Nobody, with the exception of Saddam and some of his most trusted henchmen, knows if Iraq has WMDs. Unless you are one of these people, don't make assumptions about the possibility of WMDs . Well, he's already said he didn't have any WMDs. He said this before the war. His henchmen said it, and the weapons inspectors didn't find anything except some old relics of his past programs. So I suppose we should just take Bush's word for it since he's God's representative here on Earth? Faith-based intelligence. Halliburton was just caught overcharging US taxpayers for oil by almost $2 per gallon. Prior to this, Worldcom was caught overcharging for cell phones, charging a whopping $4,000 per phone! Now tell me Bush doesn't have any alterior motives giving contracts to his corporate buddies, in this plunder of Iraq and American taxpayers. On top of it, he's made himself out to look like some kind of hero. I might change my mind if you could at least prove that Saddam had any intention of attacking America in the first place. When has he ever attacked America? America's Corporate Mafia

Removing action when a distance away..
toadeater replied to MrZig's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
How about: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> #loop @(_med distance _man < 3) ?(Alive _med) && (getDammage _man >=.1) : heal = Â _man addAction ["Heal at medkit","medkit.sqs"] @(getDammage _man <=.1 OR (!Alive _med) OR (_med distance _man > 3) _man removeaction heal goto "loop" -
The skies are taking longer than I had hoped, so here's an update. I got the gray versions 98% done after trying a bunch of different styles, and I'm working on the rain effect and the floating clouds. After that it I'll add blue-tinted versions. Updated stormy sky:

Bush is going to get caught one of these days, his family and corporate allies have committed too many crimes to hide indefinitely. It may be in 2004, it may be years from now, but eventually the truth will come out and heads are going to roll. Maybe Saddam can help, especially if he reveals any info about 9/11 and the phony WMD claims during his trial. Who knows what else he may reveal? I'm sure Fox News will claim its all just propaganda. Too bad most of these "conspiricies" are known fact, Americans just refuse to accept the truth, that their country has been hijacked by crooks. Merry Christmas!

Oh god dammit, you mentioned everything already. I could mention some others I heard were supposedly good but never played multiplayer, like Neverwinter Nights if you like RPGs and Combat Mission 2 and Afrika Corps if you like hardcore wargames. Maybe IL-2 Sturmovik and other flight sims? What about strategy games? Medieval: Total War was good for quick battles. Anyway, OFP is good, if you have a good group of people playing who take it seriously and cooperate.

Any screenshots of whatever this is?

I believe it was a "60 Minutes" report I was watching last night about the Iraqi morgues being filled up with the almost one million bodies, that are being dug up from mass graves around Iraq, including those that had highways paved over them. Plenty of those shown were shot in the head or beaten or tortured to death. Maybe too many Iraqis were interested in politics. They should have listened to you. I'll believe it when I see it. They used to say the same thing about Kosovo, they said similar about Afghanistan, they still haven't produced the evidence.

6880p in benchmark but still it feels choppy?
toadeater replied to -=anders=-'s topic in TROUBLESHOOTING
I was going to get a Radeon, but after hearing about all the problems with those cards (here, hardware forums, usenet, etc), I got a Chaintech Geforce FX 5900 non-ultra w/ video-in for $240. It's now overclocked to Ultra speeds and has not had any compatibility problems or excess heat. Radeons might be faster in some ways, and they do have slightly better visual quality, but I think Nvidia's driver stability make up for the speed difference. This is not to bash ATI users, if you got your card to work flawlessly, then that's great, I just didn't want to take the risk of getting a $200 dud. So hopefully this will help you decide in some small way what card to get? -
Glad you all liked it. About the top of the skydome, yes, I'm making sure that won't have any seams. As for the blue-tinged version, I'll release two versions of the sky, one that's photorealistic and one that has that stronger bluish tinge. I'm planning to have this done by wednesday.

What errors? It's probably the size of the images, which are 1024x1024. Other than that, they technically could work with the non-HW T&L data.pbo as long as your graphics card can handle textures that big. Btw, I'm making a new hi-res replacement sky to add to your woes. Here's a beta preview... Another fine morning in OFP land: Bah, what's a few ominous storm clouds to a soldier?

What kind of armor would you like?
toadeater replied to Judge Rabbi's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Supposedly it will take place in Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe and will have varied types of environments. -
You're saying you're a Marine in Iraq, who somehow has managed to get recreational WWW access and post in this forum? You're 12 years old, aren't you?

You might be able to get an answer here: OFPEC Forums

Coincidentally... Army: Downed Chopper Used Defensive Systems WASHINGTON — The Army helicopter shot down over Iraq last weekend apparently had a last-second warning of an approaching missile and managed to launch flares designed to draw the heat-seeking missile away, a senior Army official said Thursday. It is not clear why the defensive moves did not work, but the official, who discussed the attack investigation on condition he not be identified, said U.S. officials believe the shooter simply got in a "lucky shot." The helicopter was flying at between 200 and 300 feet, he said — meaning that the fast-moving missile, when fired at the correct angle of approach, allowed little time for its target to escape.

Changing ai unit behaviour
toadeater replied to -APS-Gnat's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
The command is the same, the only difference is foreach lets you use a command on every unit in the list, instead having to write the command for each unit. _x is a reserved variable in OFP which in this case means substitute all the objects in the list (array) for _x and use the command on them. In other words, you can use: " _x somecommand" foreach units somelist for any command. -
You'll be seeing alot more hiding of info as things get progressively worse for Bush. Government extends its secrecy shield Hiding the Bad News Luckily there are now so many news sources, Bush can't cover everything up like his daddy did with Iran-Contra.

I don't know where you live, but the kinds of criminals (and in some cases just plain ignorant teenagers) we have in NY, Ju Jitsu is just going to get you a bullet in your head. The police don't help either, they're never around when you need them. Anyway, I don't want a gun for carrying around, I want it in the home to scare off burglers or whatever else shows up uninvited. Ever see the interview with Lord British, the guy who made the Ultima games? A gun saved his life, when a lunatic fan broke into his home. I think the bottom line is, if you live in a country where criminals have guns, you should probably have access to one yourself.

Knowsabout tells you how much a unit knows about another unit. The command you need is: unit1 reveal unit2

For a little more than the 9600 Pro, this seems like the best deal out right now: Radeon 9800 What's so good is that you can mod it into a 9800 Pro which normally costs $50 - 100 more! Radeon Modding Guide The 9800SE -> 9800 non-pro seems like a good deal too, since you'll be getting all 8 pipelines instead of just 4 like the 9600. The key is getting a card with the L shaped memory arrangement, which is a repackaged high-end card. Sapphire and Powercolor are good ones to try this with.

Yeah, how about trickling down some of those XBox advances for the PC while we're waiting for OFP2? Like in June 2004 or so?

I never liked the Spec Ops missions either, I think OFP's strength is in large scale combined arms battles, with lots of troops and vehicles, where you feel like you're part of a real war. Not necessarily always at once, but I don't particularly find playing Sniper that much fun, compared to commanding an entire squad or more. I think commanding is the keyword here, being able to have lots of things at your disposal to complete the mission with in your own particular playing style.

That reminds me, the two biggest lazy bums living off their parents in America: If you haven't heard of them, they're the Hilton sisters, heiresses to the Hilton hotel chain fortune. Not only do they not have to do a days work in their life , they also look like THAT. Talk about having everything for nothing. To top it all off, they make even more money from modelling, endorsements, etc. What about all the starving Iraqis out there? It's gotta be a deal with the devil? They'll probably melt and turn into zombies in 10 years, right?

I'm still trying to figure out the difference between fundamentalist Islamic "freedom fighters" and fundamentalist Islamic "terrorists". I guess it depends on who they're murdering.
