Done right I know it succeeds... I've run PvP nights on my old clans server and brought there numbers up from the odd few members playing to ~50 players most weekend nights and ~20 players most week nights. There is a market for it and many clans have multiple servers but none are dedicated PvP or even semi regular PvP... To be clear I don't include warfare... I mean real PvP (AAS, AAD, DM, TDM, FF, CTF, KOTH) so I guess my question is... why not?

Is there a blood addon for ArmA2? something like Arma OFPEC Blood Effects edit: wrong addon section... maybe a mod can move it to ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION... soz and thx
-
Could of been.... hopefully now it maybe... this bs follows me on bi forums, I never start shit but I responded badly once attacked hence the broken thread... sorry. Great :) So maybe now you'll see what I was saying before the usual suspects jumped me ... I had mentioned PvP on your site quite some time ago, didn't get much response... just glad someone is providing it now, thx cm, SnR etc :) edit: Its my opinion. Whats the latest news you've heard? .... and when was the last time you did hear something? You can be ashamed for my opinion.... thats up to you

You are wrong, plain and simple... It does take a few ppl online to get the ball rolling and yes the player base was generally members but there is not 40+ active ogn ArmA members let alone all playing PvP.... try again. Yes I believe ogn is dead... no thanks to management. answered above... your wrong. You've never been part of a clan, or any community really, you've never ran a server or admined one, and you rarely joined our server when AAS was bringing in ~50 players but you 'seem' have a hell of alot of 'experience' and 'knowledge' with the inner workings of... everything... truth is you think you know everything when you've never been there.... you don't know what you're talking about fb. lol... are you talking to me or is this a echo... rings true of someone else fb... don't ya think. I'm not ogn and haven't been for a few months.... The more you think you know, the less you know and the less you'll learn... Thx for the tip... I haven't really explored it but will look into it :) Damn straight. Exactly how it was done at ogn, you NEED that member player base... critical mass of around 8-10 players and the flood gates will open :) I'm glad AEF are providing something for PvP fans, on a passworded server they still got ~30 players... there is no arguing that there is demand.

Hey bro I know I'm part of a minority but there is still more players in Oz that would frequent a PvP server than you'd get on most popular servers... its fact man, its been done and proven. Awesome, truley look forward to it...the only other great tactical PvP I've played is Thready's 'Island Towers'... he also makes other awesome AAD (attack and defend TvT)... great for clan battles as they require tactics and team work. Island Towers He tried to add alot of stuff like small limited 40mm nade arty for the team leaders and a few other things so it maybe alittle broken or maybe this one works... can't remember soz :) etc... from here nvm, I'm breaking the thread.
-
funny, the only other person at OGN that showed interest and contributed was Thready... ask him or Aussie about who started and ran PvP nights, the rather large player increase (you do know what '~' means right?) and the number of players before PvP nights... lol, AAS/PvP never died... OGN went offline... had nothing to do with the game style...ya dick :) Nearly 30 players playing AAS on ya AEF Vanilla server tonight.
-
... seriously.... do you two not remember when I started PvP nights with OGN.... within 2 weeks we had ~50 players all weekend 99% of the time and ~20 players most week nights.... and 90% where Aussies so I have no fuking idea what you two are on about, you're plain wrong and I have 50+ witnesses and log files :D There is a small but still very healthy (enough to warrant a dedicated server) demand and zero supply... no wonder the world sees us as backward. What coloured glasses do you wear... pretty please with all your might can you post anything where I stated or implied or anything else even remotely connected to what you are "quoting" me of having said, done etc etc.

A quick question... Does ArmA 2 recognise the wheel mouse 'left and right scroll' buttons? I use a G9x but can't map these buttons in A2... ty in advance.
-
After near 6 months of down time we receive a temp server... a broken server with a 10th of the missions I asked for, no server control and I'm suppose to attract ppl with that shit.... cmon snr... wake up matey mate

