  1. Someone else has told me they have witnessed AI units being invisible after disembarking from a vehicle, so it's not just me. Still haven't nailed the cause. In this video I repro'd it by changing the vehicle to something else in the editor (also happens with trucks): Other editor weirdness not shown: Units in cargo appearing to sit on top of the vehicle My character being unable to move on mission start or after restarting
  2. I had a problem with invisible units recently. It wasn't related to deleteVehicle though, and I couldn't pin down what was causing it. I had a Marshall with four AI grouped to it, who were placed in its cargo. The Marshall had an unload waypoint. Everything was working fine until yesterday, for no apparent reason, the units disembarking at the unload waypoint would become invisible. I'd see them on the map, hear their voices, see their footprints, and be able to highlight their IFF tags. Initially I thought it was something to do with the vehicle being hidden until it was needed, but I removed all code related to that vehicle and the problem persisted. I also tried using hideObject false on them after they disembarked, but that didn't work. I copied the vehicle and its waypoint, and the duplicate units were visible when they got out. I ended up just deleting the Marshall and replacing it with another, which solved the problem.
  3. Sorry, I meant the drop-down 'Activation' menu in the Trigger:Activation section. I can't open the drop-down list if I click it after opening the trigger dialog. I've just noticed that if I scroll down the dialog first, then click the Activation bar, the menu becomes available.
  4. Triggers are still broken. You can't set an activation.
  5. After today's update, units are sunk into the ground every time you load a mission. >:( Then if you preview the mission and return to the editor, every infantry unit on the map has been moved to the lower left corner >:( >:( >:(
  6. Can the sound be spammed though? Do you mean by different people? I recall the sound only playing again after a few seconds, meaning that if you ping multiple times within a few seconds, the sound would only play on the first one. That was another reason I preferred the old guitar string sound - there was more than one 'note', which made it less repetitive.
  7. Speaking of which; BIS, I implore you, change the tactical ping sound back to the original one. The new one is atrocious. I can't begin to understand the mindset of whoever though that was a good sound, let alone why it needed to change in the first place.

    LOD Discussion

It's horrendous. It started to become really noticable at the same time as the visual update. A dev claimed it was unrelated, but if you see any of the comparison shots from the old lighting to the new, there were clearly changes to some of the clutter objects.
  9. Good lord, why was the Tactical Ping sound changed? There was nothing wrong with the old one. Now it literally sounds like a Windows 98 error box. Please change it back.
  10. kbTell is broken. Any message played through a radio channel results in incomplete audio if you are standing near the speaker. For example, the text "OPFOR backup is flooding into the valley!" will appear in the radio channel, but if you're within earshot of the unit speaking, you might only hear "OPFOR backup is...", followed by static for ten seconds or so. The audio plays properly if you are out of the 3D speaking range of the unit, and it also seems fine through the 'direct' channel.
  11. In that case: In hosted co-op, AI subordinates do not follow the group leader if he is a client. They always follow the server and often ignore 'move' commands. Clients do not see the full names of AI group members in the 'team' tab, or in the casualties list on debrief. The server sees the full names, the client sees only the surname. Please consider showing a playable unit's class icon in the MP lobby. Sometimes mission makers rename the unit with no indication of his role. AI Autoriflemen need to be taught proper muzzle or trigger discipline. They will often be firing a burst while getting up from a crouch or even while turning, causing friendly casualties. This has been happening since at least Arma 2. I'll try to illustrate with a video.

    Orange DLC (wild) SPECULATIONS !!!

Missing from where? Is there a Boring-Ass Base Simulator game mode I haven't seen?
  13. Someone change it to 'Greenhorn'.
  14. All animals suffer from this terrible affliction.
  15. It would also be cool if it worked like that with the various uniform reskins that are available in the files, such as the woodland BDUs and sage version of the NATO combat uniform.
  16. I think people need to be a bit more selective with their bug reports. I'm sure there are still many issues with playable assets that are more pressing than an oversight on a static prop that nobody seems able to identify.
  17. Would it be possible to have class icons appear next to the slots in the MP lobby? Alot of mission makers like to rename the playable units, often without any indication as to what class they are. Last night I played one where every character had been renamed "Alpha 1-1, Alpha 1-2...", which is not only totally redundant but meant we had no idea who the medic was, for example. A class icon somewhere on the slot would be a big help. Or even a tooltip when you hover over it. Speaking of class icons, no pacific CTRG units except for grenadier and AT have an icon in the squad bar. Viper only has an icon for AT.

    Apex Weapon Feedback

Speaking of the Protector, why can't we add any accessories to the front rail? Clipping issues or something?
  19. When I loaded the game just now there was no main menu, just a dialog with a bootcamp image and the options Yes and No. I clicked 'no' and the main menu came up as normal, but I don't know what I was saying no to.

    Overlooked Attention To Detail

Also, the swaying trees kind of show the engine's age because the leaves don't move. If you look up at the canopy it actually looks pretty weird. Most games from the last ten years with detailed environments have fully animated foliage. But I don't mean to be a negative nancy, so: It's cool that when you shoot in the jungle, the sound of jungle life stops and then fades back in after 15 seconds or so.
  21. Yeah I'm sure they'll get right on that. It's been a real pain to join hosted MP recently, maybe since the last update. Joining fails, you try again, it fails again, the host takes the server down and puts it back up, maybe that works and you can now join, but maybe joining still fails. So then you restart the game, try joining again, that fails. So then the host restarts the game and puts the server back up. Maybe joining works now, but maybe not. It can take ten minutes to join a server.

    Tanoa discussion (Dev-Branch)

Regarding the locked door barriers; I don't think the one with the two boards propped against a door should be used inside a building. I can see it messing with alot of compositions. Padlocks would suffice in most cases. I also don't really get the sandbag one. Looks weird.
