How about "napretep" giggle...... Â Do you have a deathwish or something!?

Yeah, I still haven't seen anything that matches OFP's features and realism. Some games have better graphics, or a better feature or two, but as a *complete* experience nothing comes close to OFP. Too bad more people don't seem to know about OFP or refuse to play it. Every time I see those Battlefield ____ games, it pisses me off.

Can you explain why the CIA trained and funded the KLA **before** the Kosovo war? Why did they support an Islamic terrorist organization? Why did they support terrorist attacks against Serb civilians? This was clearly another case of 'regime change', like what the CIA used to do in South America, only this time they resorted to Islamic terrorists rather than narco-mafias. So how was this the Serbs' fault? They're being blamed for retaliating against CIA-sponsored terror attacks, while Israel which bombs Palestine in retaliation on a regular basis is hardly even criticized. I detect a double-standard here. Europe is going to regret helping these Albanians, Kosovo might just turn out to be Europe's Chechnya.

No, it's going to be Spring 2006. BIS still hasn't even finished the X-Box port, how are they going to make OFP2 in one year?

Valve did a survey of all the Steam users and what their hardware specs are. A good source of info if you want to see how you stand in terms of hardware compared to everyone else. Or I guess, at least compared to people who play Valve's games. A couple of key figures (quick summary): Average CPU: 2.0 ghz Average RAM: 256-512 (no big surprise there) Nvidia Users: 64% - ATI Users: 27% Most popular graphics card: Geforce 4 Intel: 51% - AMD: 48% Language used: English 90%, French 5% NTFS? 75% The complete results of the survey: The Official Steam Survey

Changing 'time of day' from within mission.
toadeater replied to PinBall's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I've seen something like that done in a mission, maybe you'll like this idea, or maybe not, at least it's very easy to do. Have the player at the beginning of the mission choose a path to take. Like say, if he wants a daytime mission, go immediately to the mission start point. If he wants a night-time mission, go to the barracks (or whatever, it can be anything) and get some sleep, or do some pushups or something. So if the player walks to path 1, he will just go on as normal, but if he goes to path 2, he will hit a trigger that will advance the time or whatever you want. Make sure you put a fade while the time advances too so it looks like the player did something during that missing time. Even better, if you know how to use the Addaction command, have that appear when the player hits the trigger and confirm that he really wants to wait 'til nightime. -

Speaking of the Masons... Inductee shot dead at L.I. Masonic lodge rite PATCHOGUE — A secretive initiation ceremony in the basement of a Long Island Masonic lodge went "tragically wrong" when a member mistakenly pulled out a loaded weapon and fatally shot an inductee in the face, police said Tuesday. ---- So this is funny isn't it? Americans get a choice to vote for a Mason or a Mason? What about Nader, he's not one of them too, is he?

Script idea regarding chemical warhead attack
toadeater replied to JGreyNemo's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I made a sandstorm script based on the effect in Morrowind a while ago that you could do this with. As a matter of fact, that's one of the suggested uses for it, as well as a snowstorm. The readme explains the values you need to change, very easy to do. Look for "Toadeater's Sandstorm Script" on OFPEC: Sandstorm Script -
BMP, BMD commander view targeting bugs still not fixed. I hope they will be, because otherwise those vehicles are unplayable. Go to the commander's view in the BMP3 Arena, target something, then unselect it, the cursor disappears and you can no longer control the turret. In the regular BMP3, the turret movement is broken from the beginning. BMD behaves the same as the BMP 3.

Wouldn't it have to have a new Operation name? Like Operation Vietnam? Or Vietnam Flashpoint? They could even call it Flashpoint '69 I suppose. I still hope it's not going to be a Vietnam game though. Booo! Vietnam, booo!

That quote in itself is nothing but a huge oxymoron... Morrowind was a terrible bastarization of Daggerfall and it's precursors. What was a huge world with a wide variety of locales and people to visit became pretty much a technology demo for the Xbox. It -was- limited by the console insofar as they decided to opt for cramped spaces and nicer visuals instead of the quantity of places and variety of locales to visit. I didn't mind those things about Morrowind. What I didn't like is that it's combat was so repetitive and entirely devoid of tactics. A thief-like character still had to fight like a fighter, and the "magic" basically was the same as using weapons. If you think about it, Morrowind didn't have any real levels at all, so there was no possibility of tactics. Anyway this is the OFP2 forum so we can't talk about Morrowind so much. But my point is, I don't think Morrowind suffered because it was ported to consoles, I think they opted for that design for other reasons: no need for level design and a completely mindless AI that basically ran at you in a straight line and attacked and did nothing else.

