have a nice selection by the time the other packs in progres by different people gets released.

All this Antonovs you mentioned are good for it. It would be great to have at list a cuple of them.
West, is so many planes that would do... I would like to see a propeled and a jet for bouth sides, and resistance ofcourse.

Project UK forces is worcking in some nice ones. I recomend you to try the teaser addon by them.
About not being able to choose the right weapon pack combination, well, I have the same problem, but I realiced that the Inquisitor pack have allmost everything you would need for the 3 sides, but you can't design big missions using this weapons without having in consideration the small spec PCs. So I mostly use them for small missions or just to mess about in the editor cos they are soooooo nice.
UCE's? I think they are a bit outdated compared with some new ones, but his units will allways be my favourites.
So I have too choose between Kegetys put togueder with RUsniper's and Lasers( This new one), or Mailmans, wich allready have a good set of infantri units.

Something estrange happaned to me with this file, I downloaded the addon from the link given and I have a 12 megs file call "175", no Zip, no rar, nothing, and is not an EXE ider.
I'll download it again and hope that next time is the rigt file.

Silesian, this Cesna is "perfecto". If you carry on working at this spead we will have the most of the addons retextured before soon.I would like to be able to put all this stuff in a different mod folder, so I hope someone will create a new BIN file and kip on updating it as your addons are released, This way you can retexture not just the original pbos from BIS, but some other stuff aswell, like Sigma's tanks for example( If he was willing to give you permission).
I would love to have them tanks as the ones in all of the original missions from the game, but if I make changes like that to my game without using mod folders I would get kicked out from multiplayer.
I think that just changing the textures from the original BIS models shouldn't be a problem in multiplayer, but if you decide to change the textures of an addon and use it to replace an original one from BIS, there is probably going to be a problem in multiplayer.
So, somebody should dedicate to create and update the neaded files to create a mod folder that will replace the original BIS textures with all this nice new ones.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.
Any one understand what I sayed?

FatWombat, you should ask Silesian about woking togueder.
He is been releasing some nice reskined addons that replace the original BIS addons with really nice textures.
If the bouth of you work togueder( You on terrains, Salesian on Vehicles) we could have a really nice modificated OFP.
Put all that in a mod folder like The Avon Lady sugested and we'll be laughing.
Smashing retextured OFP.
FatWombat's retextured islands.
Silesian's retextured vehicles.
UCE's retextured East and Resistance units.
Inquisitor's weapons pack
Someone tell me about some good West units that would replace the original ones...
Plus if you add the Blood addon, the hisky, the sounds and the explosions pack all in one mod folder... well, that would be amazing.

You can't have different animations on different weapons. The animations are linked to the soldier unit, not to the weapon!Good point, but is any way to make the unit use the animation for the binoculars when this weapon is selected, using a escript or something?
Like I sayed, I don't got a clue about this stuff, but I know how to use animations in the mission editor, so it should be a way to make the unit use the animation of the binoculars when a especial weapon is selected by using an escript.

I would expect that by now it should be posible to make the unit to have a different animation for when is holding a weapon, so lets say that the unit is holding a hand gun, can we make the unit hold this hand gun and this hand gun only with a different animation? so if the unit picks a different hand gun, the animation would go to normal.
If that's possible, all it have to be done is to create the model of the binos and let the engine think is a hand gun, create the binocular impression by puting a escope as the sight, but don't actually modell the scope, then when you choose this hand gun(The binos) the unit is holding the binos with the new animation, and then a escript makes the escope to be sweetched on.
Don't give the weapon any kind of amunition, tweek a few things here and there and it should work. I'm not an addon maker, so you guys probably are going to say that that wouldn't work, I don't really have a clue, but it can be an idea.
BTW, I don't think you would be able to get the 8 shape while loocking through them, so maybe a monocular would work better for an addon like that.

