As I wrote in the other thread the hotfix drivers fix the handle leak for me, but now I get stutters instead. Even flying with 150km/h with 2km viewdistance on slightly lowered settings or even turning in a city with a few units does this. Now I'm back at 7.4 and I don't get the stuttering while flying 900km/h on 2.5km and my normal settings or while fighting in a city with only 20fps and turning rapidly, even though the handles go up to 100000 in under an hour. Seems like I'll play with the leak now as my PC seems to handle that significantly better than without it Oh, and I'm on a E6420, 2GB, x1950GT 512Mb, WinXP
-
It works here. I have a x1950GT and with 7.4 I had 120000 handles after an hour, now after 15 minutes of testing the same 5700 handles overall that I had after starting the game.

Sickboy, even if you ignore the second core Vilas CPU were a A64 3400+ and that is above recommended requirements. If you are so strict only one Athlon, the 6000+, would be good enough and all the new Core 2 Duos on the market until now are to slow. I think in fall the first C2D with 3000Mhz will be available Then again it's common for the printed requirements to be way of mark

Put them in a .pbo with a config like this: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">class CfgPatches { class my_custom_faces { units[] = {}; weapons[] = {}; requiredVersion = 1.0; }; }; class CfgFaces { class Man { class myfaceclassname { name = "nameinselectionscreen"; texture = "\pboname\facename.paa"; east = 0; west = 0; }; class myfaceclassname2 { name = "nameinselectionscreen2"; texture = "\pboname\facename2.paa"; east = 0; west = 0; }; }; }; Only other players with the same .pbo in an active addons folder will see it, if someone does not have it he will see a standard face. Use .paa instead of .jpg for ATI cards if the brightness is wrong. If you don't put the addon into a modfolder there shouldn't be any problems. Some servers might not let you connect because they require the same modfolders as activated on the server, but I think there's a way to block someone using an additional addon.

Difficuly Settings.. What do some mean?
scruffy replied to devildog0514's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I think the "super ai" option maximizes the skill setting for all AI controlled units. When you play a singleplayer mission or the campaign there is a button to choose the mode before the start, in ArmA it saves the last used setting and this is what you will play with in the editor. To change it start a SP mission on the other difficulty and just quit after that. -
That problem is quite normal in ArmA, it's been in OFP too. See this bug tracker report.

I have got a 6800GT and tried various drivers, including the last 3 official XP versions and some (modded to work with all versions) betas. Currently it's the 160.02 beta, but it doesn't really matter. Just use what runs best with other games (I get less alt+tab problems in Lock On with newer ones), there will most probably not be a difference in ArmA.

Non Blinding sun/ Damage textures upgrade
scruffy replied to sakura_chan's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I haven't tried the sun glare and seafoam yet, but I love the new damage textures. Thank you -
Apart from the nice slide-, trigger- and other animations which are nice too the aimpoint rocks

A really nice video Dslyecxi and that new command engine looks awesome. Boredom + new 1.05+ idling speed =
-
Sorry I can't help with the problem, but I have one remark about this: I can not recommend that, it influences the unit draw distance (within the view distance). With object details on minimum I can not see an enemy unit 300m in front of me without using the second-mousebutton-zoom (while the enemy still shoots at me) and it is even more hindering while flying.

The new ironsights with freeaim are awesome but I still can't play smooth with foliage around

Alfred Hitchcock presents: The Birds Addons: OFmans Nograss, and now also hawk-infested, island

You will find them hidden under C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local settings\Application data\ArmA\MPMissionsCache

I listened to you radio this night, thanks for the broadcast. I also recorded the ArmA soundtrack and uploaded it. The first 1-2 seconds are missing and I had connection problems at the end of track 10, other than that it's fine: Download

Nothing interesting in there, they're only stating long known facts. No one there has played ArmA so far. I don't understand why one can write reviews on Amazon long before the product is available...

Yes, but Gamecam has this nice little feature called "cache recording" or something like that. You can't make very long sequences with it, but it doesn't kill your framerate like normal recording. Most of the times I find it easier to just use fraps and compensate for the performance drop through other settings though, as gamecam is to hard to set up correctly and I choose the lazy way

It didn't work with DXDLL for me. If you use that try without it, might be a problem.

Congratulation BIS! I think this smilie really fits with my mood now: Oh, and Placebo has already made an official statement about the gold status, here is the video

It's not maximum resolution. I think the monitor had this as maximum resolution and therefor everything higher was disabled. That should be normal for most 4:3 17" and 19" TFTs.

OFP on Xbox sucks because of the following reasons: - I can't play with the controller - I can't move with the controller - I can't aim with the controller - I can't command with the controller Anybody noticed yet, that I'm a mouse+keyboard player? Apart from that I missed the multiplayer (no friends with console, don't want to pay monthly for Live), the full editor and all the addons. Nevertheless I had much fun with it and it's a nice game if you can get used to the controls. I just never was able to finish a tank mission successfully and even 3-4 enemys were a hard fight and most often too much for me

Nope, it would be an empty DVD case with a note with key and download link on it

Greetings, my fellow golfers! The Nogova Golftour has started a new season and you are invited to participate in the tournament. Disclaimer: This picture might not fully reflect the content of these missions --> Download Missions <-- In the package you get 3 courses, all can be played with up to 4 players. New courses are very simple to build, just a matter of moving some markers and triggers on the map. You need no addons for this missions, we first wanted to use a VW Golf instead of the skodas but then decided against it. We also didn't include some "waiting music" so the missions wouldn't be too big, but we encourage you to play something in the background. "Spanish Flea" for example did very good during the playtests and a mod which spices up the explosions is always fun. So, go pack your satchels and make Tiger Woods cry Edit: Please put this mission in your "..ofp\mpmissions\" folder and start a multiplayer game, even if you want to play alone, so the ai is disabled!

ECP "only" changes the effects and enhances the AI, WGL also changes the weapons to be more realistic. That's a bit simplified, both have things the other mod hasn't, but if you want more realism I'd say try WGL. But if you have time try ECP too, we played with that before WGL5 and it's really great, too. Old saying from our ECP sessions: "Burning russians don't swear"

Try WGL 5.1, it's great.
