  1. We don't have intention to change ACE mod in ArmA 3. Ace mod for ArmA 3 wil be ACE mod and TacBF planing to be compatible with ACE so you will be able to enjoy both mods same time. ACE is already set up some standards in ArmA and will be in ArmA 3 I hope. I don't know any news about it, and hope ACE Devs working hard on the ACE mod and we wish them good luck.
  2. It is still beta and to observe some thing we need number of players. In about the month will be update according to observation we are making right now. Also I will like we talk about technical issue out of BIS forum.     OK just answer me one question. If I'm wrong why the my nonsense is supported by AMD and Nvidia and they spend time and money to develop tools for that like Nvidia inspector or Radeon pro? Just answer me why or they talking nonsense and are stupid to do that. I don't want to lead useless debates with always know better and must be right even if this means to completely twisted someones words and some details put it out of contents. Concept is proven not just by me in multiple games. All this what I say I was just prove by 6 hour of playing TacBF on server with my friends. Limit on 30fps give me exactly same performance more than 80% of the time. From time to time was some performance drops well known by smoke effects or explosions but was not drop below 24 and and GPU was fast recover and raise it up to 30 again. R9 290 is famous by very high working temperature could work normally up to 95C. My GPU was working below 80C all the time when without is always above 90C. This is my last post and testimonial about this issue so if you wan to try what I was saying you don't have nothing to lose. I was testing allot of different setups with old rig but new one give me instant satisfaction. So is it possible to play on ultra? Yes. Do I need too expensive components? No. GPU is in range of 350-600$ (AMD - r9 280x, r9 290 and r9 290x, Nvidia - 770 and 780) My problems with performance is solved and that was only my concern do I will have problems with new hardware and where is the limit. I read lots of post where people with better GPU and CPU I have right now having problems what scare me to invest 1500$ without results and now after I do it I'm finally happy with ArmA 3. Do someone want to trust in my experience and observation I don't care for me personally this thread is closed and solved. So on this thread wormeaten is over and out.

    Exactly. This is the point of all of this. 24fps is just human eye. but in technical terms it is just one part of the puzzle. So refresh rate of your screan and fps in game should be synchronized. On 60HZ 24fps in game will look similar as 20fps because of desync between in game fps and performance of your screen and 20fps is something below performance your brain processing images from your eye. So conclusion should be if you got more than 60 fps and only 60HZ monitor you don't need this frames above 60 better save your GPU and limit to 60fps because this saves your GPU and when will come drop below 60fps this drop will be less noticeable and your GPU will faster recover back. Those who fly CloD will understand, if you want your plane keep good performance when you need it you have to save your engine when ever you can. It is like pitch and you know if you constantly fly above 2800rpm it is just matter of time when your engine will fail and that is always happened when you need it more then ever. In this case your monitor is bottle neck and every frame above 60 is waist of energy, GPU power e.t.c. Your monitor already have limitation to 60fps so synchronize your GPU with it. In case your have from 30 to 37 fps for example this over 30 is not big deal because is out of sync with your monitor. You will gain more by limit it to 30fps because when it is drop below 30 will recover faster and it is more sync with your monitor (60/30=2). On 37fps because of desync with your monitor on screen out performance could be maximum 31-32fps (60/37=1.62) what is on screan again most of the time is every second frame. So it is better save this power than waist it. Don't expect miracles but this trick definitely in general provide more smooth gameplay. even if you have 24-28fps it is better to limt it to 20. I know it is noticeable but not much more than 24fps on 60HZ monitor. It was work for me on old rig with low performance. When drop of the performance happened without limit was drop to 5fps but with limit on 20fps drop was to 8-9fps with faster recovering. It was still crap but better. This is advice to those who having problems with fps it is based on some logic and like I say must be something in here when AMD and Nvidia provide tools for it. You don't have nothing to lose, try it and test it its free. Even now I'm playing on ULTRA with limit on 30fps and it is briliant now. Looks like movie now not the game. To repeat I update to i5 4670k (3.4 default not OC yet) 8GB DDR3-1600, R9 290 and now my GPU working on 100% and 60% 4GB VRAM on 1080p and my monitor is 60HZ. Without limit my fps on MP server is max 40 avrg 34 min 18. with limit on 30fps max 30 avrg 29 min 23 but my GPU power is more focused on 8xAA and other beauties of visual effects and most important now finally I can fully enjoy in the game. And that is the point find the balance and sync your hardware in all way you can to get most your hardware can do. I can do more than 60fps noe if I reduce view distance and details without AA but what is the point when this 30fps with all this details give me much more and I lowe it.

