  1. I doubt it, Mafia 1 and 2(set in 30s and 50s) had to use fictional names on their cars to avoid being sued.
  2. This Lada looks like its actually licensed for the game. http://www.sme.sk/datahry/1973/preview_arma2_12_s_b.jpg http://www.sme.sk/datahry/1973/preview_arma2_13_s_b.jpg

Do we have Rivers this time??

    http://www.pcdome.hu/gallery/3307/image67.jpg Looks like a river.
  4. Corpsman is pronounced "core-man" BTW, when they say "corpse-man" it sounds funny and morbid. Edit: Lecholas beat me
  5. I still think it looks very good, even though the video is missing some things and is possibly outdated now.
  6. Loud or not, I think we can all agree that they are hear able IRL, and a important part of immersion.
  7. PhilippRauch is working on a Javelin, its not released yet though. This is how it should have been done:
  8. I couldn't tell if the reload animation was the same standard Arma 1 type, or a weapon specific one. Perhaps someone will have better luck? Anyway, awesome vids, the sounds and general atmosphere feels great. That modified M240 really seemed to pack a punch.
  9. From IGN preview: BI people should consider contacting them and say that the voices are just not implemented in the game yet, and that the final game will have it. A lot of people reads IGN.
  10. According to Steam, the average/most gamers seems to have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 series, 512 MB videoRAM, INTEL 2.3 Ghz to 2.69 Ghz, and 2gb of RAM. http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/

You can see the reticle/projected aiming thing in the middle of the sight, while the camera is not directly behind the sight. Thus, its the same "shortcut" that they did with the Aimpoints in Armed Assault
  12. maionaze: that could just be a general description of its real life counter part, and not a included feature in the game. But I hope you are right. I would also like to be able to drop Humvees, bicycles, pianos :D

    From a recent preview: http://www.armaholic.com/pfs.php?m=view&v=4-tiscali_games_preview_april_4.jpg
  14. Yes, it looks like it will be accessible, like Rahmadi is to Sahrani.
  15. Paratroops I guess? Anyway, I think the Utes island has an airport too. Only one airport would be very strange, USA and Russia sharing airports?
  16. corrected. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=71759
  17. I wouldn't put too much trust into the Tiscali performance report. This is supposedly the rig they used to showcase Arma 2 to journalists in Arma2 boot camp: #GIGABYTE MA790GP-DS4H #AMD Phenom 9650 X4 Quad-Core, 2.3GHz #4GB (KIT 2x2GB) DDR2 1066MHz PC8500 CL5-5-5-18 OCZ Platinum Edition XTC #SAPPHIRE HD 4850 Toxic, 512MB DDR3 #SEAGATE Barracuda 7200.11 500GB Not a too impressive computer, only 2.3ghz quadcore. I would say its around average for the gaming segment. Since they used it show off Arma 2, It must have been able to handle high graphics with a consistent frame rate. The Info is from a interview translated by Deadfast. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=71759 A recent preview used these settings: - Intel 3GHz Dualcore CPU, 4GB Ram, Geforce GTX 280 GPU. Graphic settings on high and very high with Full HD support. The viewdistance was set at max 4000m.
  18. Under "Weapon resting": http://www.acemod.net/wiki/Category:ACE_features I recommend reading through them all. Even if you have played a lot of ACE, chances are your going to discover a feature you didn't know about before :)
  19. Weapon resting has been there a long time. any surface can be used, as long as it is directly under your weapon. Shift+space enables it.
  20. Probably place the Huey in the editor and fly around a bit. then check out all the tutorials, and get stuck in the campaign.

  22. Yes, its definitely a big improvement from the standard "moonwalk and slide" technology presently being used in games.

I guess hes talking about a parallax "free"(though parallax can still be introduced) Eotech and Aimpoint sights. The screens of Arma 2 Eotechs shows no such functionality. Anyway, I think Deadfast is a good candidate to the Community Awards 2009 when the time comes :D
  24. Yes. I guess the government pays a bit better than us.

I would take it easy, I think a enormous amount of in depth English previews is just around the corner.
