    Possible attack on heathrow

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">The lsw looks just like an sa80 with extended barrel and bipod and a few titbits.<span id='postcolor'> Thats because it is. But that does give it surprising amount of extra range, and accuracy.

    Possible attack on heathrow

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Well we would usually try to use helis as well, we have a few police ones but the RAF is too stretched out at the moment and the Army air corps pilots don't know how to get in a helicopter let alone fly on.....and of course they are on ships heading to the gulf.<span id='postcolor'> The army air corps operates the vast majority of the "light" Helicopters that the UK Armed Forces possess, all those Lynxs, Gazelles that would actually be of use in a situation like this. Also the AAC consists of 7 regiments and 5 "independent flights". Only one regiment is going to Iraq (3rd Regiment Army Air Corps). So there are plenty still around. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">But honestly i'm not much of a gun person and for some reason it just looks odd to see the police with MP5s and then a soldier with a LSW! I doubt it's clever to use one of those things in a crowded airport.<span id='postcolor'> Now, if you are such a gun person you should know thats the job the LSW is designed for. it is a superb weapon for use in a built-up enviroment where accuracy and range are key. its in the "fire support" role that it struggles. and you'd not want someone laying down supressing fire in a crowded airport now would you.

    Possible attack on heathrow

I don't think that they have any APC's at Heathrow ... the Armoured Vehicles are Scimitar Armoured Recconaissance Vehicles (Scimitar CVR(T)). And i would be very surprised if they "left" them anywhere a Rocket Toting Terrorist could get at them (the RPG not being the easiest weapon in the work to conceal). The Danger does come from terrorists with SAMs around the airport .. but they have changed the flighpath for the jets coming into Heathrow (its oddly quiet around here without them)

    Possible attack on heathrow

Well for one thing they aren't "tanks" per se. they are Scimitar Recconaissance Vehicles from the HCR so maybe they are a little more useful for sitting and watching for stuff. And as for "scrubland" they have closed down Windsor Great Park (about 2 mins from where i live) and the place is absolutely crawling with police (not just Thames Valley, who are the local force ... i've seen Metropolitan and Surrey police). They have vans or patrol cars on every major junction, loads of Foot Patrols in town and they mounted Vehicle Checkpoints by all the motorway junctions round here. Also there are more Armed police than i have ever seen before. The army deploying to Heathrow isn't a "new" thing either ... its one of the reasons they are kept at windsor .. i think they did it pretty regularly during the 80s/90s when PIRA made threats against the airport.

    Space shuttle columbia lost

Uh oh. NASA was afraid this one might be a Terrorist target as well (because of the Isreali astronaught) .. but surely you can't target something at 200,000 ft? .. this has to be an accident.

    Civil war mod?

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">COMPANY. The basic unit is the company, commanded by a captain  100 men = 2 platoons = 4 sections = 8 squads A company has the following officers (commissioned and non-coms):  Captain (1), 1st. Lieut. (1),  2nd. Lieut. (1)  1st Sgt. (1), Sgts. (4) and Corporals (8). When the company was divided into platoons, the captain commanded one and the 1st Lt. the other.  There was a sergeant for each section, and a corporal for each squad.  The 1st Sgt. "ran" the whole company. BATTALION and REGIMENT.  Battalions and regiments were formed by organizing companies together. In the volunteers (Union and Confederate), 10 companies would be organized together into a regiment.  The regiment was commanded by a colonel. A regiment has the following staff (one of each):  Col.; Lt. Col.; Major; Adjutant (1st Lt); Surgeon (maj.);  Asst Surgeon (capt.); Quartermaster (lieut); Commissary (lieut);  Sgt-Major; Quartermaster Sgt. There were also volunteer organizations containing less than 10 companies: if they contained from 4-8 companies, they were called battalions, and usually were commanded by a major or lieutenant colonel.  The (Union) Regular regts organized before the war (1st-10th) were 10 company regiments like the volunteers.  When the NEW Regular regts. were authorized, a different organization was used. The new Regular regts were organized 8 companies to a battalion and 2 battalions to the regiment. Thus new Regular regts contained 16 companies.  These regiments frequently fought as battalions rather than as single regiments.  However, often the 2nd battalion could not be recruited up to strength, in which case they fought as a single regiment. <span id='postcolor'> By the end of the war the average size of a *battalion* was around 300-400 men

    SA-80 released! It's great, trust me ;)

was the AR-180 not based on the FN-FAL .. the British army used a version of the FAL (called the SLR) before they adopted the SA-80. a non-bullpup sa80 wouldn't make a lot of sense...

Our jobs, families and school duties (read: a lack of time), lack of motivation, OFP's engine restrictions, earlier - lack of tools, and almost no collaboration betweet team members - all these factors forced us to cancel works on LWP MOD. You can be sure that you'll never receive this MOD in the shape we designed it earlier. It's simply impossible. Feel free to post any comments, ideas how to reanimate the MOD, or just complains on our Forum. PS.: I'll release Mi-2 as stand-alone add-on later (it's still not completed). Airwolf <span id='postcolor'> The chaps email is on the site if anyone wants to send pleading emails