    I sad I set up on 30 fps on 60 HZ screen. This not smooth picture could be cause of many other reasons and it is not change fact your eye only can see 24 fps. Only if you are Clark Kent then sorry. For example on IL2 CloD I have similar problems and not smooth picture when we limit fps on 30 game start to go smooth giving just an opposite effect than it is on your youtube example. And BTW PAL/SECAM system is 50 HZ and picture 25 fps used in Europe mostly opposing North America and Japan NTSC standard 60 HZ 30 (29.97) fps. check this video with some smart ass and go on ATAG forum check discusion about limit fps and results.ArmA is game with lots of LOD to load much more than game like Bf3 or 4 or CoD MW more similar like flight sims so could have benefit from limiting fps. Sorry rest of us are just ordinary humans with all limitation mother nature give us. Problem of flickering and not smooth game doesn't have to be because fps but if you have stable above 60 than you should limit it to 60fps especially if your monitor have 60HZ which support only to 60 fps. For all of those who have less than 60 fps is better to limit it to 30. Just check simple mathematics you save some resources of GPU to the moment when it is needed when drop of performance come, lower temperature of GPU, lower utilization of GPU but not because of bottleneck this reserve is instantly ready. But what to talk to someone who don't trust to the facts of nature and mathematics. And one more thing I'm stupid and talking nonsense so tell me than why such feature is supported by AMD and Nvidia and build custom tools for such tweak if it is nonsense? If you people don't want to trust me you should trust to those who invented GPUs you are using. Trust them. I think they know something about it.

    I just upgrade my rig. i5 4670k default 3.4, 8gb RAM-1600, R9 290. Now I'm able to play on ULTRA setings avarage above 30fps on more than 50 players Tactical Battlefield PvP MP server. Game play is smooth most of the time only drop of fps happened whit some huge explosion near by but stabilize fast so not effecting much on smoothness. According to RadeonPro GPU is most of the time on 100%. I gues with some tweaking and reducing some unnecessary things and OC of CPU I could even increase this performance on 1080p up to 40 average. Also there is now tendency to limit fps on 30 what stabilize usage of GPU and CPU and made graphics performance more smooth without large amplitudes in GPU usage. Human eye only see 24fps any way and 95% of the monitors can't show more than 60fps so why we need to push it over?

  8. Yes. TB is community friendly mod with best communication and involvement of community in developing. Yes for ACRE too. We are planing to use ACRE in some way definitely, we even have build in TB mod ACRE overlay so you could see name tag who is speaking. Only problem right now is ACRE it self is not finalized and for public servers use is hard to force it. I don't know is it some scripts to make it possible to force it or do something similar like PRBf2 with mumble. For now ACRE will be used in organized or closed events where we can force it for all players. On public servers problem is in communication and this mod is highly depend on good communication between squads and coordination of movement. If you don't have good communication you are in half way to lose round. Yes I will like ACRE to be used and standard in TB but this is more depend on ACRE then on us in this moment.   10. According to your video your Tactical Battlefield mod is not properly installed or lunched. There is no TacBf icon near CBA icon on right side of your main screen and on the bottom right say only CBA is installed. In expansions where you pointed should say Tactical Battlefield and you should see logo same as for CBA but you have TacBf without logo so or mod is not good installed or you didn't run it properly. Your Extensions just showing you have TacBf mod folder but is it properly installed or run. 1. How do you run the mod? 2. what is conntent of your @TacBf folder?
  11. Definitely, third view give you some advantage to spot thing you will normally don't for example be in cover behind wall but you are able to see above and on side. This give you unrealistic advantage what actually could destroy all effort you put in some ambush. I'm not for 3rd person in PvP.

