Cool, must try this map, looked for it today but didn't find the map on any server. ck-claw, would you mind telling me what ded. server it's on?

Good for those who own 1.04, will be good for 1.02 users once 1.05 gets released. But what about 50 cm fences, I guess we still won't be able to cross those (by jumping etc). But think of the advantages of this, because if we would be able to do this without some kind of an action it would be quite dangerous to stand on the roof of a building near the edge. Most of the times there's a 30 cm concrete wall to stop you from falling down.. with jumpning, we could just jump over.. oops.

Nice screens, some even got great camera angles and dramatic scenes. But above all, astonashing detail, can't get that level of detail with my PC.

Operation Lightning In this mission I tried to use the OFP engine to simulate a beach landing. But it's much more than that, see it as multiple missions bundled in one. The mission has been out a while now, but I haven't thought about posting it here, so that's what I'm doing now. The OFP Center PL gave Operation Lightning a score of 4+/6. armadb.de rated it 8 out of 10. Thanks to the beta testers and www.OFPEC.com: EvilCrocodile, Duckie-, sharkyjoe, Mikero, dmakatra, bored_union, hoboman, karantan, macguba, mathias_eichinger Mission Summary: The island of Malden is occupied by the Russians. The US have plans to remove the Russians from the island. You are part of the US military forces near Malden and have to take part in the fight to retake Malden. The missions starts after you've been brought to land with a boat. Version 0.95b (released: 11th of September 2006): Location 1: Version 0.95b final Location 2: Version 0.95b Final Thanks for your time, Cheetah

New mission After a break of a few months I decided that it's time for one of my SP missions to be released. I'm talking about "Border Quarrel", the previous version has already been reviewed by the Polish OFP center and received a 4+/6 score. In a few days I'll post a few more of my missions here, which have all been beta tested on www.ofpec.com numerous times and therefore should at least work Mission Summary: The situation on Malden looks bad for the Americans as the Russians are mobilising a lot of their forces. In the south, near Chapoi, there appears to be heavy enemy resistance. You, Paul Hitch are in Le Port and have to get towards the border with the Russians, near Chapoi. Border Quarrel (0.87): Location 1: BorderQuarrel 0.87 Location 2: BorderQuarrel 0.87

Gaia used it for a mission in OFP and converted it to a working script in ArmA. I believe that in the ArmA video thread (in ArmA-General) he posts the youtube link.

Working on campaign and mission editing is not a problem in the current state of ArmA in my opinion. A patch probably won't hurt your mission much, or it would take about 15-30 minutes max. to fix it. That is if it's even necessary, probably not. The only thing is that you might spend 10 minutes doing something and after the patch (because of new commands etc) this would take 5 minutes. But that's my view on it, good missions and campaigns take time to make though and I got the German version plus I started doing MP missions first. After that I started editing / MP missions as a mix. Both take time.

Did you try Bardosy's campaign? It's not completed yet, but at least gives you some campaign play. I agree with you that there aren't many SP missions. I'm working on a campaign at the moment, but campaigns take a lot of time (~10 missions is a lot of work, especially if you add cutscenes) so expect some to be released in weeks/months. Until that time, try whatever SP missions are released on the forums and hope that mission/campaign development goes smooth .

General information: Version: 1.00 Author: Cheetah Release date: 3 february 2007 Comments: SgtAce inspired me with his AirCavalry mission, I took some of his ideas and combined it with mine to produce Aerial Hunter. toadlife's Weapon Respawn script updated for ArmA
=BFP=Cheetah replied to norrin's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Have to register to the website in order to download, could you put up a mirror which is register free? -
It's a different mission, as Air Cavalry by Sgt. Ace doesn't feature vehicle respawn and that's a good thing. It makes things a lot tenser, gives a better atmosphere.

A boat shouldn't be much of a problem then. Helicopters in the mission shouldn't be locked, the player is a pilot. Boat can be locked, but I always prefer to unlock them and maybe let a fuel line be hit. So that in 30 seconds, there's no fuel left (use a hint to display: fuel line hit or something like this)

I did, but haven't had the time to write a report on the new missions.

dan9of9, he was just kidding. I like the floating crosshair. It gives the game a special feeling. -
Damn, this gives you a huge advantage. Everytime I have to take a look at the map it takes about five seconds. So I'm considering printing one too . Looks good.

This mission can be great, depends on who you play with. As I'm not in a clan at the moment, I have to play on public servers. The problem with the map is that your pilots must be dedicated, sometimes they aren't and will ignore you. I like dedicated and realistic games, too bad 70% of the public players think the other way. Just finished two games in your map. The first time we had two pretty selfish pilots. We had four guys in Cayo left after clearing it and completing the objective, so it was time to call for a ride towards Ortego. So we asked for pickup five times, no answer from the pilot. Two guys got shot after about five minutes of waiting. Two guys were moving in on our position, too bad I could get only one of them. We decided there that we wanted to have other pilots. So we restarted. The second time pilot did his best transporting troops from the airport to Cayo. After Cayo had been cleared the pilot came back twice to pick up the troops in Cayo and drop them off near Ortego. Things went well, Shilka's got destroyed Cobra being used. After a while the infantry was clearing Ortego, still with a few T72s left, and the pilot and someone else were in the Cobra blasting the convoy to pieces. Other than that, it was fine. Too bad the server restarted before we could finish your map. Well done Sgt.Ace .

Got an AMD Athlon 2600+, 512mb RAM and ATI Radeon 9700pro. The map delay has been quite frustrating during online play, while getting back from the map I've been shot quite a few times. The delay can get as high as 7 seconds.

Wow, zodiac amazed me. One of the better movies made using a game. Looks like a lot of work has been spent on making and finetuning it. EDIT: The LittleBird training video shows how skilled the author is, damn nice flying. I learned at least a few things, thanks .

@CanisDEK These results are different from FPS as far as I know. It's probably a score based on the time your pc needs to go to the next camera position, or complete a number of camera movements.

Well, it is indeed a photoshop job, but the island reminds me of Guadeloupe. Picture from GoogleEarth:

Or wait until February, ArmA will be released in a lot of countries in English. February is a long time though for a game with a lot of beauty.

I suggest also taking a look in these threads: Discussion about the perfect ArmA pc. ArmA Mark, a thread pretty interesting for anyone who wants to know how their PC performs in ArmA. Don't know enough myself for helping you with these hardware questions though. Have to refresh all my knowledge / update it myself as I'm going to buy myself a new system (want arma to run in (almost) full glory. -
I suggest that you burn your just downloaded version on a DVD, that way you have at least a backup and it saves you some download time during reinstallation.
