    Thanks for pointing this out FALBronco. I will check this once home today (in 12hrs) and report back. I was told that the armor1_co texture is not used by the models anyway, but in case it is, I will correct this and reupload. As for your variety question - it all comes down to the configuration file. Someone smarter that me in this area (lots of people here are) will probably know. PS: I believe the Italian SOF units have been released along with an example .cfg file to learn from.

    @Soronelite Just as Davids has pointed out, the Kegety's plugin is already old. I for myself have no trouble using it with my old copy of CS2 (absolutely sufficent for ArmA modding purposes), but it has been confirmed that troubles using it started with CS4 already: http://www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&id=95269 On a sidenote; no need to thank - it's the least I could do. I'm not good at explaining things and do my stuff mostly by intuiton, with no rules restricting creativity, so you probably won't see any tutorials from me anytime soon... Maybe it's not the most pedagogical approach to give the man a fish instead of fishing rod, but even with the fish alone you still can make wonders and new dishes, isn't it? ;))

    I should probably just add, from recent experience, that the shoulder area of the models stretches insanely... Attempting to put a national flag patch were it supposed to be in RL, on the pocket, may have awful effects... http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/3912/flagp.jpg Hence my choice to put on the plate carrier, at least it won't get distorted there. And another thing for anyone who did not look at the A3 textures yet; there's UV for one arm only, so anything written you put on there will end up being mirorred. Beware. Topas over & out ;)

  7. Vilas does not have the Alpha yet - before he posted this thread I took the liberty of checking if his addons also do work / appear in-game after a straigh copy/paste procedure. Unfortunately it's not the case with majority of his works, due to config differences, but at least some of the vehicles do:

    One thing that yet came to my mind. Whiel testing yesterday I checked out the civilian pickup model (btw. nice blend of an Audi Q7 with a fictional load bed) and noticed that each time I reload the mission I get a differently textured car. It was ecru, dark grey with some floral design on the back, then vivid orange. Any word on this being a new feature; random loading of different versions - or will we get to choose the colours and such for ourselves via editor, like it was with previous BI games? Not that it's bugging me really, just it's something new
  11. Maybe in the 2030's it's not anymore? Just saying. BIS granted themselves some artistic freedom with placing the game in the future. ;)
  12. While it has also caught my attention (first I thought it was my graphic settings) it's something that can be fairly easily / and probably will be fixed, addressed. Basically, it's just the satmask having low detail, maybe they have decided that the alpha will focus on highlighting different aspects and have for now put a WIP satmask that is still being worked on?

    Arma 3 first impressions

    While I still had not enough time to test everything in the Alpha, the 2hrs spent on it yesterday were a very positive experience. The visual upgrades are very welcome and are not too stressing for my rig (autodetect wanted to set everything on low.. but by tweaking each aspect separately I managed to pretty much max out everything without influencing the smooth performance). One or two small things I noticed in by brief testing session: - it takes some time (too long) for the player to get hurt by fire - I literally stood on top of a burning car wreck and only after some 5 seconds the first aid icon popped up - shooting someone in the face from a pistol at point blank range does not kill him... he twitches / bends, some blood stains/injuries appear but he's ok. Took me three shots to kill. (not aiming for the helmet, neck, straight between the eyes) - AI drivers won't cross bridges - sometimes it's possible to get stuck (infantry, vehicle) in a middle of a wall (wrong geometry) - concrete canal/ditch in the middle of the main village That should be all for now. The overal experience is, like I said, very positive. Like the little touches like yawning, forehead scratching and other animations implemented (the new character models are impressive), driving experience has changed in a positive way (only that tyre squeeking gets annoying after some time, especially when you're on tarmac or completely off-road ;) Keep it up Bohemia, thank you.
  14. Yes. This was just out of curiosity, a test. And with positive results as one can see above. Addons appear ingame without a problem, just after copying / pasting into the A3 addon folder. The functionalities are limited - you cannot access every position in the vehicle (in tanks it is possible, cars are non enterable). RVMATS tend to behave strangly in certain weather conditions, etc. But, in general it's a good sign after all.

  16. Brilliant! I was thinking about implementing this kind of camouflage in our mod too many times already (vehicles, artillery, fortifications, even for use on helmet covers). This looks like a dream coming true! :D
  17. Thanks for the reply. I look forward to seeing the previous progress reports once the forums are up again. I have asked the question because - as already mentioned - I'm working on a 1939 mod, where a R71 would fit perfectly. Waxbutter did gave me permission to use the i44 bike, but it's a R75 which does not fit early WW2 months. So it's pretty much useles for us. I do have mlods of both the R71 and an even more fitting R12 that I'd really like to use once being given permission from the original author.   18. Good luck. Looks like a decent start. Do you plan on making it available for ArmA2 as well? I do have an MG-34 that'd look good mounted on this one and a whole mod it would fit nicely into :P Seriously though, is it scratch-made by you or? I read about renaming/recreating/reconverting, and I'm a bit confused as to it. Thx

Even if I seem to have a fixed opinion on the matter it 1) does not belong here, 2) it's an official national remembrance day, isn't it, so...
  20. It's just a test. Frankly, I messed up big time yesterday as the slogan should not be inlcuded in the bumpmap... It of course will not in the final version. I will make a texture pack with similar slogans that you can see on historical photos from the campaign and they will be added as a hidden selection to appear randomly; Here are just some examples of what was written in chalk on the German LKWs and other vehicles during the Polish campaign. eidt; Thanks LODU and Lennard :icon_redface:
