    ARMA 2 : 18+ rating vs Arma 1 : 16+

Actually, I dont think you can even sell 18+ videogames to anyone in Australia. Would be cool if a Australian could confirm this, as I don't trust Wikipedia without a source. Wiki: So yes, they banned videogames, and they banned handguns. So now there is no longer crime in Australia, as illustrated by this graph^^ Assaults from 1995 to 2007 in Australia (number per month) http://www.aic.gov.au/topics/violence/stats/assault/

I'm guessing he was just a bit embarrassed over that cheesy, completely uncalled for explosion, while talking about something they represent as a simulation :) But it would be cool if they had put some more thought into this area. But theres still no way a fuel tank would explode like that In real life.

    ArmA II: The Vehicles

Some may demand that BI should make everything from scratch in these games, but I'm OK with them using what they got, so more attention can be given to where it really counts.
  6. Yes, Some BI dev said that the grass-view distance is easily configurable and that this value was recently raised. This was said in response to the april fools joke, where the Farma 2 screens had long grass-view distances.

    vehicle passengers and weapon usage

There may be an mh6 in Arma 2, the list on the Arma2 site is not complete. I hope they port it over, its a fun helicopter, even though its not used by the marines, so they cant have it in the campaign.

    FP : DR - News & Discussion

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3018/postmortem_bohemia_interactive_.php Interesting article. According to it, the team changed publishers several times throughout development.

They took a calculated risk. Im not into videogames, but I am involved in distribution, and I have yet to see a firm sign a distribution contract because of passion or charity, when money is on the line. But hey, for all I know CM could be doing it all for their love of realistic videogames.

    ARMA 2 : 18+ rating vs Arma 1 : 16+

I'm guessing the inclusion of civilians in the campaign could be a contributing factor in this. But then again, why was the Delta Force: Black Hawk Down videogame, with fighting in towns full of civilians, only rated 16+? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Force:_Black_Hawk_Down lAOv3A3Q5i0

using an xbox 360 controller in the PC version

Hehe, I actually find Keyboard&Mouse to be better and more accurate than using a joystick at flying helicopters in Arma. But using a controller wouldn't be all that different from Mouse&Keyboard I guess.

    Is publishing charity though? :)
  13. There seems to be a full installation for 1.05 so you can probably download that + 1.06 update. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ACE#Public_Beta_Release_1.00

    FP : DR - News & Discussion

Wikipedia vandalism is common on the Arma 2 page too: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=ArmA_2&diff=275659621&oldid=273059076 So there are idiots on both sides. Ill tell why this community is so much more negative to OFP 2, then OFP 2 community is to Arma 2: The naming controversy. CM is essentially lying by claiming responsibility for what they were not responsible to, and successfully scamming potential buyers. CM could have called its game "Dragon Rising", and I would guess that the vast majority of users on this forum would have been ok with it. Actually I think a lot more on this forum would have been positive to the game. I may get both games irregardless though. Theres no use in letting this affect what fun could be had, and its not like realistic tactical shooters are commonly released nowadays.

    Camouflage and draw distance

Indeed. Right now its very easy to observe people at a distance. A sniper rarely has any use for a spotter in the game, because of this. Would help if the uniform at long distances could take a bit of color from the landscape and/or blur the outer lines slightly to compensate?

    Deadfast's Translations

They have downscaled the towns a good bit, judging by the satellite image of the real area VS Chernarus map. I guess its for performance.
  17. chris64 and skept: I don't think a body would provide much protection from bullets IRL, especially if the body is lying on the back or stomach, in a angle where the west on the body would not cover much. Concealment yes, protection probably not so much So I don't think this is a very good argument to not have ragdolls in the game. EDIT: beaten by a whole bunch of people :D
  18. Oh no, the uploader has made it private. Did anyone download it before it happened?
  19. They set Farma 2(april joke) release date to June. And June is the date ive been guessing.

    Ok its not a shotgun..
  21. So Windows Error Reporting can actually serve a purpose.. I would not have guessed.

    Vehicles done whats next?

Couldnt care either way :) Sooner = I get my hands on it faster, later = the game gets better.
  23. It has both the option of PVP and coop. So what is there to argue about?
