    X-Cam 1.0 for Arma 3 released

    Damn, these prefabs are awesome! :D Good work, guys! Silola, I have one question about the xcam_EU.pbo. Is this available somewhere to download separately or is it only included in the xCam-package? I'm making a mission with the hidden editor objects and I don't want the player to download and install the whole xCam system (or AiA, which I don't need). Is it possible (resp. allowed) to include the xCam_EU.pbo (+ the bisign file) as @xCam_EU folder in my mission package? (Sorry if this question was already asked or answered.)

  7. BohemiaBeck, some points I observed (not sure if they were reported already): 1. When following a link to a thread, the thread is shown for a short moment, then I'm redirected to https://forums.bistudio.com/index.php? As far as I noticed, it occours, when: - I'm logged in - When there are no other forum pages open in other tabs in my browser. Not sure if that helps.... 2. The mobile version is a blessing, as on smartphones (at least on mine) the forum font is too small. But it is often useless because there is no "Last page" or "First page" selection in the threads. Only "Next" and "Previous" page, which obviously doesn't make any sense in threads with 80 pages... 3. I'm not sure if it's my fresh installed browser or not, but as I typed this text here, I went to another page and all text was lost. :( Could it be that in the new forum there is no warning that the browser is leaving the page? Or is this not related to the forum software? At least I was warned ealier.

  9. Guys, thanks a lot for your comments. :) MUCH appreciated! I was on holiday but returned today. Tourist, I have to say, that the campaign is, in some aspects, a bit limited because of the MANW contest conditions and especially its short time frame. I don't think I will implement many new things in this first chapter, as I started working on chapter 2 some weeks ago (it seems that the burnout I had got better :) ). But in general I don't have much time due to work and I also began a second project and I'm waiting and really looking forward for the CUP team to convert more stuff from Arma 2 so I can convert Black Lands to A3 and improve it, and there's the Arma 3 expansion coming in next, and I always wanted to make a WW2 campaign (the holiday was in Normandy and damn... I really got hooked on that subject now! :D )... Well, so many ideas for too less time, but let's see what I can do. No matter what, it will take long though. Regarding Dying Ember (the first chapter): I hope that I could fix (or at least improve) the weapon and equipment persistance feature, which was kind of bugged (missing gear especially in the briefings of the missions where it should be, etc.). --> If anyone could give me feedback on that, it would be much appreciated. Just tell me if you noted something, if there were guns, ammo, etc. missing where it shouldn't - or if everything was there as expected. THANKS!

    They probably can improve it, yes, but I really hope they can fix the links again, as this is the biggest PITA in my opinion.

  13. Hello everyone. As many players (me included) experienced that nasty weapon pool persistance bug, I tried to tweak the corresponding scripts so that hopefully it won't appear again. But I never could reproduce this bug which is why I'm not sure if it definitely was fixed... I'd highly appreciate more feedback on this matter. So if you have everything you collected, give me a shout - if something's missing, give me a shout too. Thanks for playing!! :) The download links are in the first post.
  14. Wow, fantastic work, IP! I always wanted to use these anims! :) One question though. The package is quite large with 255 mb. Does the player have to download it as well, if I use it in my missions?

  16. Yes, I pressed revert, as AFAIK "Replay" does only repeat this single mission of the campaign and then return the player back to the menu. Does it really continue with the next mission after having "Replayed" it? That would be nice. :)

CAMPAIGN MENU: - There are no overview texts in campaign menu MISSION 1: Briefing: - While loading the first mission, this error popped up: Btw., do you edit / testplay with the game parameter -showScriptErrors enabled? If not - you should do it. It shows a lot. See info here: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Startup_Parameters Intro: - Another script error at the end of the intro. - Use fadeSound at the end of the intro to fade out the sound before ending the cutscene. It's "ugly" otherwise. :) Mission: - Nice atmosphere - Maybe send a fireteam as reinforcements to the harbour, if the player kills soldiers there. Other than that everything is there: Patrols, flares, vehicles, choppers, dead civilians :D . Cool stuff! - Fade black at the and and fadeSound would improve the mission's end Debriefing: - Everything seems fine here - objective was set to green, good job. :) MISSION 2: Briefing: - Again, script errors at mission start - "As soon as i've found him" - Throughout the campaign you write I with an i (which, if I'm not mistaken is a spelling error :p ). But nevermind, I didn't find anything else. Mission: - A script error in a loop (something with friend and then hideout, if I remember correctly) accompanied me the whole mission. :D - I had another boat than the one I stole at the harbour. Stole the civilian boat. I know you're saving stuff from one to the next mission (was glad to have my equipment), maybe you could save the boat too. - As I disembarked at the beach, I suddelny flew up 20 meters and died crushing on the ground. Not sure if this was an Arma bug as I never experienced this. Didn't happen again though. - Nice idea with the other boat! Tenseful! - Something I don't like at all but see over and over again in campaigns is that the author throws us back to the main menu, when the mission is failed, which means we can start the WHOLE mission over again. What I would suggest is to start a camera script showing the island from a high position (or the player or the dead buddy) and to make this "cutscene" endless, so that the player doesn't have another option but to load his last saved game. Maybe with a text showing up, like "Mike was killed, mission failed. Load your last saved game", or something like that. - If you want, you can use TitleText ["Text","plain down"]; for the dialogues and thoughts of the player. It shows the text on the bottom of the screen, not in the middle of it. - After "We have to kill them all" there came no task. I killed all enemies I could find, but nothing happened. Then I took a boat and headed south, but nothing happened. This part was a bit unclear, thus I finished the mission using a cheat. Good job so far! If you'd spend more work and time on it, improving these things and fixing the script errors, it would become a solid campaign! I really liked it so far. Hope I can continue soon. Edit: Oh and... coming back to our earlier topic: I was wounded in mission 2. I now would expect to start wounded in mission 3 as well. ;)

I had the same problem, this is why I asked. :) There's that great command here: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/canStand You can make a while-do script that checks if the unit can't stand and then removes a little amount of damage (e.g. 0.1) everytime the loop finishes, until canStand becomes true. The result is that the unit is injured but can walk (which prevents him from messing up the mission). I have this in code form, but I'm not home atm, will get back to you later.