Now that's the idea. Avoid the brainwashing flouride additives in water at all costs! The Communists have been adding this stuff to America's water supplies for years, in an attempt to turn Americans stupid! Those water-peddling pinko Commie bastards have everyone convinced that you need drink water all day long, every day. Now ask yourself, why would they want people to drink so much water? It's the flouride! Once they've got everyone dumbed down, they'll invade! If want to save yourself, the only safe thing left to drink is alcohol. Preferably whiskey, but Bombay will do. Now go out and tell everyone what those Commies are doing, we've got to stop them before it's too late!

I nominate Noam Chomsky, because he was right. Runner up is Pope John Paul, who even though he is an insane fundamentalist, put aside his prejudices against Muslims and opposed Bush's crusade for oil. I think that speaks volumes about what's going on, when even the Pope won't support a crusade! Don't tell me Bush is a protestant and it doesn't count. Bush isn't a protestant, he's a crook.

I've heard more people having problems with Asus boards than Abit boards recently. Look on their forums and see what customers are saying. I have an Abit AI7 which I bought a couple of months ago, don't have any complaints about it. If you get good RAM and a good power supply (350 watts minimum these days, two fans), you shouldn't have any problems (unless you get a dead on arrival motherboard) and could overclock on stock cooling. Corsair, OCZ, GEIL, Kingston, and Mushkin are all good RAM choices. The best are Corsair XMS series, OCZ Enhanced Latency series, Â or GEIL Golden Dragon series. I also wouldn't bother with a 875 board and get a 865 board instead. 865 boards from Abit and Asus both have 857-like memory acceleration tech that give them basically equal performance for about $70 less. That money you save you can spend getting better RAM and maybe an extra fan.

Bush doesn't know anything, he only follows orders.
-
No, that actually started because of America's support of Israel, and ofcourse that America is a "Christian" nation. It also has a little bit to do with a couple hundred years of French and British imperialism in the region. They look at America as more of the same, and they have good reason to. Bush shouldn't have played up the religious aspects of all this, now all the stereotypes the Muslims have of America have been confirmed.
-
George Bush should be impeached for presenting false intelligence and lying before Congress and the UN. Bush insisted he knew better and that he was doing "God's work." Well, apparently God wasn't the one telling Bush to do it! Unless God is trying to destroy America or something?! Let's also not forget about Tony Blair. That weasel will no doubt say he was only following his "blood pledge" to support America. Not so fast Tony, you lied too, rather than admit Bush was lying. Blair could have prevented the war from happening simply by asking for proof, he didn't. Something needs to be done about all these crooks.

I believe God farted it into existence. Genesis should be rewritten to say: After a week of feasting on souls, God had some serious gas. He couldn't hold it anymore and *BAAAAAAARRRRPPPP* all the trapped souls came flying out and landed here on Earth. The force was so strong, God himself was propelled out of the universe, never to be seen again, leaving mankind all alone and wondering what happened. Not a very glorious beginning for mankind, is it? No wonder most religions try to portray it as something more noble than that. We've already found human fossils far older than 6,000 years, btw.

Nader doesn't like the Republicans OR the Democrats, why should he support one of them? As far as he's concerned, there's no difference between them. There basically isn't. They both refuse to deal with the corporate corruption in America, they both profit from it. We'll see if this changes after Kerry is elected president. All eyes will be on the Democrats.
-
Too late, Bush already did that. I bet Kerry is going to be a flake and not deliver on any of his promises. I'd vote for Nader but he's never going to win because most people think he's never going to win. Maybe Kerry could make him vice president? He probably wouldn't agree to that though, because he thinks the Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans (they are). I guess this year I'm going to vote for Jack Daniels.

Yes but isn´t it better to cancel a program that has shown not to work than to force it through without eliminating the risks just for the sake of it ? Cancel it if it doesn´t work and look for something else. These projects are done by private contractors who's primary concern is their own profit and what their stockholders think. In other words, corporations, not the military, who's interest might actually be that the thing really works as advertized. Now, have you ever heard Microsoft admit that Windows is seriously flawed? It's basically the same situation. If the contractor admits they can't get the project to work, then they'll lose the contract. So instead, they keep the problems quiet and keep saying "oh yeah, sure, we'll have it ready by next year, just give us another billion." Maybe they could get it to work "one day", but how much $ would they have spent to do it? No one seems to be watching them, or holding them accountable.

I didn't finish my sky yet, and I don't think Llauma finished his 2.0 version yet, so I think it's a little early for a vote isn't it?
