Hi, yeah CH_123, but that's the theory, as we all know... there's a big difference from the theory to the practice; in theory, the entire IDM has replaced the CETMEs by the G36s, but, if you go to the companys... you'll find that there're alot of CETME L, LC & LV in service, same goes for the CETME C, which some good C & CV ones have survived the burn and still touring by the world with our troops. This can be extrapolated to bigger and more expensive equipment, like the AH-1W that still flying with the USMC and not only with the IDM, i bet you a beer that in the 2011 some gonna keep flying with booth corps, as the CH-46E and D. But, as the Sea Knight is not on the BIS list... who cares!? we've a MV-22B, so fuck the CH-46E, im very happy with the rotary wing aircraft list that BIS has made for us. The only compain that i've about it, are the green tinted cockpit glasses that BIS haven't made on the S-70 and UH-1Y. I hope that they keep the AV8s and that allow us to aim the bombs for the YF-35s with the UH1s FLIR. Good job BIS. Let's C ya

Hi, the sense in have a CH-46E it's that the Sea Knight gonna be keept in service in the year 2011, same as the AV-8BII++, as cargo lifter and troops transport; but as we already have S70's and UH1's... we already have the troops transports that we need. I doubt that we gonna be able of lift any supply or vehicle with the choppers anyways; so yeah, it's not that important to don't have the CH-46E or the MH-53E in the game. But it will make sense, they gonna be in service in the 2011 for sure. Let's C ya

The importance of well made Tutorials
wipman replied to GepardenK's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Hi, no i didn't; but because i played the OFP and the thing hasn't changed that much. What i'll like as tuturial, will be some missions for the Editor, things to check the anims, then copy and paste 'em for use 'em in your own missions, scripts that use in your own made missions booth SP & MP and also a good commands refference, as .pdf with the game, that will help us very much; as add some entries explaining some basic tactics, as use cover, sniping, how to take advantage on the area's topography and the available resources, squad's weapons, vehicles at disposal, units etc. Aside of a mini campaign that represents a military instruction, with lessons about the weaponry, the chain of command, infiltration, enemy recognition, procedures regarding the prisoners, the civilians, IEDs etc. That'll be pimp; but what i'll like the most, will be a commands refference. Hi, im very happy with the rotary wing vehicles section; MI-8 MTV, KA-52 in camo scheme... the MV-22B isn't there (yet) but it'll be soon i guess; it's true that's a bit sad to don't have a MH-53E for heavy loads or transport entire sections to/by the battlefield, but a man is working on a MH-53E for the ArmA so it could be ported. It's a very big hit to don't have a CH-46E, those won't gonna go in the 2011, im sure of it, and have one will be just great, but we can live with it always that we don't want to move arty guns, lots of ammo crates, uparmoured HMMWVs, LAVs, AAV7Ps or just trucks. The Venom and the Seahawk or the Osprey can't lift 'em so we gonna have to live with that as we've always made with the leak of a propper logistics chain to support our virtual wars and war crimes. But im really happy with that MI-8 MTV. Let's C ya

Hi, as far as i know, the Marines don't have any MLRS look alike system; the "closer" thing that they have (AFAIK) yet, are the M-109s; that are deployed once you've a good piece of safe land under your control; and then... you deploy the fat things on the ground when it's safe for the disembarq vessels to touch again the beach or shore and pass a long time deploying all the supply and support things that your troops gonna need for a short period of time, release it and go back to the sea to a safer possition. That may be why we don't see any MLRS/BM-24 look alike thing; and for the gallery: Spanish Marine Infantry M-996 HMMWV. Check the side exhaust, can you see it?! 'couse i don't see it on the BIS HMMWV... . Let's C ya
-
Hi, the HMMWVs without the left side exhaust, are the US army ones; the ones with it, are the USMC HMMWVs. If they've made it with the exhaust on the right, that's bad because that's fictional, thing that i wouldn't spect and if it don't have it... then that's bad, because it would be a US army HMMWV, and we're talking about the Marines here, we don't need any US army crap. So, i hope that they place the exhaust where it should be and that they don't add any damn army scum thing to the game because if we have the Marines... we-don't-need (read: want) the-army. Let's C ya

