    QG Classnames

Yes Kronsky, it's nice with pics but I didn't really find pics and classnames for marines there. Only army, that's why I posted it. But that's not the reason I am posting now. Since I am no good modder, I wanted to ask you if/how can I make other units then engineers being able to build a FARP in that Evolution SP. And, how can I prevent KA's and SU's from respowning so often, becouse now in 1.14 enemy air actually attacks you and it's very anoying due to guys you recruit are low. Maybe if you have the nerves you convert Evolution Blue V2 into SP, meny guys out there would appreciate having a nuke and stuff in SP. Imagine being in a can with no wire... Good job on that though.

    ArmA 2 should have...

Jakerod, I will take your advice and mark it differently. I am sorry for the confusion. layne_suhr, as it goes for your post, mabe you should read all of my posts. That airshow you were on is not on carrier so it doesn't really count since planes waren't launched with catapult, but we already got through that. You couldn't say really that airplanes whistle, it's quite a different sound but missiles do, shells and bombs make a bit different sounds again. I would like to hear a sound in from your first video at (0:55 to 1 min). That's what I miss in ArmA. That Future Weapons episode sound effects are exaggerated, it just reminded me of the "good old days".
  5. I was watching "Future Weapons" on Discovery last time and I realized what I was missing all this time in all games witch included aircraft. This is a clip from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFm9LlLzRDk So stay alert for that whistling sound when missiles are launched and F18s take off Nimitz Carrier. I think with this sounds ArmA 2 would gain a lot on ambiance area. Imagine crawling through enemy lines at night and you are just keep hearing this sounds made by aircraft, missiles or artillery. Scary. If I shouldn't made a new topic for this then I'm sorry.

The whistle sound, its all post production effects. "Real jets might "whistle" but not like in the Future Weapons shows, all the whistles, zooms, launches and explosions are SFX added in post production to "sex up" the shows audio. The video posted by sandzibar is more indicative of the actual sound of weapon launches - a dull woosh for rockets, and little to nothing for free-fall weapons (yeah, we dont fit whistles to bombs anymore, wheres the fun)" Yes there the sound is boosted highly/added even in some cases, but it can be heared a bit in real life so maybe should be added just for the sake of ambiance. Sound when plane is overflying you with great velocity should be made too, it's quite a "punch" at low altitude. In ArmA 1 there is just a bit louder plane noise. If you listed to Javelin missile traveling you hear that sound when missile starts to fall and it increses as it is closing on target. Everything happens so fast though so it is hard to notice it but you notice. Little things - detailes make game good. But new missiles have that "soft launch" anyway. F-18F Super Hornets are used by US Navy so I presume that it was a carrier airshow so I take your word for it bacouse I served on continent (land) only. I was talking more for missile sounds then aircraft. Anyway I think there wont be any issues with sound in ArmA 2 though, since BIS boss presented that helicopter sounds when you can hear turbine and rotor not just rotor like in ArmA 1. Me and most of you folks on this forums are going to buy ArmA 2 even if it is shit beouse everything else is shit. Good Luck with ArmA 2 BIS!

"the 'topgun' whistle? not sure if that gets added in editing to sex up TV programs. Having never heard a real missile firing I couldnt say for sure however. edit: heres what id imagine it sounds like when you do. not as interesting as the movies for sure."If you are saying that when missiles and aircraft launching from carrier with afterburner on dont make that whistling noise then I have dissagree. I have to say that AG missiles almost dont make that noise but a AA are making that noise. Missiles like Harpoon does a lot more deep-base sound though Sidewinder or smt does very high sound when launches and calms down during flight. Usually cockpits are very isolated from outer sounds. That noise can be heared very good from ground or far away. I have seen/heared real combat so belive me it "whistels". Same thing with heavy bombs droped at high velocity and whistles more deep as it is closing to ground (you). Or when artillery shells are closing in... There is some TopGun sceenes in it, yea By the way, "Future Weapons" is not a bullshit movie, it is based on real facts. You can check it out on wiki or anywere you want.
