if a mission requires addons A , B and C to work and only addons A and C are written in the mission .sqm addons required list these mission will work when you host a game on your computer but a dedicated server wont run them and will put you straight back to the mission selection list...you will have to open up these missions and fix them..usually opening them and previewing in the mission editor and resaving them is enough..but some missions that create units mid mission via scripts can be a pain in the arse cos you gotta find out what there are and add them manually in the mission.sqm also as pathy said if a theres an addon in the list thats not on the server you need to remove it from the list also if your server is a lynux server missions with capital letters in the mission name wont work either so for EG. mission name this 1-8_FlagFight.NOE wont work this will 1-8_flagfight.noe just rename it and it will work

wot based on the film ? so you get random weapons at the start and have to get out of the death zones by a certain time and all that malarky ? wicked film and will make a fun mission just need a japanese schoolgirl with uzi's addon

yes something along the lines of coc's command engine working from hq's command vehicle would be wicked but i imagine very hard to do would be a very useful addon for things like fer's platoon assault missions

most "proper" custom islands with custom textures and objects i think you find the file sizes can get quite large and why would you want to connect to a game server when nobodies playing to get a shitty download speed ...you can just get them from a website nice and fast if thats the case if theres gonna be ingame downloads supported it should redirect to a ftp server and nothing else but i prefer how it is now because you can organise your own addons how you see fit.. i wouldn't like to download addons and then have them all go into the default addons folder cos you wouldn't know wtf was what

hmm it does ? its has a description.ext wizard tool in it where you can setup player respawns but thats got fook all to do with getting a flag back on a pole once the owner of the flag has died and its lay on the floor for say 30 seconds

well you should join servers that have set up their game server to direct you to an ftp download and you will have the custom maps and stuff before you've even realized you've had to download stuff. mostly its just a load of bollocks .wav sounds from annoying admin mods and anyway i cant believe your complaining about downloading stuff on counter strike its not like people play any other map the dust2 the steam way of dealing with custom content is actually rather good if the admins can be arsed to set it up properly so your not downloading at 8kb a second or whatever from the game server and get a nice fast download from a website

unpbo the buildings addons and set the folders up in the correct manner in wrptool which comes with a nice big manual tp tell you how..you can then place them on your island

get the NVG_proxy.p3d and the installer.bat file from llauma's sky that replaces the night vision with the INQ model put the .p3d in the new data folder and put the installer in @modulsky folder and run the installer if you want different optics on the nightvision you need to swap the files named nightvisiontl <--the optics shape night_sum.01 <-- the grainy textures of the night vision night_sum.02 night_sum.03 night_sum.04 night_sum.05 note: if you change the grainy textures the nightvision effects in DXDLL wont work. if you want those effects to work delete those 5 files and just keep the .p3d and nightvisiontl texture

the only thing ive seen like this is the working maps built into the BAS heli's but they only show your own position and not all units

can i just say publicly executing people isn't the way to go it only does harm to yourselves and make you look like a bunch of arrogant plonkers.. a simple kick would suffice and have them same results (get the lamers off the server ) you can then kill their useless AI when they have left..its down to the order with which you do it shooting them beforehand execution style is just plain wrong and brings the whole nights atmosfear down and has a negative effect to the gaming atmosfear in the following weeks.. the more we encourage people to play in our coop style the better the more rambo's we convert to teamplay the better getting all medival on their ass doesn't help the cause as they dont learn the ways to go on they'll just think fuck those guys remember in an ideal ofp world we want players who WANT to play as a team rather than players who are forced to stay inline and in extreme cases where people need to be removed from the server kick first shoot later ...not the other way round as it gives a terrible impression to newcomers and forum users who will think screw that i'm not playing with those guys you obviously dont have to take my advice if you dont want to but as an old and (i hope) respected member of the cia gaming community i hope you will listen

well seen as you tried 3 times i guess its you doing something wrong to install them rather than the downloads being buggered.. your gonna have to be more helpful in describing your problem because "this doesn't work please help me" isn't really enough to go off if you want people to help you to get them working.. are you using modfolders or just chucking stuff in addons folder or res/addons ? do you have all the BAS stuff ? those units require jam_magazines do you get any errors when you run the game ? eg. "addon bas_blahblah requires jam_magazines" or similar error pop ups before the game runs does the other BAS tonal stuff work ok but only these guys dont show up in the editor ? try and be a bit more descriptive and people wil be able to help you oh and placebo's probably gonna slap your wrist for posting in the wrong part of forum :P

oops lol dont group gamelogics to the player i just hideously crashed my computer ok using sancs anchor unit trick to test i figured out that trick to force guy to random spots that you choose not totally random but it should work in the forests 1: put your unit on the map you want to spawn randomly placed 2: place a number of markers at a few different places you want him to start (use EMPTY type markers so they wont show up on the map) 3:group him to all the markers thats it he will now start at any of the markers randomly everytime you start the mission and you can still group units to him

You may not have noticed, but if you sprint for a while you slow down... EDIT: oh, you were talking about running, well, in that case i said nothing thats the bug he's talking about when you strafe and hold sprint key then turn the mouse slightly you dont slow down and can sprint up hills..you still get tired and sound out of breath but dont slow down...when you stop of coarse you knackered and in mods like wgl or finmod you cant aim for shit when you stop running..but until you stop running you can go full speed for ever if you keep a nice angle and you can do with any anims packs aswell although its a bit harder to get it right with sanctuary's

isn't there a trick you can do with a gamelogic (i think a logic anyway) where you can put a few on the map and group the units to them and they will start at one of gamelogics randomly ?
