  1. I actually really like this pack, I could already play the game on very high everything with good fps but I have actually chosen this pack not because of performance because I actually prefer how forests are and I like the more 'rough' feel to the trees with this mod. Nice work.
  2. There was a small trick posted in that thread. In your core ArmA directory create a folder named "Ca", in that create a "Data" folder then create a "Destruct" and another "data" folder in that one. Now place the .paa files in the correct folder and launch the game. This is what I do and it works perfectly. That is providing its the textures I think it is.

    Is there a populated land mission?

    Well its not out yet but I am making a very big mission, the entire island will be covered in enemy soldiers but I have lots of work from college, making a campaign too so I can not give an eta or anything.

    Sharper recoils

    Real rates of fire is something I've always wanted ever since the very begining of OFP. Always wondered why no one has implemented it into a mod of some sort. Better recoils would also be great, you see videos of people firing weapons on full auto the barrel doesnt shoot up in the air as much as it does in ArmA. ArmA is supposed to be realistic and these are both two crucial parts of weapons Ive always wondered why thevyve never been sorted properly. Edit - Just noticed there was a download, trying it out now. Edit 2 - I just realised this was in A&M: Complete not discussion. I need to wake up a bit

    What made OPF better?

    I too have started playing OFP much more recently. The GUI is better in all ways, campaign and misions were better, even though the graphics arent great they look better then ArmA on very low and it actually runs on high fps even then. Atmosphere is better, when I go back to play OFP I feel scared/worried for my squad when sneaking up to an enemy camp (Of course in OFP you c ould do that cause in ArmA your god damn squad open fires) The OFP AI did nearly exactly as you say, in times in ArmA Ive had my second in command take command even though I was still alive and then the rest of the team just didnt listen to me Personally I think OFP is just the much better game despite it being 5/6 years old now.

    Lately I have seen myself turn much more to OFP, been playing Revolt campaign again and even though I still run across some small things wrong with the game I still prefer OFP well over ArmA. Combat is more fun, easier to command tanks, easier to command and fly choppers and jets, driving is much better since the screen doesnt center. There is a lot of effort lacking from ArmA, you can definately tell it was rushed. I know people will end up saying "but... OFP 1.0" I dont care, I remember when I didnt know how to patch OFP (yes I was that dumb ) and was on 1.0 OFP, I still loved it, I would come home from school and be straight onto OFP. I just dont feel this with ArmA.

    When people buy a game they expect it to work, or atleast have patches to make the game work. If their computers are above what it says on teh box thenw hy should they have to buy a new computer just so they can play the game?

    What I do to get around this is set the fuel to 0 and then setdammage to 0. This prevents it blowing up and killing people around it but also makes it destroyed so people dont fire at it.

    Yeah as in the ECP effects it should be random I'll have a look for some videos. True unless in the addon you create a non dammageable explosion in the config?

    What about secondry explosions? Extra fire-balls? Just like from ECP, I loved that effect, tank goes up in flames then a few bangs and a big bang followed by a fire-ball. Any chance of having this included on heavy tanks due to ammo exploding?

  18. Well i'm gonna create a new campaign named Backlash. Mostly I want your opinions on it and any suggestions. Firstly i'll give a brief story (dont want to ruin the story before its even released ) Militia groups on Porto have tried to take over the goverment but since the island is so small they have no army to protect it. So the Porto goverment requests help from the US, the US being the nice people they are accept and send 200 or so infantry soldiers onto the island to help. The militia however cant compete with the highly trained soldiers and therefore just give up meaning no action is seeen. A week before they are scheduled to leave weird things start to happen wit their radar system, what could it be? Thats only a quick and brief story of the first two missions, not gone any further into the campaign for obdvious reasons. Next I want input on addon choices. So far I have this small list... - Lowfly Editor update - MAP misc - RKSL camo nets I'm trying to keep the list small but am open to suggestions that you would really like to see. Some more info on the campaigns features... - 15+ missions - Cheating is not allowed (-endmission will not end the mission anymore) - Fully voice acted - Detailed briefings - Intros and Outros on nearly every mission including several cutscenes - Missions rely more on squad leading, if you lose to many men you fail - Advanced AI using grouplink and supression scripts when seen fit - Custom onplayerkilled script - And more... Also voice actors are required, these are the parts... (Lines will come mission by mission) - Player - Brian Sheplan (A lot of lines, varying from mission. Accent not a problem but American would be preferable) - HQ - Papabear (Also a lot of lines depending on mission and American accent also prefered) - Squad leader 1 (used in various missions, fewer lines could range from 5 per mission but voice not used in all missions) - Squad leader 2 (same as above) - Squad leader 3 (same as above) - Firefly base (Pretty much same as above) - Pilot (Same as above) If you are willing to help please PM or post in this thread with which role you would like to take. Anyway thats enough from me, lets hear what you think of the campaign so far with suggestions to story, addons and if you can voice act. Cheers.

    @Heatseeker The entire campaign isnt set on Porto, probably should have mentioned that After the first few misions the campaign and story stretch over to Sahrani. But thanks for the suggestions will consider them. @Ti0ne3r Well I'm still playing the BIS campaign so am not too sure on the story yet.

    Color Modding

    Try the nvidia settings option it should allow you to edit colour so this should apply for in games. You will have to do some trial and error first to get the colour you like best.
  22. Well I know in OFP that you could change squad names or the name of HQ all via the stringtable. However is this still possible in ArmA if so what needs to go into the stringtable as I assume its all changed since OFP. In OFP you also had Papabear and Firefly, is there only one HQ in ArmA or is there another? If so whats its name? Also how do I make a totaly blank screen for example at the start of a mission so the screen is black? I have tried doing a long fade in/out but in ArmA this doesnt seem to work. Cheers.

    Well my stringtable looks like this... <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">LANGUAGE, ENGLISH STR_CFG_PAPABEAR, PAPABEAR STR_CFG_FIREFLYBASE, FIREFLY STR_CFG_GRPNAMES_NOVEMBER, NIGHT SCORPION I want HQ to be called "Papabear" instead of "Crossroad" and I want to rename Group november to "Night Scorpion". I even checked the ArmA stringtable to check if the names were all correct which they are. I assigned the squad with November using the groupID but all the names still have default names.

    OFP Vs Arma QC SP Campaign

    I really like the new QG campaigns they are a HUGE improvement over the ArmA campaign but I still much prefer the OFP one. The voice acting in QG still sounds a bit weird from time to time, I have noticed times when voices are played to quickly/slowly compared to the subtitles. Its just little things like that which make me prefer the OFP campaign.
