Is it just me, or does it look really lame? Just some better textures, but nothing else changed. Guess Flashpoint 2 will be much better. Check out the 7 new videos: http://games.tiscali.cz/reviews/arma2shakycam/

Topic says it all, the beta 1.09 patch runs smoother then the 1.08, but still, there are very few 1.09 servers. are people to lazy to install the patch on their servers or are they scared because it´s a "beta" patch?

you could paste the code in here, maybe someone can help. what do you want to change?

"Jumpy" Mouse & Multiplayer Custom Difficulty
Rocco replied to Scrivener's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
seems like you came from arcade FPS games, ArmA is different, every weapon has a weight value. the heavier the weapon the more slow it is. changing the floating value in controls might help you getting a more fps feeling. -
It means that in one of your addons, there's a CfgPatches class with a syntax error in the line with "requiredAddons". That property is supposed to be an array, like this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">requiredAddons[]={ "SomeAddon", "AnotherAddon" }; I'll bet a shiny coin that the offending addon has a config.cpp with a missing pair of square brackets after requiredAddons, much like this example: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">requiredAddons={ "SomeAddon", "AnotherAddon" }; Now, unfortunately, the ARMA.RPT error file doesn't say which addon the error message originates from, so you'll have to dig. ok mate, that helped me, somehow, all the [] got deleted during unBINing i think. I had to add the [] in every array and now it works. Thx alot!

i think something got messed up during initial unBining. I used ArmaUnbin, maybe thats the problem?

i was about to open a thread about it. strange, i unpbo´d TrueIngameUI.pbo and changed some values (to move the GPS window to the left of the screen), it worked with the old version of TruningameUI, so i used the values from my old config.cpp. I unpbo´d the pbo and then unbinarized the config.bin and changed the values in config.cpp, then binarized it again with BINPbo and then i get this message when trying to start ArmA. Can´t figure out what to do now.

how can we change the position of the gps window? having it in the middle of your screen sucks tbh. i want to have it just over the chat window on the left. thx

What do you think the pinned beta patch threads in General and Troubleshooting are for? those are not specific 1.09 bug reporting tools and im stunned that you think a forum is a bug reporting tool. however, i´m not against betas, but if you "use" the community as beta testers, give them proper tools. It would make it so much easier, for BIS and for the beta testers. I´m also not very pleased about how slow the development goes and i´m starting to believe that ArmA will never be a complete and finished game, which it should have been on release. It seems like BIS is concentrating it´s resources on ArmA2, trying to beat OFP2.

all i know is, that they refuse to give me another access key, you can only install it 3 times and then the activation key is locked. so if i decide to get vista or womthing im screwed. and they enver mentioned that, when i bought the game.

wow those videos show the intellect of those american soldiers! but on topic, yea, the mk19 ingame is ridiculous.
-
nah sorry guys, i just used matt´s pbo instead of the whole mod, downloaded it from here now: http://www.armedassault.info/ thx for your help!
-
getting an error message when trying to start my arma.exe. "Include file @ECS\bin\ECS_local.hpp not found" I put the pbo Matt posted in my addon folder.
-
so, i can use my soundmod plus this one for the extra voices in combat? man, that would be sweet, thx alot all!
-
How can they say it´s a beta? are th community beta testers? do we have a feedback journal, bug reporting tool or whatever? dont think... just test it internal for some days and release it and have a mass beta stress test and give us hotfixes and give us an option to send an ingame bug report to BIS.

Add On Compilation for more Realism and Immersion
Rocco replied to the.d's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
great work man, thx alot or that, i´m just wondering, wasn´t there a sun fix with sakura-chans mod? -
i think i read it too that the new patch will only be a beta. when do we get the offical patch, 2 or 3 weeks from now on or do we talk about months?
-
W0lle, who ever said they should stop work on the patch?! Amazing how you can twist this into such a negative characterization. No one said that (here), and it wasn't my intention to point at someone. However there were a few posts in the past saying that BIS should abandon that VON which actually no one is using and focus on other things to fix instead. We all would like to see the patch released tomorrow. It's been a long time since the last patch release, but on the other hand: If BIS release the next patch in a hurry to please a few and it contains major bugs then exactly these group of people is the first to cry and scream. It takes time and a lot of testing to make sure the next patch is a milestone, but once it will be released I hope a lot of people will be satisfied then. or noone will play arma by then...
-
oh yea, vista64 fix, even though i sound like a noob, but when can we download this patch? afaikl, nothing was mentioned right? it better comes tomorrow.

ErrorMessage: CreateIndexBuffer failed (8876017c)
Rocco replied to pchaxor's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
hate this bug, its been a part of arma since the game launched, wonder if they ever fix it. -
so, anyone kow how to replace them with the default weapons? i assume that the texture quality is better then the BIS default one?!

A Nazi? Wow, didn´t know that such old people play computer games. FYI there are very few Nazi´s left in the world, i think you mean racists...

I've made some thoughts about it and i came to a simple but effective conclusion. - Put-in a voting system where all Civs and Cops can vote for the Mayor. That by the following easy way: Using the private messaging system you will introduce via "cellphones" in 1.1, would be easy and effective. That would be IMHO simple but genius. Just put-in a additional "vote destination" as destination for your message, and the message text must contain just the Number of the civ you want to put your voice for. So 1....20. Then "the map" stores that voices for the votes in an array or something (im not a programmer) for x minutes (thats the time you have for voting) and then the civ which got the most voices will be major until he's either death or until the next votes which come after x hours or x minutes. Of course a message like "Civ X is now mayor of Bagango" should appear globally as soon as the "code" has decided (by counting voices) who the mayor is. Isn't that just great? What you think Issetea and Fewo? Isn't that a easy but genius solving of the current "becoming-the-mayor-issue" I hope you consider that option as it is effective and hopefully easy to code. Best Regards, Christian you are the saviour of the world, grats! ppl will just vote for themselves or dont vote at all, maybe add a timer and the one with the most votes wins, if there are plasyers with equal votes, everyone has to choose between those with the same number of votes.
