Then again, a matter of point of view. If 'Insanity' is not the right word to define the mass-murders and genocides under Hitler's government then how would you 'personally' call it? Regards, TB

Thanks for the informations and pictures, it's true that it's hard like hell to grab US SF photos in eighties, but as they almost used the same equipment than US Army regular troops, I will just modifie their Arm patches and give them Boonies instead of Helmets, maybe equip them with backpacks as well, if you have any information regarding the sort of backpacks used before '85 by the US Army then it would be really helpful. Thanks in advance. Regarding the patch progress: + Included a retex (Olive Grab) Hemmt. (Thanks to Vektorbosen). + Included the "M2A1 Bradley [Olive Grab]" instead of the M2A2. + Replaced BIS Malden textures by Symbiot 1024x1024 'High-Quality' textures, with no framerate hit at all. Please correct me if I'm wrong but if there are "communist parties", doesn't it logically mean that "communism" does consequently exist? It's not necessary related to a concept of large-scale communism, though. regards, TB
-
True, this will be fixed with the incoming patch as well, thank you for the contribution. Regards, TB
-
The lack of details regarding the term "communism" makes me feel the need to advice you to throw your dictionnary to the sea, as "communism" from a lexical-meaning viewpoint can't just be limited to "class-less and stateless society". A matter of label, as communism is the major branch of socialism, according to Marx, under communism, the government disappears to install an economic cooperation, the principle of distribution becomes an equation : From each according his/her ability to each according to his/her need. Isn't that what has been instaured by USSR and Cuba? - then communism existed and still exists. Regards, TB
-
There is no need to provide any kind of thesis for such a little statement, as the aim was not to spread the history of communism since there are a huge amount of different descriptions related to the theme in question. But as communism was used to specify the concerned political system, therefore it has existed and still exists. regards, TB

Thanks, glad you appreciate the new SFX system. Well seen, thanks for the report. This is not that annoying, but I added it to the bugs list as well, thanks. I find the M21 SFX rather well, and I bet I'm not the only one to be thinking the same thing. However, the M21 ironsight has been improved a lot (Looks smoother now). Edit: And good news, Sanctuary has successfully figured out the "Invalid Crew" issue that usually occurs with "Ground Attack II" mission and fixed it. Regards, TB

A matter of point of view. But as "communism" is used by a large majority of "legitimate sources" to clearly qualify a 'specific' political system, therefore the word 'communism' is kind of valid to be used in the ongoing context. Consequently, communism existed and still exists. Regards, TB

AEC Islands Pack I will fix the link on the FFUR website ASAP. Regarding the bug fixes, here is a list of what has been done so far: + Decreased the size of the grass by 72% = [better visual field, More realistic Grass]. + Disabled a large part of AI maneuvers = [Missions are more stable + Less framerate Hit] (Special thanks to Solus). + Fixed the CWC'85 First Mission's bug when the truck was stopped by trees. + Fixed the 4th Mission (As the blackhawk was unable to fly over troops before being shot by the Hind). + Fixed SpetsNatz Soldiers hands. + Fixed the gear of the MIG-21, now it retracts rather well. + The USSR Repair truck is no more listed as Ammo. + Fixed the radar on the Shilka. + The Mig-21 is more "player friendly" in terms of manoeuvrability. + Put back the crosshairs. + Included a new Ironsight for the RPD. + Fixed the RPK-74 firing mode (Now Uses Full Auto Mode as well). + Fixed the annoying error messages : "Error alive: TypeArray, expected Object!" . + Renamed the M60A2 to A3 as the A2 carries missiles. + For the Cobra it says Hellfire, although it should fire TOW. + Renamed the Su-22 to Su-17M4 and the ZSU-23-4 to ZSU-23-4M3. With Sanctuary's support, we are working like crazy to figure out the "invalid crew" issue, and hope to fix it soon. Vektorbosen is doing an amazing work on his own and we hope to see his great US Models released soon. Regarding the sounds issue, here I recorded a little movie showing a firefight (1st Mission of Retaliation Campaign) with the new SFX (You can also spot the M16 and M60 at the end), your opinion would be greatly appreciated for further enhancements. [*]Increased the Supersonic Crack SFX level (Inspired by FAMM MOD 1.41 for ArmA). [*]New SFX for the most used firearms (AK-74, M16A2, M60). <span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>Video</span> Regards, TB

Thanks for the pictures NoRailGunner, but pushing my luck slightly far, would there be any chance to get photos related more to the eightees? Regarding the patch, almost all bugs are fixed except the "Invalid Crew" one which occurs with the Mission Ground Attack II, but with Sanctuary's support, we are trying to figure out its source in order to fix it. Thank you all for your support and kind words, Regards, TB

1 - Sure, just get a look at the SLX thread. (Version 1.1). 2 - Yes, check out "SLX_GL3_Settings.sqf" file in \@ffsx85\ folder, every line is commented so it should not cause a problem to figure out the wanted line. The BlackOPs would not be replaced by Special Forces as they will only be additional, the "BlackOP (Day)" might get the BDU dress, though. Thank you for the informations but it would be more helpful to get pictures regarding the request. ;] Regards, TB
-
The only way to fix this "Triggers issue" is to disable SLX maneuvers and that's what is actually being done (With Solus support). I'm really interested in editing the current US soldiers models in order to include new SF troops within the MOD. But I need some help in finding a bunch of helpful pictures showing US Special Forces in '85. Thanks in advance. Regards, TB

