    Passangers firing from vehicle.

    Hi, back in the OFP times someone did a 5T truck where you could step on the back and walk by the cargo space, for take a passenger possition you was able to choose it and then get static where you'd chosen it, the thing was that that gave you a scripted virtual weapon with a number of bullets; it wasn't MP friendly because the desync that it had back in the day but was a hope that at least i keep since i bought the OFP on the 2001 and it's something neccessary on a grunts based game that pretends to be realistic; not being able to return fire from vehicles make 'em moving death traps with the only defense of the speed that dissapears as soon as you step out a good road as the off road speed is too slow for be used as defense. Shoot from the cargo possition of the vehicles (cars, trucks, APCs and choppers) will give us a bigger and better chance of survive aside of allow us to do entry raids SASR & SRT style for example; the only problem that i see with this is how it will work with the AI, would they be aimbots on a moving vehicle...? would they have a certain High Dispersion degree to avoid to have overpowered death charriots...?, how will the AI behave with this?; there could be a certain problem. Flaws of ARMA 2 - ARMA 3 Fixed?

    Hi, the other day i was playing a EVO on the ArmA2 on Cadet difficulty; i was inside a house far from the door or windows, behind 2m thick wall. My character began to report about NME contacts that were +100m away from me and completly outside my view as i was inside a house, shudently... i began to hear SVD shoots entering by the door that came from a Marksman that acording to my character's report was at 200m; checking the map i was able to see new contacts, on the move at like 200m and vehicles at +400m. I think that some of this can't be fixed (on the ArmA2) as it lays on the game's code and it's a central piece of the AI's heart, the things that make 'em move, shoot and react, but it's exagerated and unrealistic in therms of human awareness. I think that the AI will be better on the ArmA3 than on the ArmA2 aswell many other things, but we gonna see for sure some of the flaws and weird things that we can see some times on the ArmA2 because those things lay deep down on the basic game's code. Friendly Ai are worse shots that Enemy Ai

    Hi, the problem with the formations is that the AI at your command don't take dinamic formations; they only go in formation related to the direction that they were created. If the AI were created looking North, when you're looking East and order 'em to take the Column (Close) formation... they gonna be facing North, so if you're looking to the East... they all gonna be at your right, like in Line formation. So they may not be able of return fire effectively. Let's C ya
  4. Hi, i was not talking about the fan boys that spend their time sucking up to BIS, i was thinking more in those addon/mod makers that know about models and textures making aswell as mission making and "the thing behind the scene" that are the ones who can offer more for get a polished product for the public in less time; we're talking about a "commercial relationship" (even when this Beta Testers wouldn't win nothing, in economic therms) where BIS get a good help to reduce their job load on their side and the Beta Testers and consumers/players get better or good enough product on the release day, so everyone wins. There're people who could help to get a better product on the release day and they don't need to be friendly or warm and comfy with BIS... they just have to do their job as beta testers, for the game, not for BIS; BIS will win money with this and we'll win a better game in less time, everyone happy. Arma 3 Officially Announced!

    Hi, i don't come to look for sympathizers man, i just come to add something, this time was my honest opinion... and if few others think the same... then ok, if no one else... ok too; no matters. For those FNGs that say that "You know little 'bout ArmA" etc... i don't have nothing to say to 'em; i did more for the ArmA series than most of 'em, the proofs are there, go to Armedassault.info, to Armaholic.com or to OFPEC.com and download 'em. Weapons packs for the ArmA aswell as custom faces, that brought and kept players on this games series. About my own opinion that the campaign is previsible and that they gonna have to do more for surprise the new and actual players... seems that some games publications share the same opinion, so im not alone on this; but as i'd said... no matters. It's just an opinion... is as if you come talking about jessus, alah or buda and i tell you that they don't exist or that i don't belive on their existence; for proof that im wrong... you should come with physical proofs and not with a different opinion because the opinions of those who don't agree with me, weight the same = nothing. So is a good announcement but is more of the same. Let's C ya

    Arma 3 Officially Announced!

    Basicaly yes; and for worst in many aspects, the campaign is much better, but still a lone wolf thing. Look at the ArmA2 Aimpoint glass bug, there from day 1, same as the M1911 bugs, they had years to fix 'em but... they just didn't care; they gonna sell the same product (the best 1St person military sim) with the same mechanics but few real improvements. At least on the gameplay, and neither it gonna be user friendly... no Commands Refference Guide for do working SP & MP missions, complex ones, that simulate what's to be part of an army and not just fucking guerrilla; a Fire Team vs the world. My faith in BIS has die after buy the OA and uninstall it two weeks later, was just the same thing but worst. After read the announcement i just think that it gonna be more of the same in therms of gameplay in SP as in MP and the fan boys can go to hell because they're just that... silly fan boys cheering up for Jeff Gordon remembering his old victorys and forgetting that he don't wins nothing nowadays.

    Arma 3 Officially Announced!

    Hi, for the brief description from the announcement... seems that again, we gonna be damn lone wolves winning a war by ourselves, without air support, ground support, engineers etc etc; lone wolves. Is not that hard to understand... you gonna look at the Support tag on the radio and there gonna be nothing that request. So by the announcement (knowing BIS) i just can think that there won't be nothing more than graphic improvements and that's all, the same chick to dance with but with a different make up; still the same one. Arma 3 Officially Announced!