That's how it should be. Is allready high resolution terrains that replace the oruiginal terrains from some of the BIS islands.
I just downloaded the two choppers and the SU25, I haven't transfered to the addons folder yet, but I will in a minute.
I been thinking in a high resolution update to my copy of OFP for a long long time, but I don't have the skill, so I have to wayt for people like Silesian to do the job for me

I may open a topic somewhere in this forums about what addons could replace the original BIS addons.
There is a few, like the Russian regular infantry from UCE, they look much better than the BIS soldiers, but is nothing decent for West in that maters.

for the russians , you could have :a RPK , a PKM and a Saiga shotgun
I second that.
I'm not sure what is the current suport machine guns on the Russian forces right now, but I know about this one, and I know you may not be interested in working on  what it looks to be just a normal updated PK, but this is just an example.
If you are going to release a pack like that you should think on adding more balance on the weapons and not just a few AKMs, that won't be fare.
I allso know that this is going to be a really big pack and that you guys must be up to the top working in what is bin sayed in here, and more weapon sugestions can be a major slow down on the pack and so on, but just make sure you get it right, lol.
Another sugestion that surely is been sugested allready, make the units and the weapons in different packs, or give the units the basic weapons load out that they would use( M16A2s and AKMs) and then release a "specialiced weapons pack" with all the mg and sniper rifles and if is anything ellse chok it in the pack aswell. Just a sugestion.
Assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, and so on, you can build all that, sure, but remember to kip it balanced.
I must apologice if this is been discused allready, but is a few pages in this topic, and is so much to read, so much to do, so much to see...

DF Land warrior!? wow no wonder your multiplayer experience sucked...DFLW sucks anyway....if you like that game you should try DF2....mostly older ex military play it...I have a sniper squad for DF2...one of the best on the net.I know, I got the 3 Delta games, and my favorite is 2 aswell, tall grass, more realism, not like OFP ofcourse
But the easyest to play online of the last two is Land Warrior, I normally get alot of lagg on DFII.Colonell-Klink, lol on that one.

BTW, I rader have reallistic modells.
The bigest problem we have is the shortage of deccent West armours. I know that the valance between West and East is bad, and West have a good advantage in that, but wen it comes to armored vehicles or tanks the addon makers seems to have done a good job for East and no much for West.

Well, I take that you allready know how to create shortcuts for the Hisky and all this mod folders, just put a ";" after the Inq mod and put the name of this one right next to it.

I'm 32, been in the army aswell, national service actually, nothing really major, but I enjoyed some of it.
I love OFP, but I omly played multiplayer a cuple of times due to the limitated power of my pc, now I had builded a big pc with a nice G card and I'm hopping to be able to play more often with mature players Â

I used to be in the DF Land Warrior servers all the time and got to play with to many inmature people that espoil the game, so I don't want to repeat the bad experience.
I know that the way to play this game in multiplayer is to follow the leader and stik to the plan as long the plan is working, that's what I like, a organiced playing, like reall life combat, using tactics and putting the skills to good use.

Well guys, thanks for the advice ant the tips you lot gived me in here, I really appreciate it and it have helped me alot.
I finally got a decent card that will do me for a whille.
GForce4 TI4200 8X, 128Mb ddr, etc, etc, etc. At the moment is running like a dream.
I just finish building the sistem, and now I can't wayt to put it online.

So true, Cero...It's good to have teams like "Our Army" making trully nice addons for the East, but there's still so much we need to balance the game a bit.

One quick question.
I want to use Blood+INQ_Mod+ Explosions.
In the mod folder addons folder I need to have this:
Blood addon pbo by snyper.
The InQuisitor's Weapons pbo on its own? I don't need the Units pbo, don't I?
The GMR_Mod pbo.
Anything ellse?
Hang on, I just tested it before I finished this post and it worcks fine, really nice.
You don't need the units pbo from InQuisitors HRWeapons, but you'll need the modified XMS.pbo that comes in the original mod folder from Inquisitor. You can get it from Here, but if you are using the Explosion mod combinations of BIN or whatever, you won't need nothing from the InQuisitor's HRWeapons mod apart the XMS.pbo.
One Thing, when I try to use this mod folder with another mod folder that I made(Just Addons) some of the mod folders give me this error:
