OT: Actually, i thought the phrase was "better to have a little bit of something, than a whole lotta nothing".
-
or just download it. (assuming that idea dosn't vapourise)
-
i thought this press release was yesterday ?
-
not really, lets face it. EA are going to be laughing counting their money from the stack of games they released to little kids in the time Armed Assault was developed, all of which have a playable life span equal to your average may fly. I respect BIS for caring about its product. It does comes with drawbacks like having a hard time releasing into a market dominated by companies like EA that build fast, sell, cut the losses, and move on, but thats the way it is. why build a product that people want to keep when you can sell them a new one ? -- it's sad, but thats the way games are going, and im glad BIS hasn't slipped down that road yet.

i expect localised publishers are contractually bound to distribute in localised languages only, to stop one cutting into anouther's profits purely by release date. i mean, if it came in english on 09/11/06, not many would buy elsewhere. all speculation though, just a guess.

please flame each other in PM or something, alot of people need this thread open to actually discuss the topic at hand. anyhow, yeah it's a shame about 505, but im sure it will be ok and you can always download the game in europe. I'm just glad as many people as possible will be exposed to Armed assault one way or the other. The PR up to now has been appauling, so its up to us to use those 3-4 months to convince as many people as possible to get the game when they can. i dont think it really matters. People on this forum are pissed as they've waited ages for the game and now have to wait 3-4 more for the manual, but the average gamer hasnt ever heard of Armed Assault, so they only have the extra 3 months to wait, which isnt too bad really.

no way in hell am i trusting money to them lol :-p
-
be worth asking 505 what price they are going to sell it at, seeing as its going to be really old by the time its out in europe. Maybe it'll go right onto the bargain bin :-)
-
All I can say is, please try hard for a multi-language online distribution system that aims for a November release like the other confirmed countries. if you go round the office now and call a meeting to decide the above issues, i promise i'll send you jaffa cakes. .. i can even upgrade to twiglets if that's prefered ?
-
remember, they can download the game just like the rest of us. -- if the download date shifts back (or indeed, turns out to be) Q1 2007, *then*, (and only then), it's time to throw all the toys out of cot. :-)
-
thats 505
-
....and the proposed copy protections / languages of each ! (he says, bouncing up and down like a kid)
-
no offence, and respect for being a mod and all, but do you have any idea how badly you'd suck at playing pictionary, placebo ?
-
This might be a bad sign, but my first thought was "great! Napalm the field and breathe in lads!â€
-
if the download comes in english, i'll just get that. -- i doubt i'll read the manual, and i expect it'll come in pdf in the download anyhow. going to back up the game to 2 cd's if i buy it or download it, so it really makes no diffrence. that said, yes its a bit of a shame that its 2007 for the shops in europe, but just look at it as a way to pull more players into the scene a few months after the die-hard fans get the game. its good for the community in the long run. If your crazy enough anouth the game to wait this long and a perfectionist enough to want the proper box and manual, either wait, or buy it twice. :-)

can anyone contact their respective publisher and find out which languages their region's version will cover, and which copy protection scheme will be in use ? I'm sure alot of people would like to know the info .... and no, this doesn't mean "go and batter BIS for the information".
-
What do BIS owe you absoulutly nothing.. Its people like you who need to be beaten by people like me and left for dead.. Talking like that saying they owe you something when they clearly dont is just totaly BULL&%$ Why would you need an apology just becuase they found a publisher.. Yeah i was hoping for a nice christmas present but it will  have to be a Present for the celebration of the new year.. S78t happens deal with it.. instead of spamming your awsome like some child who hasnt went through puberty yet..  Its people like you i hope you get the game and it doesnt play on your computers becuase your a noobchild who cant afford big daddy PCs... AMEN!  he's taking the piss dude.

can i suggest something.... personally i think it would a good idea if the original poster added to the original details for each publisher. something along the lines of this... PUBLISHER | COUNTRY(ies) | DATE | LANGUAGES | COPY PROTECTION SCHEME | MISC i know this isn't known for each publisher, but it would be damn handy to fill the table in as information comes out in the next few weeks. -- that way all the fans know what / where to get the version they need.
-
i think everyone needs to calm down. sit back for a bit and have a nice cup of STFU. -- my 2 cents.
-
no, it'd be like gta san andreas having physx, its just not suitable. i may be wrong, but i think it's never going to happen for engine reasons.
-
the US version has friendly fire turned off.
-
WE GOT MU**ER F**KING SNAKES ! -- sorry, couldnt resist. p.s: do these snakes bite you in VBS1 ? - do you need a medic after being bitten ? -- that'd be funny
-
sadly true jenkins. -- of the last 6 games i've really been waiting for with baited breath, 5 sucked.