True on some random corporate server but not a dedicated community run PvP server... not in my experience anyway. Soz but I do, there are many good, mature PvP players in Oz (that I meet on OS servers) that may or may not help admin if it actually eventuated. Not many COOP dont have respawn... and why the hell does it have to be 'realistic'... the realism I draw from ArmA is the realistic weapons, vehicles, units, terrain and the realistic ballistic, the one shot kills (no f%$^&* health bar) not realism in terms of "yes sir, no sir, sorry for not using the correct radio protocols sir' You want realism... then throw your A2 disc away because if you have been killed once then it would be unrealistic to play again.... point is realism comes in many different forms for many different people. Jump on ArmAcalypse's Game server and TS3 server, introduce yaself (everyone is real friendly) and tell me you didn't enjoy your time with medium level tactical gameplay (TS3 required) I would have to say that coop players just dont get it... maybe because they don't know it because they avoid it... I don't know... I do know all the 'requirements' coop players demand before they'll look at AAS/PvP are very contradictory because they except and even love those 'unrealistic' and other things in COOP... just not in PvP :raisebrow: Edit: And this is what you get when you try to promote PvP in the Oz community... http://forums.ogn.com.au/showpost.php?p=802901&postcount=126

Sadly it has been a issue for PvP players in Oz for awhile. http://ausarma.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=168 I think alot of Aussie PvP players are associated to OS clans and play OS because not one Aussie community/clan/server will accommodate PvP, one dedicated PvP server for Oz... just one, if someone is game to set it up I'll run it.

:) very tricky paragraphic, thx for the tip I will use that for sure.... though my original thought was for 'reload' and 'switch weapon' but lean is a great idea :) thx again 76

Soz galzohar, you couldn't be more wrong... there is a 'critical mass' so to speak once you have 6-8 players the flood gates open, you can't argue this with me... it happened 99% of the time I ran my PvP nights. ........ Advance and Secure [AAS] As stated above.... you just need that critical mass, and those numbers easily come from members alone.... so its a non issue. Thats me.... no one at my old clan was more dedicated than me (half the reason I'm no longer there, the head admins seemed to have given up and where more interested in talking shit and doing virtually nothing and got pissy when someone tried to push the servers/community into action) and for that I made our servers come from rank 53rd in the world down to 22nd in 3 weeks.... 3 weeks bro... It can be done.... I did it..... can't anyone else???

Love the "Useless Feedback" around here.

No... you are missing the point, it only takes one major cheat to ruin a game so unless you remove everything that could possibly ruin the game (which in turn would ruin the game) then this thread is a waste of time... I've spent alot of time dealing with cheaters (they are not hackers, they use haxs) and hacked servers. If someone is intent on ruining a game they are 99.9% sure to succeed, admined servers are the only tool to combat cheaters/grievers.

01: Deathmatch ripped and tweaked. Final, only ever updated if game updates break something (twice already) enjoy :) [DM12] Fight Club v1.x

Not sure it will help but Download This, copy and paste to... C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\BattlEye, and overwrite existing file. other than that BE seems to be running pretty well, for me anyway... I'll let others give more technical advice :) good luck bro

Would it help if ppl deleted their ***.ArmA2Profile and ArmA2.cfg, restarted the game and let it build new ones?... of course you'll have to reset all of your settings but worth a go... edit: -= 1.05 [62017] =- Benchmark 1 - 31fps Benchmark 2 - 18fps -= 1.05 [63826] beta =- Benchmark 1 - 33fps Benchmark 2 - 14fps also much short range before low vehicle lod is used... alot worse than stock 1.05, so worse fps and lod at closer range. So apart from above no new bugs or errors so far... overall I'd have to say this beta is a slight decrease in performance.

Sorry... I left in a character for previewing the mission, should be all good now. [DM12] Fight Club v1.x

I tend to agree with grass off in PvP, I can easily live with it on... but I would love the extra fps... or like galzohar said allow SAP Clutter to be an allowed addon for ArmAcalyspe, I've used it many times and its very good, terrain still looks great but little obstruction and big increase in fps :) The comments so far that imply the spawn system doesn't work are wrong... it works extremely well despite how it looks on paper, I think you just need to play it... more than once with ~20 ppl and no... ai aren't any test of AAS. Please jump on ArmAcalyspe or any servers playing AAS with ~20 ppl, try a few missions in a row (so you get the hang/feel of it) and I think you'll really enjoy it.
-
I love the AAS game mode, have since I first found it. I play on ArmAcalypse whenever I can (no where near as much as I'd like)... lots of extremely good players (some of ArmAs best imo... Nedved for one), well run and administered server and best of all a friendly, fun environment. check me sig fa places ta play AAS
-
Then with your spawn protection you could run outside the capture area.... solved. I think it works very well the way it is, its been a constant wip and 1.0 is near perfect... couldn't be happier.
-
hehe, that would be displayed in the same spot that 'ACE2 is required blah blah' the problem is players obviously aren't reading it.
