When I load this mission, ArmA says: Cannot open object vilas_rfn\bundesman2.p3d What I do wrong or will this need some vilas addon???

Better performance is must. I think there is much left, which could be optimized. AI should be much better too. These are most important things at now. Content from VBS2 would be great thing, especially new tracers. Why not? They are ready there. Why not put them to ArmA? I have understood that BIS have full rights both ArmA and VBS2... Am I wrong???

I found this pic at ArmA Combat Operations site in randomly changing combat photography box: SU-27 So, is someone making the addon or is this BIS surprise in next publish/patch? PS. I tried to search BIS forum and checked few addon site. EDIT: Ok, I found another pic. It's export version os SU-27, SU-30MK. But it definitely is not Arma's standard SU-34. SU-30MK

I mean the point where tanks are firing anti-air against attacking A-10s. At closeups they look very same. Ok, can't say sure. Maybe they look much shorter in slow-mo. Must wait next patch and see if we have any changes to old...

I assume this video is made from some beta US version of ArmA, because of those A-10s. But has anyone noticed those beautiful tracers? No more laser-like-tracers???

I have never flying real chopper, but flightmodel in arma feels very realistic. Please, don't destroy it by sipmlifing it. We have enough Bf's for them who want play a warGAME.

What we really need to ArmA is mines. Ok, there is one antitank-mine, but I mean against infantry also. Mines are very remarkable weapons in war and there are many kinds of them. We need claymores, scatterable mines, something pipebomb attached to height of torso (attachable to tree or wall for example), jumping mines, etc. List is allmost endless. At last I get it working. Solution for crash to desktop problems!!! I had strange problem. When I played a while, every 2D-graphics get very long loading time. When I go to map, gear change screen, death screen, loading screens or anywhere was 2D-graphics, graphics went big pixels and ArmA slowered totally. Also very often models and textures went to very low detail. Sometimes helped long wait, sometimes not. Very often ArmA also crashed to desktop. This situation was on both demo and full version. Full version was much worse. I dropped texture detail from very high to normal and problem was gone. No crashes anymore. I have not tested high texture detail yet. So if you have similar problems or crashes to desktop, try this. It helped me. My hardware is: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 ASRock 775VSTA-DUAL 1024 DDR RAM @ 400Mhz dual channel Asus X1950 Pro 256 PCI-E Windows XP SP2 ATI catalyst 7.1 DirectX 9.0c December -
Actually it is version 1.03, full czech and german versions are 1.02. I have found that ArmA is much stable in some computers and crashing all the time in others... I really hope BIS uses all of their resources to fix ArmA, otherwise it will be totally wasted in the means of business.

Was playing demo-CTI mission. I can't get point why demo was released. Bugs makes it complete unplayable. I mean CTI. There is so much bugs that I can't stand say anything of them. Many bugs also in another missions. Hope things get changed before 505-publishing, but this will give very bad PR for ArmA.

My ArmA is crashing all the time. I can play 30 sec and then it crashes. Goes to windows and gives microsoft error reporting. Sometimes I can play much longer. Maybe 30 mins before crash. Another problems is sometime when I go to some another screen ArmA stops responding. For example when I go to gear list, map or loading screen. It just stops doing anything. I must to go windows and kill arma.exe process. Sometimes map goes extremely slow also. Update: Arma does this very often too: When I die, screen fades black and it doesn't come back. I hear sounds but nothing more happens. I can alt-tab to windows, but if I go back to Arma screen doesn't update. It shows same windows screen. So I can't do anything but close Arma.exe-process. Maybe these things have something to do with my ATI. Driver is newest one 6.12 without catalyst.

There is coolest sounds, that I ever heard in the game, in the Steel Beasts. Here are some examples: There are also excellent doppler effects in Steel Beasts. Sorry, but I can't found any videos, where it could be heard. Anyway, nothing can't beat the sound of fly by ammo of 120mm cannon in Steel Beasts. That's where we really need doppler-effect. Other effects of SB are also excellent and very realistic like grenade impacts. EDIT: Found another video where you can hear doppler-effect when several tanks are moving varying speeds at very end of video, about 6:56.

I have watched numerous videos and screenshots of ArmA and I just realized, there is only men in the game. There is many women in today's battlefield (Actually, was in WWII, too). That would be realistic improvement to Arma and in the plus side, it could bring some ladies in the game.

Actually in some countries there is also childsoldiers, sadly. But why games are so conservative? Why war should be pretty in the game, it is not pretty IRL. Look some warmovies, they are not pretty to watch if they are realistic.

Yeah, that sucks. But because of view distance, human player choppers have not surprise moment. Only AI can kill from long distances. Both situation have positive and negative sides. I hope there could be some compromise... Or must wait so long that we have fast enough computer, so we can set view distance for 10000 meters.

Well it isn't actually that realistic. You cannot see through mist/fog with a pair of binoculars. Binoculars/scopes only allow magnify what is already visible even if it isn't recognizable. Incidently and a little off-topic, the magnification on weapon mounted scopes or binoculars isn't even as good as most people think it is. I blame the movies for the perception that the face of a person standing a kilometre away will fill the field of view. Actually view distance in the game doesn't simulate fog, but it is technical limitation of game, maximum distance where game draws objects. In OFP, if view distance is set for 1200m, for example, you cannot see longer at all, even if you are looking through hubble telescope. That's realistic, huh? I don't mean only scopes/binocular, but also vehicle optics. For example from Apache or Kiowa you can clearly see apple in the tree at much longer distance than you can recognise elephant with naked eye...