  13. Just to correct something. This statement could create some misunderstanding or it is based on one already. PR could use it as well we was in PR team same as we because it is our intellectual ownership in the end and that is written in our agreement when we join the PR mod team. Things are much more simpler in fact. PR decide to re code everything from the scratch for A3 doing completely new mod. And just simple we separate here. Simply I just believe in our previous work and was planing lots of improvement and could not just like that abandon our work which dated since ArmA1 days. I spend nice 3 years in PR team as Dev and was nice experience which I will never forget but time come when our paths goes in different direction and I wish them good luck in their future work. This is just simple true about this from first hand and I'm hoping will fix this misunderstanding, in the end we all working for benefit to the ArmA PvP community.
  14. 1: Friend start server true the game I was join on him. Only two of us. I see triggers working when I was shooting on him on his model I was not able to see my hit box to be honest didn't try it at all. 2. Both was running EBS. 3. We try separately with AI and I think this part working. Didn't play much with AI to be able to say difference between vanilla AI reaction and with EBS.
  15. For players should be different than for AI and what is the point of having suppressing fire effect only on AI? It is hacking tool that way. If you are allow to suppressing AI they should be able to suppress you back same way. Suppressing fire is one of most realistic feature in game. In real life it is essential team work strategy. Problem is how to transfer it to game engine which is very limited according to real life physics. Other problem is psychical nature. In real life there is no re spawn or restart mission. Once you get killed it is over forever, total blackout. So every training in essence is based to survive and stay alive. example for it is this video shoving how humans try to stay in cover even if it is smallest cover possible turning in to the turtle. In game people don't react like in real life because they know it is not real threat so they will do exactly opposite than in real life situation risking and try to spot enemy to shoot back even they are aware could be killed what is shown on this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAC9ByVHo2Y So in game we need something what will force human players to react same way like in real life and force them in to the cover or hit the ground. And it is not need to be some realistic feature because this is game and sometimes not that realistic features could increase over all realistic experience in game. This could be achieved with some effects like for example: reducing visibility with blur or similar effect. This simulating focusing vision to be able easy find target. increase fatigue effect to reducing combat efficiency what will cause effort to eliminate threat before he eliminate you pointless. Those are two major points which will force human players to find cover to eliminate or reducing suppressing fire effect. With some other effects and tweaking we could get that human players will react same way like in real life and this should be in SP as well as in MP gameplay no matter against AI or other human opponents. Point is if you are able to suppressing you should be able to be suppressed as well. This is working in both ways. Yes basically we just shoot on itch other aimed to miss. Shoot triggers are working properly changing colors and size only there was no effects on us at all.
  16. Who, me? Yes I am otherwise will not work at all. I just don't see any visual effects on players which will simulate suppression. Debug shows triggers are working. One more prove I set config properly.
  17. I try this with my m8, 1.07 version, and it is work on AI but no effect on player at all. When I'm shooting on enemy human guided soldier debug shows the LOD reacting changing colors and re sizing but no visual effects for human player who is suppressed. Is this OK or not?
  18. I read that recently NVIDIA implement support for ArmA3 in new SLI driver. I'm wondering did anybody try ArmA3 with new drivers in SLI and what the results are? I'm especially interested in GTX 760 in SLI. Thanks.
  19. For this results be comparable we need both fps no SLI fps and with SLI fps. Example 1 with gain of 10fps: no SLI 30fps with SLI 40fps what is 33% better. Example 2 with gain of 10fps: no SLI 20fps with SLI 30fps what is 50% better. Example 3 with gain of 10fps: no SLI 40fps with SLI 50fps what is 25% better. This is example to see what benefit and efficiency of SLI in ArmA 3 is and how if you just send part of results actually didn't say nothing about. So people or Devs cant get valuable information to do some improvement. Other games who support SLI have gain from 80 to 95% depend on game optimization. So to be competitive ArmA 3 with 30fps in no SLI should have in SLI gain of 80% is 25 fps what is in general 55fps. If the results is lower than 80% this is not good optimized yet so benefit of SLI is still questionable. Comparison of 2x SLI GTX760 with single GTX780 for example should be interesting and not much difference in results but in favor of 2x GTX 760 SLI.

    Game should be released and get out from beta in about 2 months. They say will be released q3 end of q3 is end of September, October is already starting q4. but I doubt it will be ready for q3. So far this problem is reported since alpha release 5th march. So fare in this 5 months there is no major or any improvements of the performances at all. Could they done miracle in 60 days? So my advice to you is to save your nerves only solution is uninstall it and try in about 2 years. Maybe you will be better luck in two years. Basically they can't optimize engine they need new one and they don't work on it at all. Engine is to old to be possible to optimize it for new hardware we wll have and it is standard already few years.

    ArmA4? What ArmA 4 when ArmA 3 will dead before it will be fully released. You know from my experience with windows OS if you try to fix some problems in your system could spend months to not solve it but usual repair and most efficient is make back up of most important data you need, Format c: and reinstal your OS from scratch and in few days you will not remeber you was having problems at all. My advice to BIS is ... Format c:
  23. No unfortunately I don't have SLI or NVIDIA but I'm interested in this issue I'm looking on GTX 760. 2x 760 cost 500$ and in other games giving 15 to 20% better than 600$ gtx 780. SLI in ArmA 3 was not supported until last driver changes so it is time to start collecting information how this effecting on ArmA 3. I hope AMD will soon add support for CF ass well then we could expand this thread on CF because it is actually same issue. And will be help to Dev's because game engine need to be optimized with hardware and in this days SLI/CF or multiple core CPU are almost standard now. Biggest bottleneck is in game engine and with such good information we could provide valuable data to devs in their attempt to better optimizing game engine.
  24. The biggest problem is that some people have bottlenecks in their brain. No one ask you nothing about bottlenecks. Could you pleas live us alone and if you want debate about your bottlenecks on threads where this is theme not here. Go terrorize someone else not us here. We just try to share information's and results so we could latter debate about it is it good or not, is the benefit for all the same or not etc. In the end you just misleading people here and not help at all just opposite so when we loose nerves because your bottleneck terrorism and react I will be infarct again so better stick your bottle neck somewhere else. People don't be discouraged by this bottleneck experts and continuing send an information's about SLI so we who is interested could compare it to help tweak SLI in future or to provide developers with good and solid information's. And one more about bottleneck on CPU. How this could be bottleneck at all if reach 50% of usage?

Question is clear so if you not have valuable information about NVIDIA graphic card in SLI pleas spare us with your philosophic debate about CPU and bottlenecking GPU. There is multiple threads on this forum with this subject so go there. Subject is good and respond as well so I expecting more results and shared experience in this SLI field to help it tweak best as possible. Thanks one more time to those who keep the subject.
