    Gathering weapons

Thanks a lot for the reply guys! There's 1 thing I never really did is to make sure all my guys are fully loaded with weapons, especially satchel, mines... I always used to put them in a truck and take it back with me. I think in the future I will count what I have b4 the mission and see after the mission if the use of a truck also makes a difference. However I would like one of BIS developpers to just give me the answer, as it is an important feature of the game and nothing is explained in the manual. Sure they must know about that?!?

    Gathering weapons

Hi everyone! I've got some practical questions about resistance, I really love this add-on but the manual is REALLY empty of information. It's all about gathering weapons and making up your own stock throughout the campaign. I expected this topic to have been discussed many times in the past but I haven't found anything useful by searching the forum, or did i use bad keywords? Anyway, here is my big question: when you play the campaign, what are all the possibilities to gather weapons and make sure you keep them for the next missions? For example I see a RPG launcher left by an ennemy on the floor, I pick it up and finish the mission with the launcher in my back then I'm sure I'll get it in my own stock, that's easy. I know also that I can put weapons in any vehicle during the game but how to make sure it will end up into my own stock once the mission is finished? Does it have to be a resistance vehicle or can it be an ennemy or civil vehicle? Do I have to leave one of my guys inside to keep all the equipment it contains for the next missions? Do I have to take the vehicle to the finish point? Or are there missions where you're told to use a truck to gather weapons and all the other missions where you just cannot and need to use your own guys? Another thing, I'd read a long time ago about someone complaining because many missions end up once the last ennemy is dead so no time to gather weapons from dead bodies. I can't remember if there was any answer to it, is there any special trick to avoid it? If you direct me to another thread I've missed or even a website with a BIG manual about ofp resistance that's no problem at all I'd be glad to go. But I really need an answer coz' I've had enough to play with only 2 SVD and 4 RPG launchers after 10 missions! I'm really sure I could have gathered much more stuff from previous missions. Thanks a lot in advance...

    Best place for ofp2 suggestions?

Hey they've put "What would you like to see in ofp2" thread on sticky, cooooool!!!! And that was quick!! Â Thanks very much to who answered to my request (and if it wasn't to my request, thanks anyway) !! Â Â Â

    Best place for ofp2 suggestions?

JRMZ, u're asking why? Well the answer is quite obvious, to make it clear and visible to everybody that if they have any suggestion of improvement, they can put it in there. If it remains a simple thread, it may be submerged by other threads and put down the list, then people may forget about it. Also the same "suggestions for ofp2" thread may multiply in other places which will make the information more difficult to collect (particularly for BIS team). If we make this thread a sticky as Major Fubar is right to say, then it remains at the same place and everybody can see it. And in case u ask why the "suggestions for ofp2" subject should be made a sticky more than another subject, I think that when you love a game and come to its forum, 2 of the important things u want to talk about are: what's wrong with the game just now and what improvement would u like to see in the next patch/version.

    Best place for ofp2 suggestions?

Yeah as I said I saw this thread and I was just asking if we could use it as our "official" thread then (although it looks quite official already with 270 replies already! ). I was also asking (to the admins) if we could maybe keep this thread on top of the list then, make it kind of official...
  6. I've searched the forum for an official "suggestions for ofp2 features" but couldn't find any (or have I missed it?). I can see a thread called "What would you like to see in ofp2" in this place that seems to concentrate everybody's suggestions. I think that so far, BIS team have proved with this very active forum that they really listen to player's feedback to their best. So I think it is in their interest (as well as player's interest) to hear from player's wishes for the next operation flashpoint version. Thus I would really like to see an always-opened, always-on-top-of-the-list official thread dedicated to "Operation Flashpoint 2: suggestions for improvement" or smthg like that. And in that way to make sure that the BIS team can take a look at it at any time and maybe extract some very good ideas from it. In any case, it will always remain a simple thread full of free information that both developpers and players can use the way they want. So my question is: is there such an official thread that I've missed out? If not, should I use this "What would you like to see in ofp2" thread to put my own suggestions for improvement? If that's the case, can we possibly make this thread kinda official then, always visible on top of the list? Well, that's it, thanks!

    Wind "blowing" in my ears

IT WOOOOOORKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Â Â Advocatexxx you're the best man, the BEEEST!!!!! Â Â As u said, I went to res folder (coz I'm playing resistance campaign, for cold war crisis go directly to DTA folder), then went to DTA, depbo sound.pbo, go to object folder, replace noise.wss by a blank noise, repbo the whole thing and no more bloody wind blowing in my ears!!!!!!! Well spotted my friend, u've just solved a pb I've had for a year, since I bought the game! I'm gonna enjoy playing much much more now... Thank u so much, u can be proud of making someone happy in this world! Â And thanks to everyone else who participated to this thread as well !

Damn, didn't get time to try Advocatexxx's trick with the noise.wss last night. I will definitely try it tonight and tell u if it's working or not b4 this topic gets locked  The more it gets and the more it looks like I'm the only one to have this "blowing wind" pb.... *sick*

    Wind "blowing" in my ears

To answer to Shadow... I don't remember any difference if I'm on top of a mountain. But this noise is always VERY loud anyway. And I've always experienced it when playing ofp. But something sure is that it seems to appear a bit randomly sometimes: in 1 situation (for ex. when I'm running in the middle of a field) I will hear it very loudly as usual. The day after, in the same situation, I won't hear it at all! Sometimes, it takes also some time in the game (maybe 10 min) b4 appearing but then it never goes away! Also while I'm running, this noise is sometimes discontinued. Sometimes it will stop after a while and start again. Even when I walk. To figure out how the noise is like it's very easy: imagine u r riding fast on your bike and that's exactly the same noise you get in your ears, it looks real!

I didn't know that....... I'm trying to find your wssCOD on the internet but get no match found, even when trying "wss cod" or "wss-cod". Is that the actual name of the software?? I'm trying to find another wss encoder instead but if I could get a very tiny simple one (knowing what I've got to do with it) I would be glad... Cheers!

    Wind "blowing" in my ears

Wahooo that sounds cool!!! I had never heard of that trick b4 and I will try it tonight, will tell u if it works. By the way, u said it was more annoying than useful but... what is this noise.wss file?? What is its purpose? In the mean time, if anyone else has a suggestion, I would like to try it as well (in case the noise.wss trick doesn't work). Thanks very much for your help!!

    Wind "blowing" in my ears

U're right Angry Radish, I've tried it some time ago and I don't remember any improvement at all. I promise I will try again tonight anyway... I got also that directx.cpl file from the avon lady FAQ a long time ago, installed it, put directsound debug level to the minnimum but didn't notice any change at all. I'm really desperate to find out what the pb is, I know my drivers are all up-to-date, I don't have any sound pb at all with any other game either, apart from that "blowing wind" in ofp, which made me think it was actually normal. Can't find anyone with the same pb either... Thanks anyway!

    Wind "blowing" in my ears

I've never tried or noticed that... Actually I've already used A10 and never had such a problem so far. But my problem is on the ground with no vehicle. I've never had a sound problem of any sort when using any kind of vehicle. By the way, I don't use EAX, turn down music to the min and use hardware acceleration. Oh yes, as I said I've never had any "crackling sound" pb but "blowing wind" pb only Thanks anyway!

That's not silly, You r right to ask the question just in case! No it's definitely not my character breathing. I can hear that too and it's a distinctive noise. I can easily hear both breathing and "blowing wind" at the same time. Thanks anyway!
