  1. I'm confused, you get banned here for saying something negative about ARMA? Everyone can give their positive opinions but negative criticism is ban-able? Comon. I hope the moderators are more adult than that. I love the game don't get me wrong, a lot looks good, but a lot looks the same as well. When it comes to sound, you should never cut corners. Ragdoll is an amazing stretch forward towards immersion. I hope you're right about the place holders, however unlikely.

    Lets makes it clear, sound engine =/= sound design


  2. Judging from the PC gamer video and preview, there still some problem with the game

    Blur and PP are still bind together

    AI still do the same old same old

    Inventory still needs a bit of work(and include the function to stripe weapon mods/open backpack from dead body directly)

    But at less they fix the red dots and holos, which is good enough:)


  3. Unrealistic feature is unrealistic. That'd be the reason for removing it. It's not realistic. Why? Because, you should never aim your weapon where the center of mass of your body isn't pointed. When you aim IRL, you should turn your torso+arms+head as one unit in the direction you want to point your weapon. You are more accurate this way.

    Well i will agree with you if you got TIR or make use of the alt look key, that way is more realistic(even more if BI add Oculus Rift support, 1:1 head turning ratio is DA SHIT), but if you don't then floating point is what making your head untie to your torso, remember, your arms are bind to your torso, but your head can still turn around to look at things even if your torso turn.

I don't have anything to worry about, as I am sure Kerbal Space Program will surely keep me busy with things like building space stations, building Mun base, or just having fun watching poor Kerbalnauts screaming and looking absolutely terrified in a spinning rocket before that rocket breaks into hundreds of spinning burning parts and explode into a giant fire balls.


  5. I'm well aware of that, but I'm confident that come full release there will be an acceptable animation for getting into and out of the water. Underwater operations are too much of an emphasis of Arma 3 to ignore this.

    Well maybe if enough people bitch about that they will change it, we'll see ;)


  6. I can't imagine they'd ignore a transitional animation from/to water and land, especially with the whole underwater world now available. As for the demonstrations, I'm pretty sure that they just didn't have the animation ready. Keep in mind that those demonstrations were done almost a year ago now.

    Again, don't hold too high hope on such things, they had a tradition of "thinking othewise"


  7. I knew A3 includes changing clothes and bare bodies, but not human bodily functions and scatology. Is each turd to be modeled separately? ;)

    Well, you can always create a special type of crouching animation and do a spawn object script that named "crap" which will spawn some "special custom made model of human fecal matter" on the ground, no big deal:p


  8. It simulate a MILITARY OPERATION that included tanks and plane and helicopter and shits, note that it is not labeled flight simulator nor tanks simulator nor APC simulator, man in boots doing battle against each will always be the main focus.

    On topic: Not that I don't think a better damage model would be nice though.

The list of problem goes on and on and on, but one thing always makes me wonder is what would it take to have a proper holo/red dot sight, people here always said that its not big deal......well it is a big deal, in fact I think a lots of misses when using these scope is cause by that exact scope, it only works when picking pot shot while standing still or being very very close on the target, in fact I'd rather running an iron instead of those scope.


  10. Well, if that means a better, more stable game for everyone who can run 64bit(like hours of non stop gameplay without having to worrying about out of memory error), for me that will be a huge plus alone, otherwise, there really won't be much reason to go full 64bit support.

For those thinking this is a jip system take a look at Star Citizens Alpha packages! $40 (second tier) just to have access going all the way up to $2700 Grand Admiral in which you get year long sim-spaceship insurance, a few trinkets and blueprints along with some "Thank You" CD's. And yet...no ingame credits....

    Seriously now you have to buy insurance for your video game vehicles..? Imagine had BI done that :p

    AFAIK those (like me) who crowdfunded Star Citizens before the clock runs out have a life time insurance :p


  12. One of the problem I can see is that TOH FM is really not designed for AI to fly if you want the FM to be realistic, which is kind of suck when you know hardcore Flight simmer will hate it to death...

    With that said, I'd rather that BI to make sure that the FM and 3rd party config will be supported but free from messing with AI ability to fly the chopper correctly, then we can deal with the human factor ourself.


  13. I will only get the DD Version even though I have more then enough money for the suppoter pack.

    edit: speaking of which, I'll be very.disappointed if that map only comes with a full colour "tourist" map that is rubbish for game play, a good old topography map that only shows the bits that is useful is a must!
