    SP The Bridge at Davle

SP The Bridge at Davle This is a Cold War combined arms mission based on the 'Soviet Assault (Large)' scenario featured in the 'Cold War Gone Hot: World War III 1986' book of the Force on Force wargame series. During 1987's spring season, the Soviets launch a massive assault across the Inner German Border. Elements of the US Army's 2nd Battalion, 64th Armor and 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry occupy a German village and nearby high ground awaiting the enemy assault across the bridge. The Soviet forces consist of the lead tank company of the advanced guard battalion of the 120th Guards MRR, 39th Guards Motorized Division. This scenario is based on an actual training mission fought by these US Army units NE of Schweinfurt, Germany during January 1987. Can you succeed? Required Addons The mission requires Mikero's Editor Update 103 which can be downloaded from the link below: https://www.ofpec.com/editors-depot/index.php?action=details&id=158&game=OFP Readme Download Link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZgO3VTXfA2m4sPjwcRLUWJO-NblL8nL2/view?usp=sharing

It should work if you rename the exe FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE, don't forget to change it back though.

    Just an idea (Remastered models)

Back in the day, Silesian tried a similar project called OFP Retextured. The goal was to retexture OFP's assets to provide a better looking game. Silesian released a few addons, some of which made it to ofp.info, and some didn't. If you search the ofp.info backup you should be able to find the Su-25, Apache, Cessna etc. https://forums.bohemia.net/profile/751108-silesian/?do=content&type=forums_topic&change_section=1

    Just an idea (Remastered models)

Interesting idea. If I remember correctly, this was going to be a feature of Resistance. BIS planned to updated CWC content to Resistance standards, but it was dropped at some stage for whatever reason.

    OFP.info 2.0

I notice on the front page there's an advertisement for 'OFP Air - Let's Fly on Hardcore', what is it? I've also found two articles that I can't remember seeing on the original website: http://ofpr.info.paradoxstudio.uk/component/k2/272-res2.html http://ofpr.info.paradoxstudio.uk/component/k2/271-ofpreality.html

Excellent, thank you so much! The last link doesn't work, but I'm guessing that's Saddam's WW3 Russian Objects pack?

You're welcome and thank you for your thoughts! I got the overview picture from Wikimedia, it lists the vehicle as a Bradley - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:M2_Bradley_and_Infantry_Reforger_1984.jpg The bush on the tank was an idea I got from watching an Arma 3 tanks DLC video where you can attach various camo to the armor. I wanted to see something similar for OFP. I think it could have further potential with someone with more understanding of the scripting language. Yes, I think it's setPos'ed in an endless loop. I used the very old (2002) MG on vehicles script from OFPEC, which only allows you to manipulate the height of the object. There's another script on OFPEC that lets you change the height and distance from the centre of the object you're attaching the bush too. However, it constantly updates the object to face the same direction as the vehicle, which doesn't look good. I tried to adapt the MG on vehicles script so it didn't obstruct the view too much but my knowledge is limited. I'll update this post in the near future to include a WGL version and one using STGN's M1 addon. After that, I'll have another look at the wargame scenario books and see what else I can adapt. By the way, in the addon request thread I uploaded some mods/addons including Flashpoint in the Falklands. There's a mission or two of yours in there, I believe. I remember enjoying them very much and they're on my list to play again.