Hi, so those "new" ones are ready for download already, Messiah?. Let's C ya
-
Hi, i don't know if someone has noticed it, but... the HMMWV have the exhaust in the wrong side, it should be on the left side and the hood snorkel should be longer, reaching the roof's height. Please BIS... fix that now that you're on time. Let's C ya

Hi, they could improve a bit the Fatjoe's textures, or the models... they could also improve the AWP... that gives a error message when you aim tru the scope... everything can be improved; even a 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Let's C ya

Arma II Officially Better Looking Than Crysis?
wipman replied to walker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hi, to me the view distance it's important, but as i mainly play as a grunt or as much.. as MBT crewman... it don't really makes much difference; but keep in mind the weapons range, 25Km for the Maverics, 18Km for the Hellfires, 6 to 8Km for the M1A1 and T-84 main guns, 1'8 to 2'2Km for the M2HB machinegun. A good valance between the max engagement/scan range and the effective/scan range it's better. I would like that the ArmA2 manages and allows a bit more of view distance than the current ArmA, that for me it's 3'5Km in SP and 2'5Km in MP (when i can switch it in the mission itself); but that's because i don't use to use planes, that need a bigger efective view distance to take aproach and exit routes etc to put the planes in good service. Arma II Officially Better Looking Than Crysis?
wipman replied to walker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hi, i don't know in what school you've studied Dentist Guba, but here; in spain, 1.000 = 1000. 1 = 1. So... the next time learn a bit of how other countryes use the maths and how other people express 'emselves. What my previous post there basicaly says is: i preffer the ArmA and sure that the ArmA2 aswell than the Crysis. And also to the OFP2. The ArmA and the ArmA2 (judging by the videos) look thousand of times better than that codemasters and EA crap. That's what the previous post says. And what some call "bitching" is what i call "care"; for the small details and a credible representation of the elements present in the game, such as weaponry, the vehicles, the units and everything else; at least to use a self tittle as "the ultimate combat simulator". Once said this... the only thing that i can say is that im still with BIS even when some of the "features" (read: bugs, errors and limitations) make me really angry, because i know that they can make it better. Let's C ya -
Hi, in the ArmA, i miss an AI copilot on choppers like the HH-60 FFAAR, the MI-8 MTV PKM (aka MI-17) and the MI-8 MTV with rockets; will be great to have such helicopters with the full combat crew; pilot, copilot, gunner (or gunners) and the cargo manager, same for the planes, like the KC-130 or the hybrid MV-22B on the ArmA2. Let's C ya

Hi, i agree, it'll be great; as will be to be able to move with the binocs on the hand, lowering 'em down when moving, rolling or even running. Other thing that will be nice about the binocs, will be to have a much more modern and military model of binocs, may be even various binocs models, the russian binocs... the yankee binocs... and maybe even two different civilian binocs versions, let's say... Zenith and Nikon for example?. The classname could be binocs_us, binocs_russ etc. I will love it. Let's C ya
-
Hi, buah man, i hope that you be wrong on that... the vehicle interiors was one of the very good things on the OFP and will be damn great to have 'em back on the ArmA2, giving more life or feeling if you want, to the game; if they don't add 'em, then the gave will suck a bit more. Let's C ya

