One question that MANY fans care about.
sparks50 replied to CyDoN's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Q, A little request from me, please do not keep hitting enter after every small sentence, your post looks like a EMO poem from high school and is a pain to read. A working template for pvp to come in the box isn't too much to ask for. Though I am not entirely sold on the idea that this was the sole thing that stopped Arma from selling 2 millions. -

Yup, I did a quick count rounding up to ten right now, and theres easily a lot more than 500 people BTW while looking at the server list, its great to see how many servers are embracing the ACE mod. Yes the animations has its issues, but it really isn't such a pain when you plan ahead instead of the usual run in a straight line until you find a enemy to shoot at. And I can not see how that can be coop/militaristic tosser exclusive, because surely you want to stay alive and win the game? -
I do not doubt it. It will be great

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Public Release!

Theres more to it than that, Ive also seen it happen with medic ACE units several times in MP on Matt Rochelles missions on the GOL server. Ill try to get some specifics later. Could be a Arma bug as GC mentioned. Or a issue with the mission. -

I dont see the issue here either. How long is it going to take before someone ports a Berzerk map to Arma 2 after release? One day? 20 minutes? And after that, anyone can download it directly from the server. -

Its all what the players does of it. Some of the tactical pvp I have played in ArmA, has been the most nerve wrecking in the game. But that is provided that the people you play with wants the same as you. PVP has the potential of being just as good as coop, with one exception, that your enemy has a brain, making the game play extremely intensive. But its all up to you and the people you play with, and not the game. -
This is the intersection that is part of the route to a airport right? I think I have seen it in Google earth. Great stuff!

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment Public Release!
sparks50 replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I noticed in a test I just did that it seems to happen exclusively to units that spawn with no kind of medical equipment in the inventory, such as the Bluefor/men/rifleman (WDL). -
Something that has been on my mind while chasing insurgents in Opteryx Afghan village with all its chest high walls is a "look over" key for the iron sight mode, that could make the character stretch about 15cm higher(pun not intended) when you press it in iron sight mode in standing or crouch stance. The key could be Shift, or something else. The problem with fluid stance is that it requires a fluid control, such as mousewheel or mouseaxis. ArmA uses the mouse wheel for the actionmenu. Raven shield used mouseaxis which did not work for the simple reason that you need it for aiming at all times. I do really hope the motions have been smoothed up a bit, and reloading while moving is a good first step to that. I think rigid controls is the number one issue general people complain about ArmA, right after bugs. For me there is no control system in any fps that is better than the one in ArmA, despite the rigidness. I actually feel like Im controlling a human being and it has a lot of sweet features that it is easy to take for granted. But theres definitely a potential in making the movements smoother, without having to sacrifice realism.

I find coms to be well hear able in any situation with fx set on 6.5 and radio on 8.5. Have you tried setting the fx on a lower level than radio?

Another thing, many of the Eotechs and Aimpoints are yellow-plastic looking in the glass when in iron sight mode. Now my Aimpoint is clear as glass when I look directly through it, so I can not figure out why that would be. Its obviously not a big issue though, It does its job. -

Still, its a bit weird/controversial to see missions for such a new and ongoing conflict. No bad words about the mod though, it looks good -

I like the fact that there are some addons included. It gives mission makers more to play with, and keeps things simple. Agreed. -

Not bad. Now lets see if my stupid printer will work -
I think the main reason for the Israelis to build the wall where it is today, is to increase the distance a terror rocket would have to travel to reach built-up civilian areas. I'm pretty neutral to the conflict. It all seems so meaningless and like its never going to end.

I would argue that there is also a big nostalgic appeal. But no doubt, cwc was a great campaign. Well, billions of people eat at McDonalds, but that doesn't necessarily mean that their food is the best in the world. What I am meaning to say is, mass appeal isn't always a stamp of quality.

So, would anyone have made the jump to OFP if it was released TODAY, after Arma? I for sure wouldn't. OFP had a good Campaign from the box, but I have already seen plenty of SP user made campaigns for Arma that beats it IMO
