    SLX MOD public release

zGuba, where is your Vehicle 1.1A (or later) fix? It seems that the links in this thread just go to an empty page on your forums that keep reloading but there is no file. Thx!
  3. Edit: never mind, I posted in the SLX thread - zGuba will see it there sooner.
  4. Can you try it with only UNAFOV? Perhaps some other addons interfere with it? I have a bunch of addons, but I have no FOV issues in SP and I also have no map issues in widescreen mode. (Using WinXP 32 bit.)
  5. Sorry, didn't know that - I only play SP.

    fixed range nightvision

Also, would it be possible to remove the PgUp/PgDn keys and change them to action menu items? I use PgUp/PgDn for prone/kneel (since OFP), so this addon interferes with that and I cannot use it. Having action menu items would make it more flexible.
  7. To all with FOV issues: I'm using the unafov 1.1 addon and I don't seem to have any FOV issues after 1.15. (I'm using the 1.08 FOV values.)
  8. Thank you very much everyone at BIS for this patch - very nice surprise indeed. While it would've been better to have the game in this shape from the beginning, I appreciate all the work that you did to turn ArmA into the great game it is now. Merry Christmas! Most likely because that's not permitted under Vista (and even under XP, it might not work for non-admin users - not 100% sure.) All users have access to their own My Documents folder.

Thanks for all your work, this sound mod is pretty impressive.

    The Dreaded Lock-UP

Had the same problem - this happens every once in a while (not very frequently.) Guess what, I'm using an nVidia GeForce 8600 GT with the 175.16 driver, on XP SP3, 3 GB RAM. I'm fairly convinced this is an nVidia issue because I recently got this card and had no problems with the earlier one (which was also nVidia) under 1.14.

    Patch 1.14 Troubleshooting

It's most likely a problem with an addon that you have, especially since you mentioned that the game works fine without them. Try removing all custom addons and adding them back one by one to see which one is broken.

    VFAI - AI Extension

VictorFarbau: the puny animation pack addon had a similar problem: the item in the action menu also popped up in the middle of the screen but then william1 changed something in the config and now it ony appears in the action menu, not on the screen. Here is a link to the thread - the version that has this fix is on the bottom of the page 6: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....1;st=75 Would you mind extracting the config from that addon and see how the author fixed it? I'd appreciate it a lot - I like your addon but these action menu "icons" drive me crazy.

    VFAI - AI Extension

Thank you very much for this update! Edit: there is one change I'd like to ask for; can you please make the action menu item never show up in the middle of the screen? It seems that it comes up all the time when the player is a leader. Also, I think I found a bug: the control panel always closes right away after opening - the only way to keep it open is to keep the Enter key pressed continously.

Best way to kill unwanted processes in WinXP

I don't know that particular utility, so I cannot add anything useful about that. But I'm a software engineer and I know how data is stored in the registry, so I know that doing a proper clean-up utility is very far from being trivial. I'm glad that this particular software worked out for you, but in general any registry cleaner should be untrusted.

Best way to kill unwanted processes in WinXP

I strongly advise you against using such "clean-up" utilities. You have no idea what they try to clean up and how they would go about it. Your best option is to uninstall the programs that you don't need. Alternatively, you can download Autoruns from www.sysinternals.com and turn off the auto-start of unnecessary programs. Be aware, that this is a developer utility and it assumes that you know what you're doing when turning off things. (It's free for personal use.) By using it, your programs stay installed but they don't start when you run your computer. If you need their services, you'll have to launch them manually. You can post a list of all your processes here if you want a bit more help. (Take a screenshot of Task Manager's Processes tab. If you do so, check the Show processes from all users checkbox on the bottom.)

Hmm, I think ArmA 2 screenshots look more convincing than those OFP2-s.

Best way to kill unwanted processes in WinXP

Suma is right. You shouldn't kill processes unless you need to. When you kill a process (as opposed to closing it properly), you don't know if all system resources associated to it are correcly freed up or not. With services, just go to Control Panel->Admin Tools->Services and set the startup type to manual/disabled to services you don't need. If you bought your computer from a place like Circuit City/Best Buy/Tesco or some similar big chain, it's more than likely that you have loads of unnecessary programs running. You should consider uninstalling them if you don't use/need them.

    VFAI - AI Extension

It'd be nice to have  an action menu item to stop/start collecting weapons. The reason for this is because it seems that in many cases when they think they need new weapons they ignore "go to" orders while they're trying to rearm. This is a problem in many situations when the squad has to move together and quickly, since right now there is no way to tell them that they have to follow rather than wander away. So an option to stop them from making decisions would be nice. Then another to allow them again, once the situation is better. Very good addon, makes the game a lot more "alive".
  24. It seems (not 100% sure yet) that the dialog doesn't work when reloading a game. I found several missions already where I had problems opening the dialog - it seems to work at the beginning of missions, but it stops working when I reload a saved game. When it stops working, the only way to get it back is to restart ArmA. I'll try to use it a bit more to see if the above is correct - for the time being it's just guessing based on a few observations.