Switching between Scope/Ironsights
wipman replied to welcome to hell's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Hi, somewhere they said that every weapon will have it's own reload animation, so... will be possible that they would had made the GL sights to work properly this time; but have the M203 leaf sight rised all the time as we've it now on the ArmA, on the M16A2-M203 or the M16A4-M203 is simply stupid. It blocks the FOV and difficults very much to use the AR sights for shot to kill. In my M4's pack i had to fold down all the M203 leaf sights to allow a clear view of the assault riffle sights. So... if they don't animate properly the GL sights... i would suggest BIS to fold down the damn GLs sights for the good of all. Let's C ya -
Arma II Officially Better Looking Than Crysis?
wipman replied to walker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hi, for me yeah, the ArmA2 may look better than Crysis or at least i like much more it's shape than the crysis. But, im 300% sure of... is that the ArmA2 looks 1.000 times better than the OFP2, after watch this official OFP2 trailer: - OFP2 Offical Trailer. Seems clear that BIS are kings of the hill. Let's C ya -
Hi, just check the camo pattern scheme... look at any vehicle's dirts and you'll notice that the brown (on the yankee vehicles) is not the one that they use in the real life, same for the green; but that's not all, the thing it's that the pattern scheme it's too blured. That may be good for distant LODs for difficult their recognition on the distance; but at shorter distances... (like 1St to 4Th LOD) it looks bad or not as good as it could. Other thing that worries me and that i don't have any info on it, are the vehicle interiors, will the vehicles have 'em?, the tank drivers, the gunners or the commanders?; and what about the zoom?, will they have a small zoom? (the driver looking thru the hatch) to help to recognice possible hostiles in the tank's way?. The AI is not that good scanning for targets as commander or gunner, so a little help when we're driving the tanks, will be very handy if the AI keep acting in the same way when operating armoured vehicles. Hi, what i miss on the russian side, are: AK74M, SVU-AS and some other more modern sniper rifles like the AWM, for example. Let's C ya

Hi the XM-8 availability in MP games will depend on the mission maker; it's nice to have such uggly weapon in game, but i hope to not see it on the campaign. They could have made various H&K 416s and some ACOG sighted M14s and M1A1s Scout & SOCOM-II, but instead they seem to have chosen to don't be accurate on the weaponry that the main factions have. Let's C ya
-
Hi, the only thing that annoys me of the ground vehicles that i've seen from the ArmA2, it's how blured the camo pattern is, here it's an example on how clearly marked the dirts of the camo scheme are: AA7V. M1A1 Abrams. T-84 Oplot. M-998 HMMWV. As you can see, the camo pattern is not blured on the real ones, and what offers the concealment it's the tone (brightness) of the colours chosen; now... if you compare the real ones with what we've seen booth in the ArmA and ArmA2 images... it's clear that the ones in the game are not painted in a realistic way. This could had been improved; but now it's too late. Let's C ya

Hi, yeah Robert, i did, those are the ones that gave me those weird displaying and performance problems; not the v182.04, sorry. And i switched back to get everything to work as it should, to the v178.24, not to the v178.14, my mistake. Let's C ya

Hi, i've problems with the new NVidia drivers v182.04, they pixelate the ground and add a weird flicker to the ground at long distances (above 350m) doing the game running slow and loosing alot of FPS with a NVidia 8800GTS, those new drivers work bad with my video card on other games too, screwing up the textures and making the textures look as low resolution, on games like the Mass Effect or the über sucky COD5; the only solution that i did found... has been to switch back to the NVidia Drivers v178.14 and then, everything works and looks again as good as it was supposed to, not only on the Armed Assault, also on the other games. Let's C ya

Hi, i don't understand why they've made a WW-II M1911 A1 instead of some modern M1911 pistol, also i don't understand why they haven't made any modern russian pistol but a WW-II or Korea's war makarov, also i don't get why only M-1014 and the Shaika while we know that the russians use a Mossberg 590S look alike shotgun and most of the Marine units keep using the Remington R870 or the Mossberg 590S. Also i don't know why they've added a M-24A1 to the Marines, when they don't use it, they use the Remington M-40A1/A3; i don't know too why not RPK-74M or Pecheneg for the russians or why long barrel M249s for the Marines, and not ACOG sighted M240B. What they've called M14 DMR is what the whole world knows as: M14A1 (with a Leupold it's called: M14A1-DMR) instead make/add a M14-DMR and/or a M-21. Really, see all this it's very sad for me, i think that they could had made it better with the weaponry; i fear the worst. Let's C ya