    Hi, where i don't see an improvement is on the history line, again win a war alone and unsupported... 11 years after the OFP's release and we're still playing the same campaign... i hope that the game have on the end something that marks the difference for real and not just cosmetic changes but same gameplay and basic mechanics. Hi, is true that you can't change the HDR/Glare/Bloom based on the equipment that you've; for do it you'll have to change the engine and fine tune the UV maps of every game's texture and even then... sure that there're plenty of times where it wouldn't change that much from what we already have. The HDR in it's present form unables you to play at certain times of the day (by hours) and doesn't affect the AI, so in MP on the ArmA2 you're totaly sold againist the AI at those times. The tinted colours could improve this but just a bit, it can't solve it at the 100%. Let's C ya

    Thoughts on using enemy uniforms

    Hi, wear an NME uniform is dangerous. You could find it "brand new" on a locker on some advandoned base... steal it from a civilian that bought it to an NME soldier... or who knows, you don't need to shoot at an NME or slash his/her throat to get his/her uniform, you can find those in many other ways and keep it, as equipment or just as a silly trophy. Hi, i think that the glasses should be functional too, i was just sugesting an easy and doable method for get it; and then wear or not tinted glasses could mark the difference on certain enviroments or times of the day. The problem that i see with the weapons is that there're not specific animations for each weapon aside that the character is always with the weapon raised on the shoulder and if you don't go arround with the Free Look and the weapon aiming down... then the weapon takes very much of the screen removing alot of awareness. But i don't know of an easy way of get rid of this, as capital animations as this ones can't be (IMO) made by gradual steps; because that will remove almost all the reaction time at the time to ADS, i think. Hey man, if you had fixed the Aimpoint's glass bug two years ago i would be so angry with you and the rest of BIS, and don't make me talk about the M1911...

    Hi, the problem with the FOV is that the ppl like me with 5:4 monitors will have a narrower FOV than a dude/chick wiz a 16:9 one so... he/she may be more aware than me in MP which means kill more; this can adjusted a bit but the ones with 16:9 monitors will have a little advantage on me because my hardware and that's not the BIS fault. The damn blur effecs... the blur is unrealistic and is bad in MP for everyone; the only time where you can get a little advantage of it, is if your CPU is not that big but your graphic card is; then you turn On the blur the game (the ArmA2 at least) will run better/faster as sends that working load from the CPU to the Graphic Card. But im againist the blur, is not realistic and is more a problem than a solution to anything; booth in MP as in SP. Simulate sun glasses...!? hell yeah man that we can do that; you do 'checker' that checks if you've X equipment (read: a 3D model, just as the weapons or the map) on your inventory and then if Yes... it tweaks the colour values of your screen to the glasses colour; it's easyer than kill a baby. The ArmA's animations are indeed a pain, some of 'em; for example... if you are crouched with an AT at your shoulder and you stand up... what the game does is: A) hold the AT and switch to the main weapon and stand up. B) once standing (inmovile, you can't move from this point) switch from the main weapon to the AT; all this standing unable to move to anywhere. Is worst with the side arm to binocs or to the LD... it cycles by all the weapons that you've before do what want (go prone or stand up) and you can't do nothing about it than observe a weird, stupid and deadly cycle of animations be performed on your screen by your character; if they kill you... you don't gonna go to hell until the whole animations end their absurd cycle. This is not my idea of "fluid", "realistic" and much less "good". And this goes againist the fun in MP because you've bigger chances to die without be able of do anything else than watch. Let's C ya

  16. Hi, i'll like to know if the next ArmA2 patch gonna fix bugs as: - The M1911 A1. - The M14-DMR grip. - The HMMWV AMBU lights. - The Aimpoint glass bug. Will be great to have all those or atleast the Aimpoint Glass Bug fixed. Let's C ya
  17. Hi, i don't see the need of pre-order to get access to the Closed Beta, i think that with sign a rational free agreement of cooperation with BIS will be enough; you could see something on the beta that don't makes you want to get the game, so the pre-order will be more a pain than anything, to ask for a refund and send back the retail copy for example. It could happen. The people who can do a real and almost proffesional Beta Testing sure that will sing the agreement with the eyes closed because they don't mind and want to make a good job for the good of the game, force 'em to pre-order is to me worst than sign a rational Beta Testing agreement. Hi, i think that the MP gonna be more of the same, few and most likely boring coops without realistic mechanics as CAS, MED-EVAC, ARTI, Engineers etc... to begin with; there wont be recovery vehicles to "repair" the disabled vehicles with some basic procedures as "plug your goose in this hole, sailor". It gonna rely on few basic so called games modes as the C&H or the über boring CTI, i don't see any will by BIS to change the things from the ArmA2 to the ArmA3 in therms of improve and enforce the coop missions making 'em more realistic; not a simply 'go there and kill every thing and then move to the other place and do the same'. I think that the MP gonna be basically the same as in the ArmA2; basic, repetitive, few interesting and not reflecting war like combat missions, with support and effectives. I also think that the island will be dead or empty, if you want. I don't spect changes. Let's C ya

    Ragdolls = In .... Realistic wounds ???

    Hi, @Metalcraze: The default FOV on the ArmA2 is in fact zoomed In, not out; there's a key to zoom out that i've to press always that i enter on a urban or closer enviroment for have a wider FOV with my 19" 5:4 monitor. Let's C ya

    Friendly Ai are worse shots that Enemy Ai

    Hi, on the close combat the friendly AI seem to be less effective than the NME AIs by their own, but that's because you are not giving 'em orders constantly to tell 'em what to do; with the proper (and constant) orders the friendly AIs are exactly as good in everything as the NME AI. The problem is that you can't manage every unit as fast as the AI; but remember that every chained order won't be done by the AI until the voice for it has been heard. You can check this last part easy by entering in a chopper and ordering your AI gunner to switch weapons, no matter how fast you press the imput that nothing will happen until the AI has passed by all the chained orders, as order the gunner to switch from Hellfires to Cannon again on a AH1-Z in example.
