Apparantly, 4U chassies are the ones that are of the same proportions as standard chassi. We still got to look into it, it can be a very efficient solution. But, if you dont need a GFX (as my parents comp wouldn't require) a 2U chassi would be enough for standard components, aslong as I get a 2U fan.

Can you fit a PCI-E card in a 2U chassi (family thinking of getting a compact solution for all the comps, in a small rack)? Or do I need the 3U? I've read somewhere that 3U chassis constructions are unstable, but that might have been just one brand. Thanks for input wex

E6600 can easily be clocked to the performance of the X6800 and above, with some better cooling, way above with water or liquid gas. For half the price! So, basicly: Anything above the E6600 is a waiste of money (compared to the better Core 2 Duo CPUs, when comparing performance to price)

Liquid gas and you can probably get it to 5+ I think that dirtylarrygb covered the most you need to know. Seeing as you might play other games then ArmA, and that patches are being worked on for performance and alike, the 8800GTX is a good investement if you have the money. And the most important that he also said: The PSU! Very important. If you're going to have SLI, be sure to have an SLI-certified PSU, with atleast 500W power, but the 650-700W are usually at a great price. Happy computing! wex

Get an E6600, and overclock it. It can go approx 40% overclock with standard cooling. Keep the 8800GTX, good for the future, even if people have problems now, I think that performance patches will fix it. Get XP instead of Vista. Takes less on the memory. My point of view wex

I have nothing to hide, but the HD is full of viruses and crap, but the 40GB is well enough for my sister I've checked out DBAN, and I will plug in the floppy today, download and run it. Thanks for help wex

I'm having trouble with using the FORMAT command in MS DOS, and there's no help on Microsofts webpage, and I can't find anything about the problem on any webpage. First I "write format c:" and it asks for the name of the drive, I put in "local disc" and then it warns cause all files will go, I say yes, do it anyways, and then it says that the command format couldn't be used because the harddrive (getting formatted) was used by another process. So, instead, I'll try to find an XP-cd, I have it somewhere back in the closet, and try to clear the installation with that wex

How do I completely empty a harddrive? I have a FAT32 (yuck ) formatted drive, wich I want to complete wipe clean, and at the same time reformat to NFTS (or whatever it is). How do I do so? I'm terrible with softwaring

Can we make a new rule: "No general whine/nagg-threads", I mean, I've seen so many threads that say, "Why isn't the game that good?", "Why is that mission so bad?", "Why are the servers full of n00bs?" etc etc. Most of the threads are already covered in "Open letter to BIS"-thread and alike, but most of the threads that come are just whining and whining and whining. Keep in mind that some of the windows processes has pretty wierd names, but their are lists of the processes from XP (and other OS probably), not sure where you can find them, probably just Google it and you'll find.

Well, not necessarely. The current "leader" of ArmA mark has SLI 8800GTX, and the runner-ups have single 8800GTX with different CPUs. Their quality range from normal to high with WD of 1000m-3000m. I would go for a 8800GTX, because they will probably fix the performance-issue in later patches. wex

If no change of settings work, check if the cables are well attatched and doesn't fit loosely, check the cables for any damage, and last but not least, check if the soundcard is badely attachted. For 100% help, you could post what soundcard you have. Regards wex