Hi, Universal: Thanks for providing such a long list of suggestions, I do really appreciate the efforts spent in making it but a major part of the suggested elements can't be done due to the lack of time, as I'm getting the slight impression you understimate the necessary time to: - Study an "Addon" before implementing it = [Make sure it fits with the theme and fits with the rest of Models] - Make sure it is ODOL, or carry out some minor changes if it is a MLOD [Check out some necessary selections in order to make sure the model works fine] - Convert the .p3d textures paths. - Establish the addon's cfg within FFUR main config and carry out a huge amount of adjustments. - Get over the annoying bugs that usually pop up. Imagine that for every included addon. My decision is simple: - Excluding what has been stated in my last post, I will randomly choose some models since the main focus goes to bugs hunting. Regards, TB

Thanks for providing further details. Regards, TB

Universal: Thanks for the efforts spent in carrying out such long lists of suggestions but a part of propositions can't be taken into account since there are no existing models of the concerned gear. Therefore, please could you post a link of every addon, or at least, systematically state whether the model exists or not and whether it fits with the rest of models. I'm sure that would be more helpful. ;] Please, could you post the 'error messages' you encountred in order to make it easy to directly reach the source of the bug. Thank you. Sure. Regards, TB

Hi, The white textures bug some people do sometimes encounter are due to the way you chose to install the "extra files" when you run the launcher, as you have to choose between direct3D and HWTL, (Option 1 or 2). As stated in the first post, to fix this issue you should open Program files\OperationFlashpoint\@ffsx85\Dta\ folder and Delete Data.pbo/ Data3D.pbo (if they exist) or simply the HWTL folder. And run again the launcher then choose another option you haven't previously taken into account. ----------------------------------------------- Here is the report of bugs/suggestions intended to make the mod more enjoyable with an upcoming patch: Your support in completing the report of bugs/suggestions for the incoming patch would be greatly appreciated Thank you. Regards, TB

Negative, they weren't that common in the soviet army in '85. Yes, but they have BIS heads instead of Llauma ones. (You could have checked out the 'readme' file before asking). Regards, TB
-
Hi, First, thanks for the amount of suggestions, they will all be taken into consideration and "studied" for further implementation. As some of you alread know, Vektorbosen is working on a realistic selection of armored vehicles that fit perfectly with the theme and that would be hopefully incorporated within the MOD as things are getting nicely so far. Regarding the soviet side, some adjustements suggested by the russian community of Flashpoint.ru boards would be taken into account as well, in order to reinforce the realism and therefore make the MOD more enjoyable for everyone. Best Regards, TB

Not being the Leader of that MOD, I'm afraid I don't have the direct "command" to carry out a MOD like FFUR for ArmA. But with the "agreement" of other members, I hope we will follow a quite similar way: (Model Replacements; Scripted Features; Sounds Effects). Regards, TB
-
Hi, Thanks for the report of bugs and suggestions, they will all be taken into consideration in order to improve the MOD and make it more enjoyable. Here I regrouped some of the reported bugs, if you have more to add, feel free to post'em below: These words have no "stringtable.csv" since they are direcly set via scripts, I'm afraid we would have to exclusively keep'em in english. Regards TB
-
Cheers for the nice words. No way to encounter such an error with a clean and patched version. Clean = With no 'extra addons', since the whole configuration is no more the same than the default game. Regards, TB
-
Thanks for the feedbacks and reports of bugs. Some enhancements in terms of sounds would hopefully be carried out as well, for those who usually follow ArmA releases, expect to see the popular FFAM 1.4 Firearms SFX within the incoming patch (With Fromz permission). Used it as well, and got the chance to fire more than 3 rockets at different ranges since LRACs were a part of the standard equipment within the P4 and the AUF-1. A little photo here SLX values are realistic since the wind does really affect the rockets trajectory. Regards, TB

As Blazin stated, You completely seem to misunderstand what the MOD is about and how it has been designed as well as its 'wanted objectives' since you seem to consider it as "a gross compilation" of community's addons/scripts , maybe just check out the readme files put in several parts in the first post of this thread if you don't want to bother yourself with downloading the MOD and giving it a little try. Yes, this is kind of random and I encountred the same issue the first time I have played it but the second time it worked without a problem. Thanks but it's all written here and there by people like Sanctuary, General Barron, Pappy Boyington (y2k3)... Thanks for the reports, they will be fixed with the incoming patch. - The squad's leader is the only man who can call for Artillery Support. - Keep on playing the MOD to notice crew members burning after having their tanks being seriously damaged. Slightly decrease the "FPS-meter" in your options menu. Regards, TB

Indeed, the major performance hit is due to - SLX AI Modifications -, this is not noticeable with "Dual Core Processors" at all, but olders systems might encounter some troubles. Here I put a little patch which should make the MOD more enjoyable for "Low systems": "Dual Core" processors don't need it, though. ------------------------------------------- Download ------------------------------------------- -Simply extract the folder '@ffsx85' to your OperationFlashpoint Main folder and overwrite the previous files. ------------------------------------------- What's new? : - Disabled SLX Features for Infantry Troops, therefore, the performance is much better. ------------------------------------------- Best Regards, TB

Sure, any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated: - Simple: Open \@ffur85\Bin\stringtable.csv - Edit it with Excel - The Italian part is the C column Mirror - (OFP.info) Thanks to Cervo. Regards, TB