Thanks! I wanted to do a US counterattack to seize the hills on the other side. However, getting tanks to cross the bridge proved difficult. In fact, one of the T-80 platoons is supposed to cross the bridge, instead, the platoon stays at the entrance and once or twice I've seen it in the water (haha). I'll think about an additional objective and test ideas. Was the bush camo on the tank a nice gimmick or a hindrance?
  11. Thanks I'll aim for a 256GB SSD. There's another MSI laptop with a very similar specification at the same price. The only differences being a 256GB SSD and a GTX1050Ti instead of a GTX1060. You can see the laptop at the link below: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B076CXTYZ6/ref=psdc_429886031_t3_B074LMNWZB Should I look for models with a 1060 GPU or is the difference between the 1050 and 1060 unimportant for Arma 3? I'm assuming I should aim for an i7 over an i5 given Arma 3's CPU demands. Or would some i5 models be acceptable? Additionally, would you recommend 16GB RAM over 8GB RAM? Finally, I've seen some Asus ROG gaming laptops with AMD and ATI components. For example, this one below: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-rog-gl702zc-amd-rx-580-4gb-17.3-fhd-ips-freesync-amd-6-core-ryzen-5-1600-gaming-laptop-lt-24l-as.html I've stuck with Intel and Nvidia over the years and since Arma 3 uses PhysX I haven't been looking to change. Does it make a difference for Arma 3?
  12. Hello all I'm looking for a new machine, primarily for Arma 3, and the only other games I play are older titles. My current gaming rig is ancient now, built back in 2009 (haha) but upgraded GPU and SSD back in 2012/13. Runs Arma 2 well and Arma 3 OK. I've been out of the loop since 2013 due to work and travel. I haven't used my rig since then and my knowledge of hardware is outdated. My rig is also huge and takes up too much room which is something I don't have to spare, so space and mobility are key factors. That's why I've been looking at gaming laptops as a solution. I would also consider SFF gaming PCs. I know there's a price you pay with laptops in terms of mobility. The same issue probably exists with SFF machines? I'd be looking to spend £800-850 (could stretch to £900 if it would be of significant benefit) for a gaming laptop and around £600-650 for an SFF rig as I'd have to purchase a new monitor and wireless peripherals. I can't buy anything right now, more likely in about 2-3 months time. I'm just looking to get an idea with what I can do for my budget. I've been looking at this laptop and I'm keen to get any thoughts on the hardware and how it could handle Arma 3. I'm also open to other suggestions, laptop or SFF: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GP62MVR-7RFX-880-Leopard-15-6-Inch/dp/B074LMNWZB/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1529483672&sr=1-1&keywords=msi

Thank you for reuploading those addons. I missed them the first time around. Would you be happy to reupload the MIM-72, AMX-13 and the ADATS if you still have it?
  14. Hi all Does anybody know of any voice actors? I'm on the verge of finishing a mission based on a scenario from a Cold War wargaming book and I'd like to add some voice acting to it. I'm pretty sure with the old forum software there was a group or thread with willing voice actors, but I can't seem to find it anymore. There are only a few lines. I'd need three voice actors, preferably Americans. Does anybody know if there's a thread or group with voice actors or know of people who would be willing to spare some time to record a few lines?

Mostly to stuff that's disappeared or difficult to find these days, for example, I believe the latest version of the Jungle Fever mod has been lost. So far I have the Falklands mod plus missions, WGL stuff including missions and PUKF configs, Jungle Fever, Everon Defence Forces with a mission by XCess, official and unofficial Liberation 1941-1945 releases, Footmunch's planes and roundels, probably everything from the PMC website including required addons for their campaigns, various UK addons including a North Devon terrain and mission editing stuff like scripts and tutorials.

    Advanced AI Mod - WIP

Will this mod be a set of scripts or include a config.cpp or both for flexibility? Some AI abilities, such as hearing, seeing and engaging from further than 300m, need to be modified using a custom config.cpp. Or will this mod focus on AI routines like taking cover etc.?
  19. Unfortunately, some files are missing, such as the pulsar watch and two of the Liberation 1941-1945 patches. There's an option to re-upload, but nothing happens when I click on it. Would there be a way to easily download the files from Gamefront's OFP and Resistance sections like what the community did with ofp.info? Or is it a case of having to do it manually?

    SP The Green Zone

I haven't touched the mission in around one month, but I picked it up again at the weekend and made some progress with it. It took a bit of time for me to decide how to use the enemy AI. Initially, I wanted to use scripts to make it as dynamic as possible but it proved tricky to get right. Instead, I opted for waypoints and switch triggers in concert with some variable AI numbers and placement. Hopefully, this gives the mission some degree of replay value as the enemy AI deployment and reactions should change with each play. I added a basic intro and added two custom music tracks. There's also some radio chatter, and I tried to make the briefing seem realistic in its layout and use of British military terminology. I'm sure it's not 100% authentic, but I hope it does help to immerse the player in their role as a platoon commander and the responsibility they have for the lives of the soldiers under their command. It's near impossible to make the player care about their AI without character building, which is beyond the scope this mission. Instead, I have a condition where if you sustain more than four KIA, the mission will fail. Therefore you cannot throw your AI into battle without recon, planning and caution. It should make the mission challenging. Due to this condition, I've limited the number of artillery shells available to the player, so they don't simply plaster everything with HE. Everything is in place in the mission editor, and it is now at the testing stage to check if everything works as intended. If anyone wants to test before I post the mission for release, send me a PM.
